Pauline L. Downing
(1916 - 2004)

PIONEER - Pauline L. Downing, 87, Pioneer, died Friday, December 3, 2004, at Hillside Country Living in Bryan.
Born December 20, 1916, she was the daughter of Della B. (Grisier) and William J. Clark. She was the widow of Wayne O. Downing who preceded her in death September 28, 2000. A 1934 graduate of Pioneer High School, she was a dedicated farmer's wife and homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Lorraine) Wise of Hillsdale, Mich.; five sons, Richard, (and wife Carolyn); Jack (Charlotte); Dennis D.; Ted (Rae), all of Pioneer; Robert W., Gainesville, Fla.; and one sister, Mrs. Eugene (Beulah) Lehman, Hillsdale, Mich.; 12 grandchildren 11 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Russell Clark and one sister, Helen Stewart.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, December 6 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Nelson Rupp presiding.
Interment will be at the Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.
Memorials may be made to Hillside County Living.

Freeda A. Russelle
(1942 - 2004)

Freeda A. Russell, 62, of Bryan and a former lifelong resident of Ney, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at Community Health and Wellness Centers-Bryan, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born Sept. 22, 1942, at Clentwood, Va., to Mary (Baker) and Taze Rachel, she married Roy E. Russell on July 11, 1964, at Mansfield, and he survives.
A lifelong homemaker, she was a member of the True Word Tabernacle in Bluffton.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Tammy L. Rios and Mary I. Horner, both of Bryan; four sons, Ralph R. (and wife, Tammy) Boterf of Wiley, Ga., Eddie R. (Brenda) Boterf of Sherwood, John R. (Carolyn) Russell of Montpelier, and Gary E. (Trisha) Russell of Montpelier; her mother, Mary Rachel of Sherwood; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Shirley Sproles of Sherwood and Mrs. Carl (Ruth) Lyons of Mansfield; a brother, Roy (Patsy) Rachel of Smithville, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her father; a daughter, Debbie Sue Russell; and a brother, Alfred Rachel.
Visitation will be held today from 5-9 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Ray Erickson to officiate. Interment will follow in Ney Cemetery, Ney.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Judith K. "Judy" Mull
(1945 - 2004)

ARCHBOLD - Judith K. "Judy" Mull, 59, of Archbold, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Toledo Hospital in Toledo.
Born Feb. 6, 1945, at Wauseon, she was the daughter of Elsie (Winzeler) and Herbert Mull. Prior to her retirement in 2000, she had worked at Sauder Woodworking in Archbold for over 25 years.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and had participated in church activities at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, the Archbold United Methodist Church and St. Peter Catholic Church in Archbold.
Surviving is a sister, Sharon Buehrer of Alvordton.
She was preceded in death by both parents and a nephew, Mike Buehrer.
Visitation will be held today from 2-8 p.m. in the Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in St. John's United Church of Christ in Archbold with the Rev. David Voll to officiate. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. JohnÕs United Church of Christ.

Joel W. Adams
(1952 - 2004)

DELAFIELD, Wis. -Joel W. Adams, 51, of Delafield and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at his home.
Born Dec. 6, 1952, at Bryan, Ohio, to Jane (Harris) and Robert W. Adams, he married Patricia Simon on Oct. 27, 1979, at Pittsburgh, Pa., and she survives.
A 1971 graduate of Bryan High School, he was the director of security at Ethan Allen School for Boys in Wales, Wis. for over 25 years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Abigail of Oconomowoc; a son, Robert of Delafield; his father, Robert W. Adams of Bryan, Ohio; brothers, James (and wife, Barbara) Adams of Concord, N.C. and John (Patti) Adams of Montville, N.J.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 Summit Ave., Oconomowoc, WI 53066, phone 262-567-4457. The Rev. Tommy Thomas will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Dorothy I. Youse
(1907 - 2004)

Dorothy I. Youse, 96, formerly of Bryan, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 1, 2004, at Lakeland Nursing Center, Angola, Ind.
Born Aug. 15, 1907, at Defiance, to Mary (Kuhn) and Curtis Deepe, she married Oscar Jacob Youse in 1929 and he preceded her in death in 1980.
A homemaker, she was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan. She was a past president of United Methodist Women (formerly the Women's Society of Christian Services); a member of the Eastern Star, serving as a Worthy Matron; a member of the Bayview Study Club and the Farm Bureau.
She had received her teacher's certificate from Defiance College and was a teacher at Farmer School. Surviving are a son, James (and wife, Nancy) Youse of Westerville; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Nancy) Farquhar of Cape Coral, Fla.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Donald (Lucile) Hoak of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bryan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the church chapel with Pastor Norman Fuller of the Fairview Missionary Church, Angola, Ind., to officiate. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Bryan.

Bernice L. Healy
(1921 - 2004)

DEFIANCE - Bernice L. Healy, 83, of Defiance, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at the Toledo Hospital, Toledo.
Born Sept. 11, 1921, at Chillicothe, to Marie (Chaney) and Carl Patton, she married Richard W. Healy Sr. in 1944, and he preceded her in death in 1994.
A homemaker she was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are three sons, Richard Healy Jr. and William Healy, both of Defiance, and Carl Healy of West Unity; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Roberta) Barton of Defiance, Mrs. Richard (Carolyn) Smith of Sherwood and Mrs. Allen (Patricia) Joseph of West Unity; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one stepgrandchild; two stepgreat-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth Patton of Leipsic, Willard Patton of Clyde and Robert Patton of Lincoln, Neb.; and two sisters, Esther Henry and Viola Clark, both of North Baltimore.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Manford and Stanford Patton.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in the Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Gene Yenser to officiate. Entombment will be in Riverview Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Defiance County.
