Olga Sullivan
HERKIMER — Mrs. Olga Sullivan, 85, a longtime resident of Bellinger Avenue in Herkimer, passed away on Friday morning, March 31, 2000, at the Valley Health Services in Herkimer.
She was born on April 9, 1914, in McKees Rock,  Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Melnishyn) Krutz. She received her education in the Dolgeville-Salisbury area, and later went on to attend schools in Herkimer. On January 26, 1943, Olga joined in marriage with Jeremiah Sullivan in Herkimer. The couple had shared in a blessed union of over 27 years of marriage. Mr. Sullivan passed away on February 14, 1970. Olga was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer. She at one time had worked with the former Herkimer Hospital, and was last employed with Remington Arms in Ilion as an assembler. As a result of her working career, Olga obtained memberships with the Remington Arms Employee Association and the Remington Retirees Club. Ogla devoted herself to her family and in her free time enjoyed reading, bingo and playing cards.
She is survived by her family, including her children, Mary Elizabeth Sullivan of Albany, Veronica Sportello and her husband, Louis, of Herkimer, Jerry Sullivan and his wife, Pam, of Ilion, Maureen Harrer and her husband, Joe, of East Herkimer, and Patricia Sutch and her special friend, Ted Girolamo, of Utica; one sister, Ludmilla Swietlikowski and her husband, Leo, of Herkimer; one brother, Leo Krutz and his wife, Mary, of Utica; her grandchildren, Kathleen Kurdziolak, Jerry Sullivan Jr., Louis Sportello, Larry Sportello, Michael Sportello, Joe Harrer, Jim Harrer and Jason Harrer, and David and Matthew Sutch; eight great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins; her in-laws, Lydia Krutz of Little Falls and Frank Kelley of Middleville and her bingo buddies who were very special to Olga, Mary Howe, Cindy Howe, Carol DePalma and Madeline Ahern.
Olga was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Thomas, and her brothers, Michael and Edward Krutz.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, Herkimer, on Sunday, April 2, from 4-8 p.m. Due to the valiant efforts of its entire staff, contributions in Olga's name are asked to be considered to the Herkimer County Hospice. Envelopes may be obtained from the funeral home.
The funeral will commence on Monday, April 3, 2000, at 9 a.m. from the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N.  Washington St., Herkimer, and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Francis de Sales Church, North Bellinger Street, Herkimer, with the Reverend Peter Nabozny, pastor, celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.

F. Russell Rankins
MOHAWK — F. Russell Rankins, 98, formerly of 4 Green St., Mohawk, died on Thursday, May 4, 2000, at Folts Home, Herkimer, where he was a recent resident.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1901, in the town of Little Falls, the son of James Freeman and Esther Ingraham Rankins, and attended Little Falls schools. On June 12, 1926, he was married to Blanche Woodford in Mohawk. She died on July 20, 1992. In his early years, Russell worked at Remington Arms Co. and Cherry Burrell Co. He later owned and operated a dairy farm in Paines Hollow. Most recently Mr. Rankins worked as a machinist at the Bendix Corp. in Utica, retiring in 1966. He was a member of the Mohawk United Methodist Church for over 75 years and a former member of Paines Hollow Grange. Russell enjoyed working in his work shop. He and his wife also enjoyed their trips to Maine for many years.
Survivors include seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Willis "Bill" and June Rankins, Richard and Dorothy Rankins, Edwin and Wilma Rankins, David and Mary Rankins, and Ernest Rankins, all of Mohawk, Ivan and Nioga Rankins of Richfield Springs, and Walter and Penny Rankins of Malabar, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Isabelle Rankins; and his four brothers, Kenneth, Gene, James and Robert Rankins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2000, at the Murphy Funeral Service, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk, with the Rev. Debra Wollaber, pastor of the Mohawk United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be held in Dolgeville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, 3-6 p.m., at the Murphy Funeral Service, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. Donation envelopes are available at the Murphy Funeral Service, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk.

Elizabeth O'Neill Lockwood
NEWARK, Del. — Elizabeth O'Neill Lockwood, formerly of Little Falls, passed away in her sleep on April 25, 2000, in Newark, Del. Mrs. Lockwood was a long term resident of the city born here on Oct. 6, 1903. She grew up in Little Falls and was a member of St. Mary's Parish. She attended St. Mary's grammar school and Benton Hall high school in the city, and secretarial school in Albany. Elizabeth married John L. Lockwood, also of Little Falls in 1937. After her marriage to John, she lived in Boston, Hartford and  Washington, D.C. Upon John's death in 1967, Elizabeth returned to Little Falls and lived with her sister Anna M. O'Neill at 777 E. Main St. until 1987 when she moved near her son Charles in Delaware. Elizabeth will be buried on May 8 at Arlington National Cemetery in  Washington, D.C. with her husband John. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Holy Family Parish (St. Mary's Church) on June 2 at 12:10 in commemoration of her life.

Orlando J. Fusco
HERKIMER — Mr. Orlando J. Fusco, 82, of 324 William St., Herkimer, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at Faxton Hospital, Utica.
He was born on March 26, 1918, in Herkimer, the son of the late Salvatore and Angela (Cirelli) Fusco. Orlando was raised in Herkimer and was a graduate of Herkimer High School. Mr. Fusco enlisted with the U.S. Navy on Sept. 1, 1942. He served our country during World War II, and fought throughout the Atlantic and Pacific theaters of operation. Orlando often thought back upon having served in both theaters, and was very proud of this accomplishment. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 4, 1945. Upon relief from active duty Orlando held the rank of Sonarman 2nd Class.
He was united in marriage to Mary Macrina on Sept. 21, 1946, at St. Anthony's Church. The couple had resided in Herkimer for many years. Orlando had worked for many years with General Electric in Utica and at one time had worked with Remington Rand. Orlando was a member of the church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph in Herkimer. He was very proud to be an active life member of the Michael S. Pliseck VFW Post in Herkimer.
Orlando was known for having a "green thumb" and was very proud of his gardening work where he spent much of his time. His hard work in the garden was shown by recently receiving two citations from the Herkimer Garden Club. Orlando was also very proud of his service record and his dedication to our country with the U.S. Navy. He recently marched proudly in the Memorial Day Parade in Herkimer.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; two brothers, Gregory Fusco and his wife, Olga, of Herkimer and Anthony Fusco and his wife, Josephine, of Herkimer; four sisters, Adeline Lilli of Frankfort, Emma Lanza and her husband, Nick, of Herkimer, Claudine Grande of Herkimer and Olina Quinn and her husband, John, of Herkimer; many nieces, nephews, cousins and several in-laws.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Leonard and Arthur Fusco; and two sisters, Brady Trimboli and Marian Workman.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2000, at 9:30 a.m. from the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N.  Washington St., Herkimer, with the Reverend Robert Shinos, pastor of the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph, South Main Street, Herkimer, officiating. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, with honor guard being offered by representatives of the U.S. Navy.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8, from 4-8 p.m. The members of the Michael S. Pliseck Herkimer VFW Post are asked to gather at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Frances S. Klimacek
LITTLE FALLS — Frances S. Klimacek, 82, formerly of 37 Moreland St., Little Falls, and since December 23, 1999, a resident of the Folts Home, Herkimer, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at that facility.
She was born on Nov. 12, 1917, in East Springfield, the daughter of the late Peter F. and Edith (Stansel) Lyman. She was a graduate of East Springfield High School Class of 1936.
She was united in marriage to Samuel Klimacek on June 20, 1948, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls. Mr. Klimacek predeceased her on May 7, 1966.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Klimacek was employed at onetime as a book keeper for the former Herkimer Hardware Store for 10 years. She later was a recruiting manager for Stanley Home Products, after leaving that position she was employed at the Hanover China Co., Newark, N.Y., as a sales training manager. She was last employed as a payroll clerk of the former Focus Dress Co., Mohawk, retiring in 1982.
She is survived by seven nieces and nephews; 16 great nieces and nephews; and 17 great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Nevada M. Wilson, who died on Sept. 15, 1987, and Norma Trafton, who died March 1, 2000.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann St., Little Falls. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.

Jessica M. Ouellette
OPPENHEIM — Jessica M. Ouellette, 18, of 395 Belden Corners Road, Dolgeville, passed away Friday, June 2, 2000, following a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, where she had been a patient since May 26.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1982, in Fall River, Mass., the daughter of Kenneth and Stella (Souza) Ouellette of Oppenheim.
Jessica was a member of the Class of 2000 at Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and had been accepted as a member of the Class of 2002 at Fulton Montgomery Community College.
She was of the catholic faith.
Jessica was a member of the Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School Marching Hawks Band Color Guard for five years and participated as a basketball cheerleader. While still residing in Fall River, she was a Pop Warner cheerleader. She was also a member of the Mohawk Valley Organ Transplant Support Group.
On April 7, 1999, she received a double lung living donor transplant given by her mother and her uncle, Mark Souza.
Jessica was an enthusiastic dancer and computer user with many on-line friends, along with having many friends she gained at Massachusetts General with the hospital staff and patients.
She is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Stella; her maternal grandparents, George B. and Pauline Souza, Oppenheim; her great-grandmother, Alice Ponte, Fall River, Mass; her brother, Timothy J. Ouellette, Dolgeville; her sister, Jennifer M. Ouellette and her companion, Jeffrey Frasier, St. Johnsville; three uncles, Frank Souza and his wife, Rose of Frankfort, George A. Souza and his wife, Karen, Oppenheim, and Mark Souza and his wife, Terry, Lassellsville; and aunt, Janet Santos, Tiverton, R.I.; her beloved nephew, Aron E. Frasier, St. Johnsville; her God parents, Toby and Louise Cardoza, Westport, Mass., several great aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear and close friends. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Rene and Claire Ouellette.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8 at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Parish Church, corner Main and John streets, Little Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Vail. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Dolgeville.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann St., Little Falls on Wednesday, June 7 from 5-8 p.m. and to attend the funeral services Thursday morning.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Jessica be considered to the Jessica M. Ouellette Scholarship Fund, 395 Belden Corners Road, Dolgeville, 13329. Envelopes are also available at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc. for this purpose.
