EVA M. ROBERGE

Eva M. Roberge, 86, of Tupper Lake, died Saturday, May 31, 2003 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born on July 13, 1916 in Notre Dame Des Bois, Quebec, she was the daughter of Wilfred and Hermine (Normandin) Beauparlant.

She was married to Omer Roberge on June 5, 1935. He predeceased her on March 24, 1971.

She is survived by two sons: Mr. Gerard Roberge and his wife Pierrette of Tupper Lake and Mr. Robert Roberge and his wife Patty of Spokane, WA, a daughter-in-law Carol Beaudette of Tupper Lake, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 2, from 1 to 2pm with a funeral service at 2pm at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Tupper Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad.

GERALD F. BRANCH

Gerald F. Branch, age 73, of Forest Home Road, Saranac Lake, died Monday, June 2, 2003 at his home.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on April 18, 1930, he was the son of Harland and Sarah (Raymond) Branch.

He is survived by his former wife JoAnn Branch of Saranac Lake, NY, three sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and his wife Jody Branch of Plattsburgh, NY, Gerald (Gary) and his wife Sharon Branch of North Kingston, RI and Jeffery and his wife Jemell Branch of Saranac Lake, NY, 5 grandchildren: Nathan and Stephine of Plattsburgh, NY, Emily of North Kingston, RI, Adam and Logan of Saranac Lake. He is also survived by one nephew: William Branch of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father: Harland Branch, his mother Sarah Raymond, and his brother Fred Branch.

Calling hours will be held at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, June 6, 2003 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. An American Legion Service will take place Friday at 7:30pm at the funeral home. A funeral service is tentatively set to take place at 11am on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. Interment will be in Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

GERALD F. BRANCH

Interment services have been set for Gerald F. Branch, age 73, of Forest Home Road, Saranac Lake, who died Monday, June 2, 2003 at his home.

An interment service will take place at 11am on Thursday, July 3, 203 at Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc.

JOHN "GUS" ELLIS

John Tamer "Gus" Ellis, 86, of Lindsay Avenue, Tupper Lake, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born December 19, 1916 in Harrisville, NY, he was the son of Lebanese immigrants, Tamer and Mary (Salamy) Ellis.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons: James and his wife Elaine of Tupper Lake, and Richard and his wife Kathy of Malone, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, Genevieve Kmack of Tupper Lake and Yvonne Humi of Bohemia, Long Island and one brother: John Salamy of Wappinger Falls, NY.

He was predeceased by his previous wives: Lena and Correine, one daughter: Patricia Bagshaw, one sister: Dora Salamy and three brothers: Michael, Tamer and Richard.

Friends may call at the Richer Funeral Home on Thursday, June 5, from 6pm to 9pm and Friday from 10am to noon. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 1pm at St. Alphonsus Church with Father Donald Kramberg officiating, assisted by Mr. Ellis' son, Deacon Jim Ellis.

Those wishing to remember Mr. Ellis through memorial donations are asked to consider the St. Alphonsus Parish Community Center Fund.

STANLEY LOUIS AMELL

Stanley Louis Amell, 77, of 22 Little Wolf Road, Tupper Lake, died at his home Tuesday, June 3, 2003 in care of his family and High Peaks Hospice.

He and the former Rena Alma Bishop were married on October 1, 1950.

Mr. Amell is survived by his wife of 52 years, four daughters: Judy and her husband Edward Noody of Lyons, NY, Bonnie and her husband Charles LaLonde, Deborah and her husband Gregory Clark, Kathy and her husband Norman Vachon, three sons: Kevin and his wife Jan, Kerry and his wife Louise, and Keith Amell, all of Tupper Lake. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one brother: Sherwood Amell of Tupper Lake, two sisters: Margaret Vezeau of Tupper Lake and Barbara Caron of Southington, CT.

He was predeceased by two brothers: James and Raymond and one sister: Christina LaVigne.

Calling hours were held Thursday at 11am at the Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake, followed by a Funeral Mass. A graveside service at Holy Name Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to High Peaks Hospice or the Tupper Lake Fire Department.

DON V. CHARLAND

Don V. Charland, 81, of Tupper Lake died Thursday, June 5, 2003 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born August 19, 1921 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Patrick and Rita (Gauthier) Charland.

In 1946, he married the former Janet Youmell. He is survived by his wife Janet, three daughters: Mrs. Dawn LaVigne and her husband Denis of Malone, Mrs. Kim Charland and her husband John Barden of Tupper Lake, Mrs. Amy Charland-Snoots and her husband Wes of Nokesville, VA, four grandchildren, and one sister: Theresa Dean of Rockhill, SC.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 8, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11am at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will follow with full military honors in the parish cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Tupper Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad or High Peaks Hospice.

RAYMOND HOWARD FULLER

Raymond Howard Fuller, 78, of Tallman Street, Tupper Lake, died Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

He was born March 10, 1925 in Tupper Lake, the son of Martin Timothy and Lillian (Jesmer) Fuller.

On July 17, 1954, he and the former Alice Mariange Disotel were married at St. Alphonsus Church.

Surviving are his wife Alice of 49 years, their son: Lyndon and his wife Patty and a grandson Joshua Fuller, all of Tupper Lake, and one brother: Herman of Ocala, Florida.

He was predeceased by three sisters: Mable LaBounty, Dorothy Sapiange and Pearl Hasford, and ten brothers: Harold, Floyd, Glenford, William, Wilmer, Roy, Leland, Lawrence, Earl and Herman.

Calling hours will be held at the Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake on Monday, June 9, 2003 from 6-9pm. A Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at 11am at St. Alphonsus Church with Father Donald Kramberg officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

KATHRYN E. PAYE

Kathryn E. Paye, age 66, of Saranac Lake, died Monday, June 9, 2003 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Saranac Lake on December 23, 1936, she was the daughter of Albon and Lucy (Morris) Hurlburt.

She is survived by her former husband Orville Paye of Saranac Lake, a sister: Evelyn Rich and her husband Dick of Tupper Lake, a brother: George Hurlburt and his wife Marian of Newcomb, NY, several nieces and nephews, several grand-nieces and nephews and many friends, including Jean and Tracy, the Murphy family and Nona Greenier.

Visitation will be held at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10am at the funeral home with Reverend Linda McIntyre, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

LELAND "CHIP" C. FLINT, JR.

Leland "Chip" C. Flint, Jr., age 36, of 4 Zehnder Road, Ambridge, died suddenly on Monday, June 9, 2003 at the Medical Center in Beaver, PA.

Born in Rochester, New York on October 9, 1966, he was the son of Leland and Wanda (Johnson) Flint.

He is survived by his father and mother Leland and Wanda Flint of Saranac Lake, one brother: Paul Flint of Saranac Lake, NY, his grandmother: Marion Fletcher of Vermontville, NY, his grandfather: Basil  Johnson of Bloomingdale, NY, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Bette Chesbrough, his step-grandfather Leon Chesbrough, his step-grandfather James Fletcher, paternal grandfather Rockwood Flint, and a niece and nephew.

Calling hours will be held at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 13, 2003 at 11am at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. with Reverend David Drake, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.

PAUL J. "BUMMER" DUPREE

Paul J. "Bummer" Dupree, age 47, of 139 Lake Street, Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the Organ Transplant Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on January 15, 1956, he was the son of Robert and Patricia (Quigley) Dupree. He married Diana Trummer June 7, 2002 in the Adirondack Medical Center Chapel in Saranac Lake. Dianna and Paul were the first couple to be married in the new chapel.

He is survived by his wife Dianna of Saranac Lake, NY, his mother Patricia Dupree of Saranac Lake, two stepsons: Justin and Daniel Trummer both of Saranac Lake, NY, four brothers: Peter and his companion Nadia, Michael and his wife Ann, William "Bill" Dupree, Thomas and his wife Wendy, all of Saranac Lake, two sisters: Barbara and her husband Roy Kristoffersen and Amy and her husband Tom Hagar both of Saranac Lake, NY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Dupree in 1998.

Calling hours will be held at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. in Saranac Lake on Friday from 4pm to 8pm. A Sons of the American Legion Service will take place at 7:45pm Friday followed immediately by a Fireman's Prayer Service. A Bible Vigil Service will take place at 8pm Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Saturday at St. Bernard's Church, with Reverend Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

Friends wishing to remember Paul Dupree may make memorial contributions to North Country Life Flight or the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home. The family also requests that family and friends consider giving the gift of life by registering as an organ donor.

JOSEPH H. PAYTON

Joseph H. Payton, of Averyville Road, Lake Placid, NY passed away at his home with his family by his side on June 11, 2003. He was born in Ossining, NY, the son of Henry and Marguerite (Hyland) Payton.

Mr. Payton is survived by his wife Helen M. (Jennings) Payton of Lake Placid, one son: Joseph Payton and his wife Susan of Lake Placid, one daughter: Denise Calvert and her husband Robert of Mahopac, NY and a sister: Rita Newman of Lighthouse Point, FL. He is also survived by four granddaughters: Jennifer Barney and her husband Matthew, Amy Wilmot and her husband Joseph, Jodi Payton and Heather Payton all of Lake Placid. There are also four great-grandchildren: Keegan, Payton and Eliza Barney and Hunter Wilmot, all of Lake Placid.

Friends are invited to call Friday, June 13, from 7pm to 9pm at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. A Bible Vigil will be held at 8:30pm at the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2003 at 10am at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. Reverend Patrick O'Reilly will officiate. Cremation will follow. Friends wishing to remember Joe are asked to consider donations in his memory be made to High Peaks Hospice, Box 840, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.

HELEN SWOBODA

Helen Swoboda, age 84, formerly of 34 Franklin Avenue, Saranac Lake, died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at the Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

Born in Ogdensburg, New York on October 11, 1918, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Loughlin) Rogers.

She married Fred Swoboda January 15, 1949 at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake. He predeceased her on June 14, 1964.

She is survived by her son-in-law Charles Moden of East Aurora, NY; one sister: Mrs. Michael (Isabelle) Osick of Glens Falls, NY; seven grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters: Ann Moden and Christine Barney.

Calling hours will be held at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, June 17, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A Catholic Daughters of America Service will be held Tuesday at 7:30pm at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:15am at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake with Reverend Patrick Mundy officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

EMILE L. COTE

Emile L. Cote, 75, of Tupper Lake, died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at CVPH Hospital in Plattsburgh. Born on June 17, 1927 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Adellard and Elizabeth (Jackson) Cote.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, one daughter: Virginia Cote Pfeil and her husband Roy of Ballston Lake and three grandsons: David, Kevin and Brian.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 15, from 4pm to 8pm at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11am at St. Alphonsus Church with the Reverend Donald Kramberg officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors in the parish cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Oncology Unit at CVPH or High Peaks Hospice in care of the funeral home.

AMELIA MCNICHOL

A Memorial Service for family and friends of Amelia McNichol will be held at the Uihlein Mercy Center Chapel on Friday, June 20, 2003 at 12 noon with Reverend Patrick O'Reilly, Chaplain, officiating.

Mrs. McNichol, 98, formally of 30 Greenwood Street, passed away at the Uihlein Mercy Center on Friday, April 18, 2003. She was survived by three sons: Edward and his wife Beverly, George and his wife Alice of Connecticut, and Robert and his wife Bernadette of New Hampshire. She is also survived by one daughter: Dorothea Pratt and her husband Raymond of Lake Placid. There are also 12 grandchildren and 17 grandchildren. Following the Memorial Mass, friends are invited to a reception at Howard Johnson's Restaurant on Saranac Avenue in Lake Placid. The Clark Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

LUCY MAE HOGLE

Lucy Mae Hogle, age 86, formerly of Bloomingdale, New York, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY.

Born in Bloomingdale, New York on January 31, 1917, she was the daughter of A.P. and Emily (Schairer/Strobel) Smith. She married Alan Hogle December 25, 1941 in Constableville, New York. Mr. Hogle predeceased her in December 2002. They had been married nearly 61 years.

Mrs. Hogle is survived by her daughter: Betty  Jackson of New Rochelle, New York, grandsons: Christopher of Briarwood, NY and Jeffrey of Paris, Maine, her niece: Patricia Stephenson of Bloomingdale, and nephew: Erwin (Joe) Strobel, Jr. of Victor, NY.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

JEANNINE ANNE MOODY

Jeannine Anne Moody, 64, of Highland Nursing Home in Massena, NY died on Saturday, June 28, 2003 at the Massena Hospital.

She was born July 3, 1939 in Tupper Lake, NY, the daughter of Leonard and Florence (Ward) Moody.

She is survived by her brothers: Reverend Thomas Moody of North Bangor, NY and Leonard Moody, Jr. of North Syracuse, NY and her sisters: Marian Moody of Combermere, Ontario and Nancy Flyte of Tupper Lake, NY. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces: Michael Moody of North Syracuse, Jennifer Rothgeb or Port St. Lucie, FL, April Flyte of Malone and Jason Flyte of Tupper Lake. Also surviving are her grand-nephews: Tyler Rothgeb of Port St. Lucie, FL and her grand-niece: Alexis Gordon of Malone.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home in Tupper Lake on Monday, June 30, 2003 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

VERONICA M. TROMBLEY

Veronica M. Trombley, age 64, of 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, died Thursday, July 3, 2003 at the Adirondack Medical Center.

Born in Saranac Lake, NY on September 14, 1938, she was the daughter of Ambrose and Stella (Bombard) Martin.

She married Charles Trombley, who predeceased her in 1988.

She is survived by one son: Perry Dawson of Saranac Lake, NY, one daughter: Stella Dawson of Tupper Lake, NY, three granddaughters, three grandsons, two great-granddaughters, two sisters: Hilda Pickreign of Palm Springs, FL and Marie Brown of Mexico. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Joseph, Bernard, Gaylord, Gilbert and Wilford Martin, and her sisters: Stella Deschaine, Veleta Pelkey and Viola Skiff.

Visitation will be at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 1pm to 3pm. A Funeral Service will immediately follow on Tuesday at 3pm at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc.
