Alice Vogt VanTroost
CANANDAIGUA - Alice Vogt VanTroost, 81, formerly of Route 5 & 20 in Aloquin, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005 at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua.
There were no prior calling hours. A memorial service to celebrate her life was held Saturday, Feb. 12 at John C. Johnson Funeral Home in Canandaigua.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Continuing Care Center, c/o F.F. Thompson Foundation, 350 Parrish St., Canandaigua 14424; or the Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester 14620.
Mrs. VanTroost was born in Geneva, the daughter of George H. and Mildred Ottley Vogt. She grew up in Seneca Castle, and enjoyed many years of farming with her family in Aloquin.
Mrs. VanTroost was Hopewell Town Clerk from 1967 to 1983, a member of the Hopewell Fire Department Auxiliary, and a lifelong member of the Pomona Grange and the Hopewell Grange, where she was the first woman to hold the office of Master. Mrs. VanTroost was also a member of the Aloquin-Flint United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting and gardening.
She is survived by two daughter, Mary Ellen (Richard) Darling of Clifton Springs and Cynthia (Gerald) Schmitz of Rochester; two sons, James (Susan) VanTroost and David VanTroost, both of Canandaigua; five grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) VanTroost, Jill (Andrew) Poremba, Dawn Waite, Jeffery (Deana) Darling and Amy VanTroost; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Waite, Celia Rose Darling, Caroline Alice Darling and Jake Poremba; several nieces and nephews; and her extended family at the Continuing Care Center.
She was predeceased by her husband, James "Jake" VanTroost in 1981; and her three brothers, Albert, Robert and George Vogt.
Corrina C. Wilson
CLIFTON SPRINGS - Corrina C. Wilson, 39, of 83 E. Main St., died at home Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005.
Friends called Wednesday, Feb. 9 at the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps. Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 10 at the funeral home with the Deacon Ed Sergeant officiating. Spring burial will be in Oaklawn cemetery.

Corrina was born June 12, 1965, the daughter of David and Arvilla Friends Wilson Sr., and had been a resident of the East Main Street house since its opening..
She is survived by her parents, David and Arvilla Wilson Sr. of Phelps, two brothers, David (Tanya) Wilson Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; and Mark (Rosemary) Wilson of Garner, NC; grandfather, Naaman Wilson of Wellsboro, Pa.; a special friend, Vicki Krusen of Elmira; three nieces, Brandy, Kayla and Amber; twin nephews, Lucas and Liam, all of Virginia Beach; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her loving family at the East Main Street house.
Rose Mary Hayes
GENEVA - Rose Mary Hayes, 83, passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005 at the Geneva Living Center South.
Friends called Wednesday, Feb. 16 at the McGuigan Funeral Home. Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 17 at the funeral home at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in Oaklawn cemetery in the spring.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis-St. Stephen's School or DeSales High School.
Rose Mary was born May 21, 1921, in Clifton Springs, the daughter of John E. and Mary Plunkett Hayes. She graduated from DeSales High School, worked at Huron Optical for 21 years and retired from the Purchasing Department at Geneva General Hospital.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Church, the Wide Awake Grange in Phelps, Geneva Business & Professional Women's Club and the Catholic Daughters.
She is survived by a brother, John E. (Judy) Hyes Jr. of Canandaigua; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Edwards of Geneva; 15 nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews; and four great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Michael M. Main
ELMIRA HEIGHTS - Michael M. Main, 56, of Glenwood Avenue, passed away after an extended battle with cancer Monday, Feb. 7, 2005 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa.
His funeral services were Friday, Feb. 11 at the Barber Funeral Home in Horseheads. Internment was in Woodlawn National cemetery, where military honors were accorded.
Mike was a graduate of Phelps High School and a veteran of the Marine Corps. Prior to his illness, he was a machinist with Hardinge Inc. in Elmira Heights. As a Vietnam veteran, Mike was a member of the 3rd Force Service Regiment, 5th Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force in the Pacific. He was also a recipient of two meritorious service mast awards.
He is survived by his wife of more than 26 years, Sherry Weller Main; his father, Clinton J. Main of Phelps; two brothers, John (Rita) Main and Paul (Jackie) Main, both of Newark; in-laws, Lawrence and Helen Weller of Horseheads; an uncle, Francis Palmer of Elmira; an aunt, Kathryn Park of Elmira; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mike was predeceased by his mother, Christina Palmer Main.
Mary Lou Years
NEWARK/WOLCOTT - Mary Lou Years, 83, of Wolcott formerly of Newark, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005 at the home of her daughter in Wolcott.
Friends called Thursday, Feb. 17 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home in Newark. Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 18 at the First United Methodist Church, in Newark, with the Rev. Elton Smith officiating. Burial will be in East Newark cemetery

Mrs. Years was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Buffalo, the daughter of Carl and Ruth Marsh Lounsbery. For many years, she worked for Mobil Chemical and Sarah Coventry, retiring in 1984.
She was an active member of the Girl Scouts, the Newark Fire Department Auxiliary, the Arcadia Memorial Post VFW, and had hiked both the Appalachian Trail and the Finger Lakes Trail end to end.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary "Penny" (Gary) Shaw of Marion, Lucia (Robert) Monroe of Wolcott, Marcia (Richard) Maslyn of Phelps and Pamela (Max) Slifer of Colts Neck, NJ; a son, Melvin I. (Jennifer) Years of Newark; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucia Adams and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Gerber, both of Fairport; several nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband, Melvin A. Years, in 1957; a son, Roger A. Years, in 1991; and a granddaughter, Brandy Nash; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Nash, in 1997.
Orlando J. Greco Sr.
GENEVA - Orlando J. Greco Sr., 87, of 111 S. Pre-Emption St. passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at the Huntington Living Center.
Family and friends called Tuesday, Feb. 22 at the Palmisano Funeral Home. The Sons of Italy Lodge 2397 met at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 23 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.

Mr. Greco was born Jan. 28, 1918, in Phelps, the son of John and Asunda Chiarilli Greco. He worked as a truck driver for Malcuria Trucking, Finewood of Rochester, Ontario Sand and Gravel and Consolidated Gas. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 2397 and of St. Francis de Sales Church.
He is survived by his sons, Orlando J. (Marlene) Greco Jr. of Geneva and Daniel (Karen) Greco of Waterloo; four daughters, Kathi (Brian) Feldman and Karen (Russell) Hacker Jr., both of Seneca Falls, Paula (Thomas) Tindall of Geneva, and Sandy Carnevale of Clyde; three brothers, Albert Greco of Tucson, Ariz.; and Francis and Anthony Greco of Geneva; a sister, Mary Valerio of Syracuse; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Dolores M. Pitcher
MANCHESTER - Dolores M. Pitcher, 67, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005 at Clifton Springs Hospital.
Friends called Friday, Feb. 25 at the Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home in Manchester. Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 26 at the funeral home.

Dolores was born in Newark, the daughter of Earl and Ethel Vanderbilt. She retired from Xerox Corp. in 1999 and lived in Walworth before moving to Manchester.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Morley of Clifton Springs and Crystal (Stacy) Wisner of Portville; two sons, Richard Morley of New Mexico and Brian (Kathy) Pitcher of Manchester; her mother, Ethel Vanderbilt of Newark; and 10 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father, Earl Vanderbilt, in 1972.
Isaphine "Ike" Sommers
CANANDAIGUA - Isaphine "Ike" Sommers, 94, a resident of Clark Manor House, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005 at Clifton Springs Hospital Extended Care.
There were no calling hours. Her funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Feb. 26 at St. Mary's Church, in Canandaigua. Interment will be in St. Agnes cemetery in Clifton Springs at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to St Mary's Church or Clifton Springs Hospital Extended care.
Mrs. Sommers was born in Canandaigua, attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy. She was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Mrs. Sommers, formerly of 190 Parrish St. in Canandaigua, was an avid bridge player and enjoyed golf and ceramics. She worked for 18 years at the village of Clifton Springs Board of Elections. Mrs. Sommers loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, James M. (Patricia) Sommers of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Kathleen (Robert) Curry of Meriden, Conn.; and Caryl Ann Gersbach of Canandaigua; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Sommers, in 1985; two brothers, Donald and Marion Pierce; and two sisters, Doris Benham and Wilma Wheeler.
Christine Ufholz
CLIFTON SPRINGS - Christine Ufholz, 88, of Main St., died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home.
Friends and family attended calling hours on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at the Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, in North Rose. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Leonard Humbert officiating. Burial will be in Rose cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Clifton Springs Nursing Home.
Mrs. Ufholz was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Yugoslavia, the daughter of Frederick and Margaret Vogel. She was a member of the Rose Grange, the Oasis and enjoyed flowers and crafts.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, John Sr.; four sons, John Jr. (Eppie) of Sodus, Philip (Cheryl) of South Butler, Josef of Waterloo and Peter (Lisa) of Lyons; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Frieda Ufholz of Wolcott; a niece, Rosemarie (David) Lewis of Wolcott; two nephews, Horst (Donetta) Ufholz of Rose and Adam (Tammy) Ufholz of Rose; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; and many friends and family here as well as in Canada and Germany.
She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Adam Ufholz; and great-nephews, Karl Ufholz.
Graydon J. Williams
CLIFTON SPRINGS-Graydon J. Williams, 76, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, died in Indianapolis on February 22, 2005. Graydon was born August 5, 1928, in Hunlock Creek, PA, the oldest child of David and Merle Williams, formerly of Hibbard Avenue. He graduated in the CSCS Class of 1946 and went to Fredonia State Teachers College for a year before joining the US Air Force. He was assigned to the Air Force Jazz Band and traveled across Europe for several years playing trumpet and trombone behind Bob Hope and many other stars, entertaining our troops in the era of the Berlin Airlift.
Graydon returned to the States in 1952 and married
Joanne Kniess of Greeley, CO. The newlyweds moved to Boston where he studied at the New England Conservatory of Music for six years, earning degrees in jazz musical arranging. He then served several years on the faculty of College of the Ozarks before moving to California as Director of Bands at CalPoly, San Luis Obispo. His moonlighting jazz combos did hundreds of performances at weddings, state fairs, night clubs, and dances, and he wrote the musical arrangements for many of the Miss California contestants.
He was predeceased by his wife and is survived by a sister, Pat (Duane) Wakefield of Port Orange, FL, and two brothers, David Glenn (Ada) of Louisville, KY, and Gail (Hannah) of Montgomery, AL, all graduates of CSCS, two daughters, Donna (Neal) Feaver of Tampa, FL, and Evelyn of Morro Bay, CA, a son Donald (Diane) of Los Osos, CA, four grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. His ashes will be interred in Los Osos, CA.
Mary Ann Welker
CLIFTON SPRINGS - Mary Ann Welker passed away on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005 after a strong fight with medical complications.
Caring friends and family called Monday, Feb. 21 and Tuesday, Feb. 22 at the Welker home.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home in Palmyra. Private burial will be in Port Gibson cemetery.

She will be remembered by her devoted husband, Daryle; her daughter, Darya (Stuart) Rotblat; her mother, Anna Copeland; a brother, Don (Sheila) Copeland; two brothers-in-law, Earl and Ray Welker, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by an infant son, Tyler; her father, Merle Copeland; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dorothy and Raymond Welker.
