Born November 7, 1954 in Rochester, a son of the late Roy E. and Lillian A. Jabout Crawford.

Husband of Kathryn Broadbent Crawford, whom he married January 14, 1995; father of James (Sherry) Crawford Jr. and Joshua Crawford, both of Batavia; grandfather of Krista Crawford of Alexander; brother of Lillian (Vince Denardo) Crawford, Roy Crawford, both of Rochester, Thomas (Pamela) Crawford of Perinton, Theresa Mattice, Elizabeth (Richard) Hogan, Harry (Adriaenne) Crawford, all of Rochester and the late Carl John Crawford; uncle of Joanna (John) LaDelfa, Joseph Crawford, Carl John Mattice, all of Rochester, Jennifer Crawford of Perinton, Heather Crawford, Corey Crawford, Natalie Crawford and Allessandra Crawford, all of Rochester; several great-nieces, great nephews, aunts and cousins.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Services are private. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mrs. Lenoyr S. Decker

Batavia - Mrs. Lenoyr S. Decker, age 90, of Batavia, a clerk at the former Sleight´s Bookstore in Batavia, died Wednesday, August 6, 2003, at United Memorial Medical Center.

Mrs. Decker was born May 29, 1913 in Brockport, the daughter of the late Keene and Irene Elliott Salisbury.

She attended Fredonia State College and the State College at Geneseo; was a member, since the age of 17, of the First Baptist Church of Batavia; member of the Holland Purchase Historical Society; past skipper of the Power Squadron Aux; member of the Oak Orchard Yacht Club; past member of the former Genesee Memorial Hospital Aux; member and past chairman of the American Legion Post 332Aux.; an avid Monday Afternoon Bridge Club member at the Senior Center and former member at Terry Hills Golf Club.

Her husband of 61 years, Leo F. Decker, former editor of the Daily News, died 1994.

Surviving include a daughter, Lenoyr (David C.) Sturgeon of East Syracuse; a son, Steven Decker of Batavia; 4 grandchildren, David John (Susan) Sturgeon of Dewitt, Kristina Lenoyr Sturgeon of East Syracuse, Allen Sturgeon of Syracuse, and Sarah (Brian) Hallowell of Camillus; four great-grandchildren, Leanne Sturgeon of East Syracuse, Nathan Sturgeon, Nicholas Sturgeon and Kayla Sturgeon, all of Dewitt; and several cousins.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in North Byron Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Holland Purchase Historical Society, 131 East Main Street, Batavia, NY 14020 or American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Parkway West, Amherst, NY 14228 or First Baptist Church of Batavia, 306 East Main Street, Batavia, NY 14020.

Mrs. Barbara J. Donohue

Batavia – Mrs. Barbara J. Donohue, age 60, of Batavia, former employee of Kauffman´s Footware, Ebling Laundry and Chapin Manufacturing in Batavia, died suddenly Tuesday, September 9, 2003, at United Memorial Medical Center.

Mrs. Donohue was born March 24, 1943 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Nelson and Beatrice Worthington Osborne.

She enjoyed shopping.

Mrs. Donohue is survived by her husband, James D. “Don” Donohue, whom she married October 26, 1974; five children, Gene (Barbara) Snyder of New Jersey, Robert (Valerie) Snyder, Gregory Snyder, Vera (Gregory) Solomonidis and Michael Snyder, all of Batavia; four brothers, Nelson Osborne of LeRoy, Robert (Jerri) Osborne of Oakfield, Calvin Osborne of Rochester and Melvin Osborne of Elba; two sisters, Onolee (Cletus) Ritchy of Rochester and Beverly (Jerry) Rightmeyer of Batavia; 18 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She is the grandmother of the late Jeffrey Wenzel Solomonidis.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 pm. Thursday at Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia where services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mrs. Evelyn A. Riegel

Batavia - Mrs. Evelyn A. Riegel, age 87, of Batavia, a retired librarian at New York State School for the Blind, who enjoyed traveling, died Monday, October 6, 2003, at her home under the care of HomeCare & Hospice

Mrs. Riegel was born January 22, 1916 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Albert and Ruth Spring Stroh.

A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Batavia, Mrs. Riegel graduated from Elmira College in 1942 and received her masters in Library Science from SUNY Geneseo. She was a member and past president of the Zonta Club of Batavia and volunteered her time with Literacy Volunteers and the Tourist Booth through the Chamber of Commerce. Along with her husband and family, Mrs. Riegel operated Riegel Greenhouse in Batavia. She retired from the New York State School for the Blind in 1975.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Ernest A. Riegel, whom she married September 25, 1942; two sons, David (Connie Erikson) Riegel of Niskayuna and Lawrence (Katherine) Riegel of Batavia; a daughter, Nancy (David) Masters of Batavia; a sister, Gladys Burzycki of Rochester; four grandchildren, Scott Masters of Mn., Todd Masters, Kristin Riegel and Mark Riegel, all of Batavia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Letah McGreehan and Verna Mae Butler.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 East Main Street, Batavia. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HomeCare & Hospice, 550 East Main Street, Batavia, NY 14020 or to First Presbyterian Church of Batavia, 300 East Main Street, Batavia, NY 14020.

Mrs. Kathryn Gage Minor

Vero Beach, FL and Canandaigua, NY - Mrs. Kathryn Gage Minor, age 77, died Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.

Mrs. Minor was born May 19, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of the late F. Wallace and Marvel Gage.

She attended May Institute in St. Louis Mo and Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.

Survivors include her husband, Henry H. Minor Jr.; a son, Henry H. (Laura) Minor III of Geneseo; a daughter, Kathryn (Thomas) McMahon of Tucson, AZ; three granddaughters, Sarah Lindsay and Kate Lindsay both of Bozeman, MT and April Press of Geneseo; several nieces and nephews.

She was the brother of the late Wallace Gage.

There are no prior calling hours. Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the Intensive Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620.

Mr. Harold F. Kingdon

Stafford - Mr. Harold F. Kingdon, age 84, of Stafford, proprietor of Harold Kingdon General Contracting & Builder in Stafford, died Sunday, October 12, 2003, at LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility.

Mr. Kingdon was born August 30, 1919 in Morganville, a son of the late Merton and Mary Schramm Schultz Kingdon.

A lifetime resident of Stafford, Mr. Kingdon was a member of Morganville United Church of Christ. He was a life member of the Stafford Fire Department, the Stafford Exempt Fireman, 299th Engineer Organization and Veteran's of Foreign War, Post No. 1602. A member of the Owls Nest No. 1606 in Oneida, Mr. Kingdon enjoyed woodworking, making toys for his grandchildren and holiday decorations.

He served with the 299th Engineer Combat Battalion during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart.

Mr. Kingdon is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley V. Zillman Kingdon; a son, William (Ellen) Kingdon of Stafford; a daughter, Melody (Arthur) DiSanto of Batavia; three grandsons, Timothy Kingdon of Pavilion, Eric Kingdon of Batavia and Matthew Kingdon of Cheektowaga; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was the brother of the late Merton, Mildred and Gladys Kingdon and step son of the late Alvin Schultz.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be Morganville Cemetery, Stafford. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 3515 Galloway Road, Batavia, New York 14020.

Bert G. Hollenbeck

BATAVIA - Bert G. Hollenbeck, age 71, of East Bethany, a retired supervisor from O & K Trojan, died Sunday, August 10, 2003, at United Memorial Medical Center after a two year illness.

Mr. Hollenbeck was born March 25, 1932, in Batavia, a son of the late Charles and Bertha Yaw Hollenbeck.

He graduated from Batavia High School in 1950 and was a graduate of Erie County Technical School in 1975. Following his retirement from O& K Trojan, he went to Genesee Community College and graduated with a degree in model marketing in 1994. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1951 - 1955 during the Korean War and was a member of Veness-Strollo Post No. 1602 in Batavia. He served on the Pavilion Central School Board of Education from 1973-1981.

He was employed at O& K for 33 years, retiring in 1992 when the plant closed. In retirement, his favorite pastimes were woodworking, traveling, watching sports and working on his computer.

Mr. Hollenbeck is survived by his wife, Monica Lester Hollenbeck, whom he married August 11, 1956; two sons, Paul (Denise) Hollenbeck of Hudson, Ohio and Kevin (Christine) Hollenbeck of Churchville; a daughter, Sheila (Todd) Reynolds of Ovid; five grandsons, two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Joan Marie Hollenbeck who died in 1961 and brother of the late Edwin Hollenbeck who died in 1998.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Tuesday at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday followed by burial in East Bethany Cemetery, East Bethany.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department, Bethany Center Road, East Bethany, New York 14054, Genesee Cancer Assistance, 16 Bank Street, Batavia, New York 14020 or to Homecare & Hospice, 550 E. Main St, Batavia, New York 14020.
