Reeves V, Michael & Michelle Merz, Jessica Leigh & Joshua Reeves, James, David & Brittney Brennan, Daniel Reeves; sisters Ruth Quigley and Joy (Gene) Ferguson; many nieces and nephews. David was a World War II Navy Veteran and a retiree from Xerox. He enjoyed spending time with family, being at the 1000 Islands or hopping on his motorcycle just to take a ride. All services private. ONTARIO - Died on May 19, 2004 at age 46. Survived by his wife Cathy; children Michelle & Eric; parents Lloyd & Thelma Haak; brother Paul (Lucinda) Haak; sister Susan Jante; godson Chad; loving in-laws Pat & Nellie Landro; brothers & sisters-in-law; several nieces & nephews. Andy was a loving husband, father, son, brother, friend & teacher. Andy graduated from Niagra University in 1979 and received a Masters Degree in education at Nazareth College. PALMYRA - passed away Thursday May 6, 2004 at age 70. Bill is survived by son William (Penny) Nelson Jr., & Daughter Linda (Mike) Bombarger. Loved by grandchildren; Michael Bombarger Jr., Christine Bombarger, Stacie Nelson, Mathew Bombarger, Katie Nelson & Steven Bombarger; sister Mary Henderson; brothers Edward (Ann) Nelson, Joseph (Elizabeth) Nelson, Thomas (Sue) Nelson and John Nelson. Bill was predeceased by his wife Jane, parents Stanley & Evelyn, and by brothers Robert & James Nelson. William is an U.S. Navy Veteran, having served aboard the USS Rockbridge (APA 228) & the USS Borie (DD 704). He was retired from Rochester Telephone and was Past Commander of the James R. Hickey American Legion Post in Palmyra. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday May 10th, 10:30 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Church, 6 Canandaigua Street in Shorstville. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Barbara; children Victoria Ferris, Tim (Rosella) Ferris, Alan (Cheryl) Popenhusen-Rowe, Amy (Tim) Freitas, Laurel (David) Popenhusen-Bruinix; grandchildren, Alison, Robin, Tom, Zackary, Greg, Kelly, Taylor, Colton & Davey; sister Jean Parker; nephews Scott & Jeff Parker; aunt Jessie Smith; uncle Alvon Eldredge; & several cousins. Glenn was a 50 year active member of the Farmington Volunteer Fire Dept., area farmer & was an antique dealer. PALMYRA - Mrs. Elizabeth A. Smith died at home, with her family, on April 10, 2004, at the age of 76 after suffering a stroke. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Vernon A. and Alice M. Smith of Greenfield, TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqueline A. and Robert Ray, Karen E. and David A. Dennie, Betty J. Whyman and Paul DeMay, all of Palmyra, and Nella A. and Mike Bloomstrom of Newark; brother Francis J. Rush of Palmyra and sister Shirley Koester of Lyons; 9 grand children and 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, in-laws including Ruth Rush of Newark, Esther Rush of Clifton Springs, Albert and Patricia Smith of Greece, and many special friends. The family offers special thanks to Dr. Paul Heasley and the nursing staff at the Newark Wayne Hospital. Mary Jane is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 44 years Douglas; daughter Michelle (Eric) Broekhuizen of Oswego; son Michael (Megan) Smith of Macedon; grandsons Matthew and Cody Broekhuizen of Oswego and Austin Smith of Macedon; her parents Oscar and Minnie Roegiers of Macedon; brother Norman (Linda) Roegiers of Nakomis, FL; sisters Debbie (Bob) Johnson of Marion and Judy (Roger) Klauck of Henrietta; uncle Elmer Clark; cousins, nephews, nieces and many dear friends. She is survived by her niece Dixie Prittie; nephew Lewis (Ann) Tucker; & great nieces & nephews. Elida was born in Watertown on March 23, 1907, attended Flower Avenue Elementary School, graduated from Watertown High School & from Potsdam Normal School in 1928. She taught Kindergarten in Alexandria Bay for 13 years, & retired from Watertown Public School System. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church for 83 years.
