RONALD R. PHILLIPS
RONALD R. PHILLIPS, 66, of Cemetery Road, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Monday, December 17, 2007 at his residence.
Ron was born in Martins Ferry on April 2, 1941, the son of the late Hugh M. and Anna V. (Hails) Phillips.
He was a member of Roofers Union Local 188 and retired from Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal, Inc. of Wheeling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Hugh, Allan, Dan and John; two sisters, Betty Rutan and Wilma Doughty.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie L. (Borck) Phillips; son, Ronald R. (Melissa) Phillips, Medina, Ohio; daughter, Kimberly G. (Joel) Looney, Columbus, Ohio; sister, Madeline G. Doughty, Martins Ferry; granddaughter, Abigail K. Phillips.
Friends are invited to a graveside service at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2007 with Pastor Philip K. Van Dam officiating.
MONA L. KRUPNIK
MONA L. KRUPNIK, 77, of Hutchinson Drive, St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at her residence.
She was born in Shadyside, Ohio on April 25, 1930, daughter of the late Earl W. and Hazel L. (Johnson) Hall.
She was a member of South Bellaire Methodist Church.
Mona is survived by her husband, Walter Krupnik; four sons, John (Patsy) of Florida; Thomas (Vicki), Bellaire; Doug (Marla) Bellaire; Rick (Melody), Virginia; daughter, Terri (Rich) Materkoski, Bellaire; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
EDWARD L. DALTON
EDWARD L. DALTON, 53, of Ohio Ave., Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W. Va.
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on August 23, 1954, he was the son of the late Cledis Dalton and Esther L. (Clyde) Kessler who survives him of Martins Ferry, Ohio.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by son, Emmett K. Dalton; brother, C. Joseph (Fran) Dalton; friend, Rhonda Hendershot, all of Martins Ferry.
At the family's request there will be no visitation and services are private at the convenience of family.
ROSE MARIE HARPER
ROSE MARIE HARPER, 91, formerly of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Sienna Pointe, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
She was born in Martins Ferry on March 31, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Joseph V. and Marie (Brubaugh) Reasbeck.
She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Martins Ferry; and a retired inspector for the U.S. Government.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles A. and Joseph V. Reasbeck
She is survived by two sister in laws, Margaret A. Reasbeck, Martins Ferry and Emma Reasbeck, Orange Park, Florida; niece, Barbara A. (William) Edge, Martins Ferry; nephew, Joseph V. (Nancy) Reasbeck, III, Superior, Wis; one great niece and great nephews.
Friends will be received at the funeral home, Monday from 10 until 10:30 a.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, Ohio. at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2007, with Rev. Thomas A. Magary as the celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
MARY KOBUS
MARY KOBUS, 92, of N. 10th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling, W. Va.
She was born in Chicago, Ill. on May 15, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Kohut) Loha.
Mary was former owner of Kobus Grocery, formerly of Yorkville, Ohio and former president of the Warren Twp. Federated Democratic Women's Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Kobus; two brothers, Attorney Joseph Loha and Sylvester Loha; sister, Anna Loha.
She is survived by daughter, Julia H. Courey, Martins Ferry; two grandsons, Louis (Susan) Courey, Houston, Tx.; Mark (Renee) Courey, Solon, Ohio; granddaughter, Debra (Steve) Rogers, Bradenton, Fl.., and six great grandchildren
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Damien Kobus as the celebrant.
Interment followed in Upland Cemetery, Yorkville, Ohio.
DOROTHY L. ELLIS
DOROTHY L. ELLIS, 86, formerly of Nixon Run, Martins Ferry, Ohio died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Sienna Pointe, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on November 28, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Frances A. (Striff) Lewis.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Martins Ferry and a member of the Bridgeport Chapter #452 Order of the Eastern Star; and also was the Head Majorette of the band when she attended Martins Ferry High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Ellis; brother, John Thomas Lewis; sister, Ruth Lewis.
She is survived by a sister, Eleanor Yoder of Bridgeport, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the convenience of the family.
Mausoleum entombment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

SHIRLEY F. SNODGRASS
SHIRLEY F. SNODGRASS, 80, formerly of Spence Lane, Martins Ferry, Ohio died at 7:55 PM, Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Heartland Of Lansing, Lansing, Ohio.
She was born in Shadyside, Ohio on April 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Paul and Lillian (Hanson) Weekley.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kay Sedor; sister, Kathryn Dorff; two brothers, Ronald and Wayne Weekley.
She is survived by a daughter, Diana (Peter) Sinclair, Columbus, Ohio; son, Richard D. Snodgrass, Thomaston, Maine; sister, Margaret (Harry) Palmer, Martins Ferry; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Tuesday March 4, 2008 at 2 p.m., with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
CHARLES L. BURNS
CHARLES L. BURNS, 84, formerly of Vine Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio died Monday, March 3, 2008 at Lancia Villa Royale Nursing Home, Steubenville, Ohio.
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on July 25, 1923, the son of the late Thomas Joseph and Mary (Wise) Burns.
He was retired from the former Bloch Brothers Tobacco Company of Wheeling, W. Va.
He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; a member of the Knights of Columbus #1421 of Martins Ferry and a Life Member of the DAV # 117 of Bellaire, Ohio.
He served in the U.S. Navy in WW II and the Korean Conflict as a Naval Aviator.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Snezek Burns and a sister, Margaret Mary Finney Dorsey
He is survived by two sons, Thomas J. (Pat) Burns, Martins Ferry and Robert C. (Renee) Burns, Carrollton, Ohio; daughter, Kathleen (Kevin) McCormick, Newark, De. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated Friday, March 7, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Thomas A. Magary as the celebrant.
Interment followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
Rosary was held at the funeral home Thursday at 3 followed by Wake services at 7:45 p.m.
military honors were given Friday at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. by the Bel. Co. Council of the V.F.W.
