Elizabeth Pratt
WATERVLIET - Mrs. Elizabeth Hayes Pratt, 80, of Manor Avenue, Cohoes, formerly of Watervliet, died Tuesday at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Born in Troy, Mrs. Pratt was a longtime resident of Watervliet.
She had lived in Florida for 10 years before returning to the area three years ago.
Mrs. Pratt was a 1939 graduate of Watervliet High School and was a member of the "39ers."
She was a comptometer operator for the Grand Union Co. in Waterford for many years until retiring. She worked for the Watervliet Arsenal during World War II and was also a homemaker.
Mrs. Pratt was a member of St. Patrick's Parish.
She was the widow of Harold S. Pratt.
Survivors include two sons, Edward B. Cheney Jr. of Waterford and James H. Pratt of Clifton Park; a daughter, Mary Pratt Rogers of Cohoes; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, followed at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

George P. Carta
CLIFTON PARK - George P. Carta, 53, of Via Da Vinci, died Wednesday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after being stricken.
Mr. Carta was born in Brooklyn.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Gianni Carta, whom he married in 1969; a son, George Carta Jr. of Clifton Park; two daughters, Christine M. Flanagan of Schenectady and Andrea Jean Carta of Clifton Park; three sisters, Angela Giordano of New Jersey, Linda Sforza of Lindenhurst and Joanne Carta-Kaufman of East Islip; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward the Confessor Church.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9.

Irene Smith
TROY - Miss Irene Smith, who was a licensed practical nurse at the former Leonard Hospital in Troy for several years, died Wednesday at the Eden Park Nursing Home in East Greenbush after a long illness. Miss Smith, formerly of Fifth Avenue, was 97.
Born in Pink Hill, N.C., Miss Smith lived in Troy since 1942.
Miss Smith was a member of Christ Church, United Methodist in Troy.
She was a member of the Palestine Star Chapter 167, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a nephew, Gilbert E. Smith of Arlington, Va.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pink Hill Funeral Home, Highway 11, South Pink Hill, N.C.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 this afternoon and 6 to 8 tonight at the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick St., during which members of the OES will conduct a service at 7:30.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery, Pink Hill.

John Reedy Sr.
PATTERSONVILLE - John P. Reedy Sr., who was a transportation supervisor for Adirondack Beverage, died Wednesday at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. Mr. Reedy, of Rynex Corners Road, was 64.
Born in Schenectady, Mr. Reedy lived in Pattersonville for more than 20 years.
He retired in 1994.
Mr. Reedy was a former member of the Rotterdam Junction Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Kathaleen Adair Reedy; two daughters, Terry Hutchins and Beth M. Stenard, both of Colonie; two sons, John P. Reedy Jr. of Scotia and Phillip J. Reedy of Rotterdam; a brother, Harold Reedy of Schenectady; a sister, Margaret Plough of Schenectady; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Princetown Road, Rotterdam. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
Burial will be in Woestina Reformed Cemetery, Rotterdam Junction.

Katie E. Knapp
SCHENECTADY - Miss Katie E. Knapp, 86, of Linden Street, died Saturday at the Ellis Center for Long Term Care after a short illness.
Born in Gloversville, Miss Knapp lived most of her life in Schenectady.
She was a seamstress for the Geraldine Pocketbook Factory in Gloversville. She was later a cleaning person at Mohawk Office Products in Schenectady.
Survivors include several cousins.
The service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union St.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in Vale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to charity.

Kevin H. Gary
SCHENECTADY - Kevin H. Gary, who was an engineering technician for the New York state Department of Transportation in Albany for 14 years, died Wednesday at St. Clare's Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Gary, of Kings Road, was 49.
Born in Albany, Mr. Gary was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Gary was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Dennis M. and Brian K. Gary, both of Schenectady; and two sisters, Mary Lynn Olbrych of Niskayuna and Laurie J. Gary-Garcia of California.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St.
Calling hours will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Cremation will take place in Parkview Crematory.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. Monday at St. Paul the Apostle Church.

Shirley Connelly
GLENVILLE - Mrs. Shirley Sledziewski Connelly, who was a clerk at the Scotia Post Office for 15 years, died Wednesday at home after a long illness. Mrs. Connelly, of Closson Road, was 51.
Born in Schenectady, Mrs. Connelly was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Connelly was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Scotia.
Survivors include a son, Timothy D. Febbie Jr. of Scotia; her fiance, Herbert Hanke of Glenville; a sister, Loretta Parent of Scotia; a brother, Benjamin Sledziewski of Scotia; and three grandchildren.
The services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave., Scotia, and at 11 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Scotia.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Cremation will take place at the Vale Cemetery Crematorium, Schenectady.

Stanley Albright
SCHENECTADY - Stanley D. Albright, 85, of Bradford Street, died Tuesday at home after a long illness.
Born in New York, Mr. Albright was a truck driver for the town of Bethlehem for many years, retiring in 1978.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Leona Coton Albright; two sons, Robert and Edward Albright, both of Rotterdam; three daughters, Joan Croote of Burnt Hills, Marion Richards of Ballston Spa and Barbara Agans of Colonie; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway at Guilderland Avenue. A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.

Ruth Lundequist Steindl, worked at Valley Hospital
SCOTIA - Mrs. Ruth Lundequist Steindl, who worked at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for 17 years, died Wednesday after a long illness. Mrs. Steindl, of Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Socha Plaza, was 85.
Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Steindl lived in Ridgewood, N.J., before moving to Glenville in 1988.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ridgewood and the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Glenville.
Mrs. Steindl was a member of the Residence Council of the Kingsway Manor in Schenectady.
Her husband, Frederick Steindl, whom she married July 24, 1940, died in 1991.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Kellyhouse of Burnt Hills and Virginia Meyer of Lowell, Mass.; a brother, Richard Lundequist of Montauk; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 547 Saratoga Road, East Glenville. A calling hour will precede the service in the Fireside Room of the church.
Burial will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
