Norma M. Corso
ST. JOHNSVILLE — Norma M. Corso, 58, of 11 Mechanic Street, St. Johnsville, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, N.Y.
She was born August 31, 1942, in the Town of Minden, the daughter of Viola R. (Sanders)  Johnson and the late Arnold B. Johnson. Norma was educated in St. Johnsville schools and lived her life in the St. Johnsville area.
Her marriage to Robert G. Corso took place on May 16, 1959, at St. Patrick's Church, St. Johnsville by Reverend Walter T. Burns.
For 35 years, Norma worked at Helmont Mills Inc. in St. Johnsville, where she last held the position of foreman.
Mrs. Corso was a member of St. Patrick's Church, and was a former member of the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary.
A loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, Norma considered her family to be her foremost priority and gave her full attention to their needs and concerns.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Robert; her mother, Viola Johnson, St. Johnsville; two sons, Anthony Corso of Auriesville and Michael Corso and wife Merry of St. Johnsville; two brothers, Russell  Johnson of Fonda, and Richard  Johnson of St. Johnsville; four sisters, Irma Service of St. Johnsville, Shirley Bowerman of Ephratah, Rosie Crosier and husband Tim of St. Johnsville and Leona  Johnson of Nelliston; three grandchildren, Brandon Corso, Anthony Corso and Brittany Corso, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
She was predeceased by two sons, Robert Corso and Wade Corso; and two brothers, Butch and Clifford Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at 9 a.m. from the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place later in the spring at St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 3, 2001, from 6-9 p.m.
All memorial contributions may be made to St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department or to St. Patrick's Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Anne H. Miller
LITTLE FALLS — Mrs. Anne H. Miller, 79 years of age, beloved wife of the late James W. Miller, passed away on Monday afternoon, June 25, 2001, in the comfort of her home, 28 King St., Little Falls.
Anne was born on April 16, 1922, in Little Falls to the late Raymond and Rhoda (Sart) Hart. She received her education and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Little Falls. She lived her entire life in Little Falls. Anne was united in marriage to James W. Miller on March 7, 1944, he passed away on October 16, 1998. The two shared many wonderful years of marriage together and were blessed with a wonderful family. She was last employed as a computer technician for M.D.S. in East Herkimer for five years. She was of the Catholic faith and a dedicated parishioner of the Holy Family Parish Church in Little Falls. She became an honorary member of the Little Falls Elk's Lodge when her husband James passed away in 1998.
Anne was deeply devoted to her family and had an abiding love for her children and grandchildren; they were Anne's main focus. She also loved birds.
Anne is survived by her loving family including a son: B.J. Miller and wife Debbie of Palmyra, N.Y.; two daughters: Linda Miller of Little Falls and Faye Smalley and husband Paul of Mashpee, Mass.; a brother: William Hart and wife Kate of Greece, N.Y.; her cherished grandchildren: Derek Kleban and companion Julie Snyder of Ilion, Nicole Kleban and companion Ryan Dillon of Little Falls, Molly and Michael Miller of Palmyra, Rachel and Darcie Smalley of Mashpee, MA.; and a beloved great-grandchild: Lucas Kleban of Ilion. Also surviving are her in-laws: John Miller of Little Falls, Bernie Miller of Little Falls, Charles Miller of Schenectady, and Dorothy Malone of Little Falls; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her circle of friends in the Little Falls area, too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family and pay their respects at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe St., Little Falls on Wednesday, June 27, 2001, from 4-8 p.m.
Anne's funeral will commence at 10:15 a.m. from the Enea Funeral Home, Little Falls on Thursday morning, June 28, 2001, where prayer will be offered by Sister Marilyn Hayes. Funeral procession will proceed form the funeral home to Holy Family Parish Church, corner of E. Main and John streets, Little Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charles R. Celeste, pastor, at 11 a.m. Procession will follow to Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Little Falls, where Anne will be laid to rest next to her husband James. Remembrance's in honor of Anne can be made to the Sue Campagna Herkimer County Hospice and envelopes will be available at the Enea Funeral Home for those considering.
The family would like to offer their sincerest thank you to the dedicated caregivers at the Sue Campagna Herkimer County Hospice whose unending care and attention given to Anne and her family will never be forgotten.

Lucy Costanza
DOLGEVILLE — Miss Lucy Costanza, 90, a resident of the Folts Home since July 1999, and formerly of 3 Winton Lane, Dolgeville, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at Folts Home. Lucy was born in Dolgeville on December 13, 1910, the daughter of Agostino and Thomasina Costanza and was educated in Dolgeville schools. Surviving her are her nieces and nephews, Anthony Jr. and his wife Sue Costanzo of Dolgeville, Patricia and Ted Bowker of Herkimer, Joseph Cacia of California, Joseph Costanzo of Kansas City, Mo., John Costanzo of Atlanta, Georgia, T.J. Costanzo of California; her great-nieces and nephews, Susan Bowker, Stephanie Costanzo, Michael Bowker, Anthony Costanzo; her sister-in-laws, Patricia Costanzo and Josephine Costanzo, both of Dolgeville. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Anthony and Sammy Costanzo, and a sister, Frances Cacia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 28, 2001, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Helmer Ave., Dolgeville. Rev. John F. Riley, former pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Roberts-Buck Funeral Home, 3 Faville Avenue, Dolgeville. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund of St. Joseph's Church in her name.

Charlotte Hill
ST. JOHNSVILLE — Charlotte Hill, 95, of 10 W. Main St., St. Johnsville, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2001, at her home.
She was born April 7, 1906, in Nelliston, the daughter of the late William and Wilhelmina (Sauer) Ostrom. She attended Fort Plain High School and lived most of her life in the St. Johnsville area.
She was married to Ralph Hill on July 31, 1946, in Johnstown. The couple shared a blessed union of 38 years until the passing of Mr. Hill on March 5, 1985.
For 39 years, until her retirement in 1971, Charlotte worked as a secretary of Beech-Nut Life Savers in Canajoharie.
She is survived by several cousins and friends, including Peter and Ann Tolfa of St. Johnsville.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at 1 p.m. at West St. Johnsville Cemetery with Sister Dolores Stevens of St. Patrick's Church officiating. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville.

William C. Arndt
NELLISTON — Mr. William C. Arndt, 84, of Luft Lane, Nelliston, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at home after a long illness. He was born on Sept. 14, 1916 in  Pennsylvania, son of William and Rositta Owens Arndt. Mr. Arndt was educated at Salisbury Center School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a resident of Salisbury Center and an area resident since 1946. On June 19, 1982 he married Aleicia Avery in Salisbury Center. Mr. Arndt was predeceased by two wives, Arlene Seely Arndt and Velma Avery Arndt, who died on March 3, 1980. Survivors include his wife, Aleicia Arndt of Nelliston; a step-daughter, Evedean Sierra of Palatine Bridge; a sister, Joan Stallman of Little Falls; three step-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at the Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center St., Fort Plain on Saturday, June 23 at 10 a.m. with Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. Interment will be in Fort Plain Cemetery. Calling hours will place on Friday (today), June 22 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service, PO Box 126, Canajoharie, NY 13317.

Arthur (Art) J. Getman
LITTLE FALLS — Arthur (Art) J. Getman, 77, of 1 Milligan St., Little Falls, a longtime Little Falls resident, passed away on Wednesday afternoon June 20, 2001 in Little Falls Hospital.
Art was born on Jan. 6, 1924 in Columbia Center, son of the late Albert J. and Hazel (Freeman) Getman. He received his education in Ilion schools. He lived in Ilion and Herkimer at one time until moving to Little Falls. Art and Elizabeth A. Peeler joined in marriage at First United Methodist Church in Herkimer on May 8, 1966. Rev. Fred Cotnam officiated the ceremony. He was last employed as a custodian for the Little Falls Baptist Academy in Little Falls and also worked for the former Snyder Bicycle Co., the former Standard Desk Company of Herkimer, and at one was employed with the Little Falls Evening Times. He was of the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church, Little Falls.
Art is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth; a sister, Janet Parslow of Howes Cave; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family and pay their respects at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls on Saturday morning, June 23 from 10-11 a.m.
Art's funeral will commence at 11 a.m. from the Enea Funeral Home, Little Falls, on Saturday morning, June 23 where prayer will be offered by Rev. Donald Dixon, pastor of First Baptist Church, Little Falls. Procession will follow to Mountain View Memorial Gardens where Art will be laid to rest. Remembrances in honor of Art can be made to a charity of one's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
A very special thank you on behalf of the family goes out to Little Falls Hospital, especially mentioning its emergency room, intensive care unit, and third floor east for all of the care given. Also, a very special thank you to Dr. Buch for his care and concern shown to Art during this difficult time.
