MACEDON - Died on February 12, 2012. Predeceased by his wife, Linda in 1997. Murphy, Michael "Mike" Patrick

PALMYRA / MACEDON / ONTARIO - Died suddenly on February 10, 2012 at age 41. Beloved husband of Kris; father of Collin and Shaun; son of Margaret Murphy and Stephen (MaryLou) Murphy; brother of Dan (Amanda); nephew of George (Cindy) Trapp; son-in-law of Ann and Charlie Schmidt; brother-in-law of Mike (Kim) Cahill; uncle of Ashley, Amanda and Hannah Cahill. Also survived by many cousins and friends.

Mike was a New York State Licensed Funeral Director and was owner of Murphy Funeral Services of Ontario, Palmyra, and Macedon. Mike was also involved in many civic and professional organizations and had a joy for life that marked all of his actions.
All are invited to call 3-7 PM on Monday at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1961 Ridge Rd, Ontario and 3-7 PM on Tuesday at the PAYNE & MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1040 Rt 31, Macedon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Wednesday at the St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish at the St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Ontario, followed by his Committal Service at Palmyra cemetery. Ocala, Fl. formerly of MACEDON - Born June 15, 1929 in Dansville, NY. Marian went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2012. She was predeceased by her first husband, Thomas McEvoy, her son James McEvoy, her brother Paul Pfuntner & her sister Virginia Lay. Marian is survived by her husband, Daniel W. Curtin of Ocala, Florida; her brothers, Richard Pfuntner, Francis Pfuntner, James Pfuntner; her sisters, Doris Miles, Eileen King, Beatrice Robinson & Barbara Frey. Marian is the beloved mother of Martin McEvoy & Diane, Edward McEvoy & Donna, Richard McEvoy & Mery, & Stephen McEvoy. She will be missed by many loving grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Marian lived most of her life in Macedon, NY & retired to Ocala, FL. She was always very active in her church community wherever she lived. Volunteering was important to Marian. The Macedon Rescue Squad, American Legion, Senior Citizens Group, Meals on Wheels & St. Patrick’s Church were a few recipients of her care. She was proud of receiving many “awards” for her services to the local communities in which she lived. Williamson/ONTARIO - On October 18, 2012 at the age of 91. Arlene was born on August 14, 1921 in Williamson, NY to Harrison and Hazel Eaton. She was predeceased by her husband Theron E. Scharles. Survived by her daughters Bonnie Scharles and Gloria Casselman; grandchildren Kristi (Richard) Mack and Kelli Casselman; great grandchildren Amanda and Jacob Steurrys, Kirsten McCauley, Evan and Jenna Beck, Doug Webber, Shirley Retz and Heather Mack; great-great grandchildren Carter Canale and Addison Steurrys; brother Karl (Betty) Eaton; sister Donna (Kenneth) VanDeWalle. Bills, Heather Lyn

PALMYRA - Heather Lyn Bills, 29, of Palmyra entered into Heaven on Oct. 15th, 2012 after a courageous and challenging 10 year battle with cancer. Heather was born Nov. 18, 1982, daughter of Arthur and Lori Bills. She is survived by her parents, sister Darcie Bills; half-sisters Kimberly Fanning, Kelly Bills; special Aunt Colleen and cousin Corin. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones; faithful companions Oliver, Chester and Stewie. Predeceased by paternal Grandparents Arthur Sr. and Shirley Bills and maternal Grandparents Hugh and Jeanne Williams and half-sister Melanie Bills. Heather was a 2001 graduate of Pal-Mac and after several years of treatment, continued her education at FLCC where she graduated High Honor Phi Theta Kappa in 2009. Heather was a very generous, loving, giving and inspiring person and unknowingly touched many lives. She greatly appreciated the support of the Palmyra community. Heather’s sense of humor and faith in God carried her through her long and sometimes difficult journey. A memorial service will be held at the Palmyra 1st Baptist Church, 100 West Main Street, Palmyra, Thurs. Oct. 18th at 6pm. There will be no prior calling hours. Schenk, George Byron

ONTARIO - George was called home on October 15, 2012 to be at peace with the Lord after a courageous battle with a long illness. Predeceased by his parents, Gordon & Elizabeth Schenk, & James & Mary McBride. Survived by the love of his life of 48 years, Sandee; 2 sons, Gordon (Leslie), Randy (Jamie) Schenk; 8 grandchildren, Megan, Benjamin, Liam, John, Nicholas, Jameson, Courtney & Brody Schenk; sister Roberta Douglas; 3 brothers, Gordon, William (Joan) & John (Janice) Schenk. George had a career working with computers, & assisted Sandee with her daycare facility, as he shared her love for children. George especially enjoyed his time at the beach with his family during summer vacations.

Black, Reuben C.

Reuben Carl Black, 91 of 141 West Foster Street, Palmyra, NY, passed away from pneumonia on October 2, 2012 at F. F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. He was born September 15, 1921 in Cambria County, Flinton, PA, the third child of seven children to Lowery Owen and Ida Margaret (Shidler) Black. Reuben is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley L. (Riling) Black; daughter Cheryl A Perks of Fort Erie, Canada, son David A Black of Manchester, NY, son Donald E Black of Manchester, NY and son Robert P. and his wife Renai (Banta) Black of Canandaigua, NY; Grandchildren; Nicholas and Jennifer of South Carolina, Shawn and Lisa of Arizona, Derek and Mary of North Carolina, and Shane and Natasha of Florida. Great-grandchildren; Kain, Tyler, Kattie, and Wes. Also surviving are brother-in-law George Delozier of PA and sister-in-law Helen (Shope) Black of PA, brother and sister-in-law Robert P. and wife (Ruth Cherry) Riling of Tyrone, PA and numerous nephews and nieces. All of Reuben’s siblings are deceased: George, Richard, Ruth (Black) Stull, Cecil, Lois Pauline (Black) Delozier and Ida Pearl (Black) Peters. He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942-1945 and Army Reserves until 1948. After completing Radio Mechanic School in Soux Falls, Iowa, he served overseas in England for approximately two years as S/Sgt in the 71st Troop Carrier Squadron, 434th Troop Carrier Group. As a combat crew member of a Troop Carrier Squadron, he and his crew members completed many missions transporting paratroopers, supplies and equipment and transporting wounded soldiers back to England in the initial phases of the invasion of the continent. His service earned him the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 5 bronze stars, Distinguished Unit Badge and a number of other medals. Upon discharge from the Army, Reuben completed a training course in Automobile Mechanics at Gloversville, NY and was then employed as a mechanic for 10 years. He attended Williamsport Technical Institute in 1961 to 1963, where he earned a degree in Electrical and Mechanical Drafting. After graduating from WTI, He and his family moved to Palmyra, NY; and, he was employed for 10 years as a draftsman by Peck Engineering Associates in Fairport. He was then employed by Xerox in Webster, NY and retired from there in 1982 after 10 years of service in the engineering department as a draftsman. Cremation has taken place. Interment and a memorial service and celebration of his life will be held privately at Blair Memorial Park near Bellwood, PA at a family gathering in 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620. Phone 585-760-5400. Reuben and Shirley were married on September 8, 1958 in Altoona, PA. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed camping, fishing, and many wonderful vacation trips with his family over the years, and visiting with his numerous relatives in Pennsylvania. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to friends and neighbors and to the staff and nurses at F. F. Thompson Hospital for their love, care and support they gave Reuben.

Pehta, Andrea L. “Anne”

ONTARIO - Died peacefully on October 3, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her son Timothy Pehta, sister Pamela “Zeke” Eadie, & longtime companion Bob Shea. Survived by her daughter Bonnie (Steve Young) Hill; granddaughter Caitlyn Hill; & many special friends. No prior calling hours.
