LARIMER Barbara Ann Larimer, age 56, of Pataskala, Oh., passed away Saturday, March 3, 2001 at her home. In loving memory of Barbara Ann Larimer who will always be celebrated and missed by all who ever knew her or had their lives touched by her. So many lives are much sweeter for having known and loved her. Barbara was survived by her husband, Tom Larimer; daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Bill McLeid; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jon McHenry; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Lisa Frank; daughter and son-in-law, Kerry and Dave Harman; daughter and son-in-law, Kirsten and Dave Dubosque; mother and step-father, Bonnie and Hobart Murphy; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Paul Vlack; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Steve Wiles; sister and brother-in-law, Peg and Reverend James Webb; brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Joanne Carpenter; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Florence Carpenter; and 8 lovely grandchildren. Barbara was a member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church, 4888 Refugee Rd., Baltimore, Oh. The memorial service is to be held at the church on Saturday, March 10, 2001 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 145 North High St., Suite 800, Columbus, Oh. 43215. Arrangements are being handled by the BORING-SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME, 108 North 7th St., Hebron, Oh.

LEMA David E. Lema, age 72, of Reynoldsburg, on Monday March 5, 2001, at his residence. Born and raised in Stockton, CA. During the Korean War, he graduated from Officer Candidate School and served as a Second Lieutenant in the infantry. After his service, he earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees at San Jose State University and a Doctorate degree from Syracuse University. He began his college teaching career at the University of the Pacific, then was a member of the faculty of the college of Education at The Ohio State University. He later joined the faculty at California State University, Stanislaus. He returned to Ohio and served as Director of Education Services for the Madison County Superintendent's Office until suffering a cerebral hemorrhage in 1992. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a caring teacher. Preceded in death by parents Frances Hauschel and Manuel Lema, sister Frances Baker. Survived by wife of 49 years, Nancy Lema; daughters, Katherine (Richard) Kobrin, Jacqueline (William) Speaks, Dyan (Al) Couden; son, Gregory (Barbara) Lema; grandchildren, Robin Kobrin, Marc Kobrin, Dustin Speaks, Brandon Couden, Alexander Couden. Also survived by Rahel Goldberg and Randy Speaks, nieces, a nephew and numerous cousins. Funeral Service 11:30 a.m. Wednesday March 7, 2001 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 East Johnstown Road, (on Rt. 62, * mile east of Hamilton Rd.), Gahanna, where family will be receiving visitors from 11 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Eric Williams officiating. Interment Headley Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice, 793 W. State Street, Columbus, OH 43222.

LOOMIS Florence A. Loomis, 75, of Conneaut, OH, died March 5, 2001 in Conneaut. Beloved wife of Albert M. Loomis; mother of Penny Mitchell of Conneaut, Denise Bowman of Columbus, Rev. David Blood of Carrollton, OH, Allen L. Blood of Birmingham, AL; grandmother of 10; great-grandmother of 7; sister of Agnes Loomis, Carol Tuebor, Judy Hartman, George, Edward and James Bennett. Preceded by first husband Donald E. Blood, daughter Dawn A. Blood, sister Betty French and brother Jerry Bennett. Funeral service Thursday in Conneaut. MERCER Richard H. Mercer, age 75, of Upper Arlington, died suddenly Friday, March 2, 2001 at his home. He retired from Stilson & Associates Civil Engineering after many years of service. He was a graduate of the University of West Virginia and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WW II. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Helen Mercer, in 1987. Richard is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Alice M. and Joe Walters of Missouri City, TX; sons, Rodrick H. Mercer of Laguna Niguel, CA, Alan H. Mercer of Milford, CT, and Kent W. Mercer of Bremerton, WA. A private family service was held on March 6, 2001. If desired, contributions may be made to Citizens for Humane Action, P.O. Box 1078, Westerville, OH 43086 in his memory. MILLER Richard Miller, 87, former resident of Columbus, died March 4 in Marietta. Employed by Continental Bakery for 40 years. Member of Humboldt Lodge F.&A.M. Survived by his wife, Mary Yarzab Miller; 3 sons, Richard of Columbus, Charles of Kirkersville and John of Lexington, Ky.; 3 step-daughters; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 1 sister, Evelyn Case. Preceded in death by his first wife Helen Overman Miller. Service 10 a.m. Thursday, Soul's Harbor Church, Marietta with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Columbus at 2:30 p.m. Visitation McCLURE-SCHAFER FUNERAL HOME, 314 Fourth Street, Marietta beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice.

MOORE Ernest G. "Ernie" Moore, Jr., of Westerville, Oh., born July 4, 1924, died peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital in the presence of family. Graduate of Columbus North High School. WW II Veteran, Third Army, Fifth "Red Diamond" Division. He landed on the Normandy beaches and participated in General Patton's advance to the Rhine, 1944-45 and was decorated with the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Ernie was a hero to his family, friends and country. Past Grand Master, University Lodge #631 F&AM. He is preceded in death by parents Ernest and May and sister Idabelle. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois; daughter, Marsha Moore; son, Ed (Karen) Moore; grandchildren, Kyle, David and Tracy; brother, Don (Helen) Moore; brother-in-law, Dick Burgess; sister-in-law, Doris (Paul) Buchanan; and many beloved nieces, nephews and their children and his beloved dog, Dusty. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, 614-885-4006, where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2001. MOORE Norman W. Moore, age 87, Monday, Riverside Methodist Hospital. Member Evangel Temple Assembly of God. Survived by wife of 29 years, Vada; daughter, Linda (Richard) Duckworth; step-son, Gene (Gladys) McCauley; step-daughter, Della (Edward) Chapman; 2 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren. MORLAN Louise A. Morlan, age 83, died March 5, 2001 at Columbus Alzheimer's Center. Preceded in death by husband Forest Morlan, daughters Mary Lou McCain, Judy Jacobs. Survived by sons, Forest Leroy (Brenda) Morlan, Tom (Wanda) Morlan, Bobby (Marilyn) Morlan, Terry (Kathy) Morlan; daughters, Marlene (Danny) Smith, Nicky (Bill) McConaha; 30 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends. MORRIS Earl D. Morris, age 86, of Worthington, March 4, 2001 at Laurel of Norworth. U.S. Navy Veteran WW II. Avid bowler for many years. Played for New Holland High School baseball team during their two year State Championship victories. Preceded in death by wife Claire Morris, son Ronald Morris, grandchildren Philip Morris Jr., Terry Glenn Marcum and Tammy Louise Morris. Survived by sons, Charles "Buddy" (Carol) of Marengo, Oh., Jack (Twila), Philip (Sue) and Ernest (Bonnie), all of Columbus; daughters, Betty (Connard "Bo") Marcum, Jill (Fred) Workman, all of Columbus, Sue (Thomas) Stimmel of Whitehall and Margie (Kevin) Moore of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Morris of Mt. Sterling; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Ike) Hosler; long-time companion, Barbara Rice; many nieces and nephews. MOWERY Willis T. Mowery, age 70, of Groveport, Ohio passed away Monday, March 5, 2001 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Will was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 25 years of service. He was born in Holden, W.Va. to James and Clara Mowery, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Gladys (Hall) Mowery, whom he married on Christmas Day, 1951; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark M. and Lorri Mowery; and grandchildren, Alyson, Arika and Aron Mowery; numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Friday, March 9 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, with a Memorial Service beginning at 8 p.m. Pastor Jack Marcum will officiate.

NICHOLS Mary Price Nichols, age 98, of Grove City, March 5, 2001 at Mt. Carmel West Medical Center. Born July 23, 1902 in Petros, Tenn. to Ramsey Bunch and Viney Patterson Bunch. Preceded in death by husbands Harry O. Price and Joseph Nichols and children Dorothy, Lee, Garrett and Harvey, 5 brothers and 1 half-sister. Survived by children, Mae Smallwood of Lafollette, Tenn., Marie Bunch of Petros, Tenn., Jean (Frank) Padilla of Grove City, Wanda (Clifford) King of Cincinnati, Howard (Karen) Price of Lafollette, Tenn., Thelma (Joe) Crouch of Monticello, Ky. and Jerry Dale (Sandy) Montgomery of Lafollette, Tenn.; 30 grandchildren; more than 40 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; special caregiver, Pam Keach; sisters, Anna Mae Carroll and Elsie Lyles; 4 half-brothers, Robert, Castle, Vicky and Sidney Bunch; many nieces and nephews. PINKERTON Mary Louise (Atwood) Pinkerton, age 81, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2001. Beloved wife of the late Cecil Albert Pinkerton. Mary was retired from UFCW Local #1059. Survived by brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Joy Atwood; sons, Darrell Pinkerton and William Pinkerton; daughter-in-law, Wanda Pinkerton; grandchildren, Debra Barnette, Kathryn Hendricks, Sherry Pinkerton, Christy Pinkerton; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Hendricks, Justin Hendericks, Calin Pinkerton, Natalie Barnette and Brittany Pinkerton; nephews, Jeff Atwood, Ron and Patty Grossman; and many other relatives. PURCELL Joe Purcell Sr., 77, of Grove City, died Monday, March 5, 2001 in Columbus Community Hospital. Retired from Federal Glass Co. and was a WW II Veteran, Cannon Company 274th Infantry. Preceded in death by parents George and Wilda Purcell, son Joseph Purcell Jr., granddaughter Keisha Purcell, sisters, Dorothy and Mildred Purcell. Survived by loving wife, Bessie; children, David (Mary) Purcell, Rick (Carol) Purcell and Diana (Joe) Beiring; brother, Raymond Purcell; grandchildren, Chris Purcell, Katie (Billy) Coon, Kim (Brian) Wirick, Lisa Beiring, Joseph Purcell and Tonya Purcell; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Megan, Ryan, Chandra, Tiffany, Crickett and Storm; special niece, Penny; special great-nieces, Kay Lee and Mariah; daughter-in-law, Mattie Purcell; 3 step-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-grandchildren. REYNOLDS Mother Dewilder Perkins Reynolds, age 80, was called home to be with the Lord Friday, March 2, 2001 at OSU Hospital. Member of Greater Ebenezer Apostolic Church, where she was mother of the church, served in the choir, Welcome Committee, and the Missionary Society. Retired surgical technician from University and Doctors Hospital. Predeceased by parents Willie and Julia Ann Hardiman Perkins, husband Rev. Clarence Lee Reynolds, sons Robert Paul and Jerry Reynolds, daughter Pauline Reynolds, grandsons, Kayon Braxton, Darnell Foreman, brother Willie Perkins. Survived by sons, Alfred (Joan), Dr. William (Famillee), George (Beverly), Jimmy, Erskin (Jacqueline), Clyde (Tina), Eugene (Ruby), Lester, Fred and Mario (grandson/son) Reynolds; daughters, Mary (Otis) Truitt, Julia Mitchell, Gloria Jean Reynolds, Alice (Tyrone) Kendrick; sisters-in-law, Mary L. RHODES Governor James A. Rhodes, Sunday, March 4, 2001 at Ohio State University Hospital, age 91. Elected to Columbus Board of Education in 1937; Elected to Columbus City Auditor in 1939; Elected as Columbus Mayor in 1943; Elected State Auditor in 1952; Elected State Governor in 1962, 1966, 1974 and 1978. Preceded in death by wife Helen Rawlins Rhodes and daughter Saundra Jacob. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Sue (Richard H.) Moore of Dublin and Sharon (William) Markham of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 6 from 4-7 p.m. at the Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 3500 Mill Run Dr. Governor Rhodes will lie "in state" at the Ohio Capital Rotunda from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7.
