Mary Ellen Vormwald Dovi, 81, of 4 Westfield Park, Cortland, died Sunday. Born in Cortland, she graduated from St. Mary's High School and Cortland State Teachers College. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Cortland and a member of Third Order of Franciscans. She taught kindergarten in Oneida for a few years and Americanization classes for immigrants in Cortland. She was a founding member of Cortland County Citizens for Life. Her husband of 52 years, Anthony J. Sr., died previously.Survivors: A daughter, Patricia A. Dovi of Massachusetts; six sons, Anthony Jr. of Cayuga, Philip of Dryden, Thomas, Charles, Joseph and David, all of Cortland; a sister, Matilda Hopkins of Massachusetts; a brother, Paul Vormwald of Cortland; 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Services: 9 a.m. Thursday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cortland. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland. Dorothy B. Cummings Girvan, 84, of 150 Old Liverpool Road, Liverpool, died March 29. Born in Syracuse, she graduated in 1936 from Assumption High School. She retired in 1984 as an executive assistant and office manager at Weather Products in Syracuse after 25 years. Her husband, John W., died in 2001.Survivors: A daughter, Victoria Girvan of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Nantucket, Mass.; a sister, Georganna Dobey of North Syracuse; a grandson. Services: 9 a.m. Sept. 2 in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1001 Tulip St., Liverpool. Maher-Melbourne Funeral Home, South Euclid, Ohio, had arrangements. Julia M. Capriotti Glavin, 74, of 183 Oakley Drive, Syracuse, died Monday. She was born in Pittston, Pa. She was employed at the original Hillbrook Detention Center from 1966 to '75 and retired from Van Duyn Home & Hospital in 1985. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Her husband, James P., died in 1973.Survivors: Three daughters, Margaret Lazore of Cicero, Marie and Sharon Glavin, both of Syracuse; four sons, James K. and Edward A., both of Onondaga Hill, John F. of Altamont Springs, Fla., and Daniel B. of Syracuse; four sisters, Diane Camardella of DeWitt, Josephine Lombardo of Liverpool, Mary Calogero of Baldwinsville and Ann Marie Stevens of East Syracuse; four brothers, Louis Capriotti of Syracuse, Salvatore and Anthony Capriotti, both of East Syracuse, and Joseph Capriotti of Camillus; eight grandchildren. Hilda G. Hillsberg

Hilda Glazer Hillsberg, 78, of Wellington, Fla., died Aug. 12. Born in Syracuse, she lived there until moving to Wellington 15 years ago. She graduated from Central High School and attended Syracuse University. She taught at Corcoran High School. She sang in the choir at Temple Adath Yeshurun before joining Temple Society of Concord, where she became a board member and a member of the Sisterhood. She was a member of the National Council of Jewish Women and Hadassah.Survivors: Her husband of 54 years, Carroll; a daughter, Dr. Bonnie S. Hillsberg of  Washington, D.C.; a son, Neil of Upper Montclair, N.J.; a sister, Lillian Warren Dick of New Jersey; two grandchildren. Memorial services: Were in Royal Palm Beach, Fla. Palms West Funeral Home, Royal Palm Beach, had arrangements. Contributions: Any heart research charity.

Clifford L. Isbell, 69, of 16 W. Main St., Marcellus, died Saturday. He was born in Navarino. He graduated from Onondaga Central School. He lived many years in Cards Corners, Onondaga, before moving to Marcellus in 1988. He was a toolmaker for General Electric Co., and also worked at Carrier Corp., Easy Washer Co. and Morris Machine. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.Survivors: A daughter, Cindy Thayer of Grove City, Ohio; two sons, Douglas A. of Liverpool and Mark E. of Wilson, N.C.; two sisters, Eleanor Barr of Navarino and Marion Ryan of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Lyle W. of Navarino and Leon R. of Pompey; three grandchildren; a great-grandson. August Perry, 85, of West First Street, Fulton, died Monday. Born in Oswego, he lived there until moving to Fulton in 1987. He graduated in 1937 from Malone School for the Deaf. He retired in 1983 from ARC in Fulton. He had also worked at Netherland Dairy in Oswego. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Oswego.Survivors: A stepsister, Margaret Santoro Zerrahan of Syracuse; a stepbrother, Dominick Santoro of Florida. Ruth Greenia Reichert, 86, formerly of Fairmount Gardens, Syracuse, died Tuesday at Loretto. Born in Herkimer, she lived in Syracuse most of her life and in Camillus for four years. She was a nurse's aide at Community General Hospital for 18 years and had also worked at Crouse Hospital. She was a member of Syracuse Alliance Church. Her husband, Ernest W., died in 1983.Survivors: Three daughters, Patricia A. Swain of Canastota, Raylene J. Italiano of Ellwood City, Pa., and Kristina R. Jachim of Katy,  Texas; six sons, Norman L. Parry of Henderson, Nev., Girard E. Parry of Syracuse, Robert G. Parry of Baldwinsville, Howard E. Reichert of Camillus, Ernest W. Reichert Jr. of Chicago and Jeffrey W. Reichert of San Antonio,  Texas; 28 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren. Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Buranich Funeral Home. Burial,  White Chapel Memory Gardens.
