MICHAEL W. STANFIELD
Michael William Stanfield, 55, of Blanchester, Ohio went home to be with the Lord 6:22 PM, Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Cincinnati VA Medical Center. Mr. Stanfield was born December 16, 1952 in Wilmington, Ohio, son of Clarence W. Stanfield of Kettering, Ohio and Betty Roush of Hillsboro, Ohio. He was a graduate of East Clinton High School. Mr. Stanfield was a soldier at heart, and proudly served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant and medic. During his service he was stationed in Korea. After leaving the Army, Mr. Stanfield was an owner/operator truck driver for 31 years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stanfield is survived by his fiance Berniece Howard of Blanchester, Ohio; his stepmother, Clara Stanfield of Kettering, Ohio; three sons, Chris (Erica) Stanfield of Columbus, Ohio, Daniel (Jenni) Stanfield of New Vienna, Ohio, and Billy (Sami) Stanfield of Leesburg, Ohio; a daughter, Jessica Stanfield of Greenfield, Ohio; a stepson, Brad Stidham of Blanchester, Ohio; a sister, Peggy Garcia of Hillsboro, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kristina Stanfield, Jonathon Stanfield, Jaden Stanfield, Jakob Stanfield, and Zarek Stanfield; a niece, Michelle Geisler; and his dog, Fancy.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home, 64 S. South Street, New Vienna, Ohio with Pastor Joe Pinkerton Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Edwardsville cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home.

DELITHA "DEE" BUCKLEY
Delitha "Dee" Rittenhouse Buckley, 87, of Wilmington, Ohio went home to be with her Lord 6:25 PM, Monday, May 5, 2008 at Autumn Years Nursing Center. Her husband, Sherwin W. Buckley, preceded her in death July 27, 1999. They were married March 3, 1943. Dee and Sherwin, lived on the Buckley home farm for 45 years, 1943 - 1988, until selling the farm and moving to Wilmington. Mrs. Buckley was born December 26, 1920 in Wilson Township, Clinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late Pearl and Goldie Lynch Rittenhouse. She was a 1938 graduate of Sabina High School.
Early in her career, Mrs. Buckley worked 5 years for Dr. Wead in Sabina. Eventually, she worked at the Clinton County Auditors office from 1960 - 1982. She also helped in the Clinton County Fair secretary's office for 27 years and volunteered at Clinton Memorial Hospital for several years. She was a member of the Sharon United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Buckley is survived by her twin children, a son, Mark R. (Pauline) Buckley of Wilmington, Ohio and a daughter, Marklyn B. (Kent) Bone of Jamestown, Ohio; four brothers, William L. Rittenhouse of Washington Court House, Ohio, Arnold P. (Loretta) Rittenhouse of Texas, Jack (Shirley) Rittenhouse of Sabina, Ohio, and Larry D. (Joan) Rittenhouse of Hebron, Ohio; two sisters, Evelyn Albertine (Eugene) Cramer of Sabina, Ohio and Connie Sue (Bob) Phillips of Wellsville, Ohio; five grandsons, Samuel A. Dean, T. Aaron Dean, William E. "Bill" Dean, Travis F. Buckley, and Logan K. Buckley; two tep granddaughters, Rhonda Beam and Monette Randall; and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, a brother, Wayne Rittenhouse, and two sisters, Phyllis L. Reese and Charlotte L. Rittenhouse, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Bob Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Community Care Hospice, P.O. SHELBY J. BURNS
Shelby J. Burns, 71, of Wilmington, Ohio died 4.25 AM, Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Her husband, Everett E. Burns, preceded her in death. Mrs. Burns was born March 3, 1937 in Wilmington, Ohio, daughter of the late Fred and Lucille Lewis Garrette. She attended Wilmington City Schools.
Mrs. Burns was a production worker at the American Tool Company in Wilmington until her retirement. She was baptized at the Bible Missionary Baptist Church in Wilmington.
Mrs. Burns is survived by a son Everett "Tink" (Gloria) Burns of Wilmington, Ohio; two daughters, Gina Burns (Tony) Greene of Wilmington, Ohio and Jeanetta "Teeny" Pridemore of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Freddie (Virginia) Garrette of Springfield, Ohio; two sisters, Ruth Ann (James) Luckett of Sacramento, California and Zella Turner of Wilmington, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jarrod, Candy, Jeffrey and Issac; five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, a son, Jeff Burns, and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Freda and Richard Allen and Rose Maxine Garrette, are preceded in death.
Graveside services will be at Sugar Grove cemetery in Wilmington, Ohio at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM, Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.

LUTHER WELCH JR.
Luther Welch Jr., 71, of Wilmington, Ohio died at his residence. Mr. Welch was born January 18, 1937, in Coldspring, Kentucky, son of the late Luther Sr. and Mary Purkey Welch. He was a 1956 graduate of Harveysburg High School and he served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Welch was a retired farmer and a local businessman. He attended the Wilmington Assembly of God.
Mr. Welch is survived by two sons, Jeff (Lisa) Welch of Wilmington, Ohio and Jon (Amanda) Welch of Wilmington, Ohio; a daughter, Jerri (Rick) Hall of Leesburg, Ohio; a sister, Shirley Sara of Waynesville, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Ty and Ashlee Welch and Dakota and Colt Spencer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Welch and Donald Welch.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the Wilmington Assembly of God, 609 W. Locust Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Pastor Richard Bracht officiating. Burial will be in Miami cemetery, Corwin, Ohio. Friends may call from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.

ELLEN L. "BETTY" ELTZROTH
Ellen L. "Betty" Eltzroth, 83, of New Vienna, Ohio died 10:35 PM, Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Highland District Hospital, Hillsboro, Ohio. Her husband, Paul E. Eltzroth, preceded her in death August 30, 2003. They were married April 8, 1945. Mrs. Eltzroth was born July 10, 1924 in Clinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late George and Emma Brewer Blair. She was a graduate of Port William High School. Mrs. Eltzroth was a homemaker and a member of the New Vienna Sr. Mothers' Club and the Snow Hill Ladies Golf Association. She had also served as a 4-H advisor.
Mrs. Eltzroth is survived by a daughter, Linda (Wendell) Compton of New Vienna, Ohio; two sons, Larry Eltzroth of New Vienna, Ohio and Lee (Rhonda) Eltzroth of New Vienna, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kathryn (Jeff) Peters of League City, Texas, Nathan (Summer) Compton of Dallas, Texas, Dylan Eltzroth of New Vienna, Ohio, and Derek Eltzroth of New Vienna, Ohio; and three great grandchildren, Grant Peters, Aaron Peters, and Logan Compton. In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers and two sisters, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Dan Bill officiating. RUSSELL MIARS SR.
Russell Dee Miars Sr., 65, of Wilmington, Ohio died 8:25 PM, Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. His wife, Patricia Ann Botts Miars, whom he married May 6, 1961, survives. Mr. Miars was born September 15, 1942, in Wilmington, Ohio, son of the late Vivian M. Barney Miars McDaniel and Wilbur L. Miars. He was a 1960 graduate of Kingman High School in Chester Township.
Mr. Miars was a farmer throughout his lifetime. He also worked for Buckley Brothers Feed Mill in New Antioch for eight years and the Ohio State Highway Patrol for 21 years, retiring as a load limit inspector in 1999.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Miars is survived by a son, Russell (Michelle) Miars Jr. of Blanchester, Ohio; two daughters, Pamela (Randy) Black of Wilmington, Ohio and DeeAnn (Ron) Ball of Wilmington, Ohio; a sister, Rachel (John) Robb of Blanchester, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brad Smart, David Black, Heather Black, Brittney (Justin) Smithson and Tyler Miars; a step-grandson, Reece Ball; two great-grandchildren, Gracie Smithson and Owen Smithson; two nieces; a nephew; three great-nephews; special friends, Larry and Shirley Quigley and Jim Wilson; and his mother-in-law, Mary Botts of Wilmington, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Earnest McDaniel.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Dr. David Cottrill officiating. SHIRLEY L. HARRIS
Shirley Leona Harris, 87, beloved mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord 11:40 PM, Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Autumn Years Nursing Center. Her husband, Boyd Harris, preceded her in death in 1964. They were married April 8, 1944 in Maysville, Kentucky. Mrs. Harris was born September 5, 1920 in Spencer, Iowa, the youngest daughter of the late Charles Luther and Mary Alice Waits Daugherty. She resided most of her life in the Wilmington and Clarksville area.
In the 1950's Shirley and Boyd owned and operated Tiny's Restaurant in Clarksville, Ohio. Later, Mrs. Harris worked 17 years for the General Telephone Company, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Wilmington Church of the Nazarene. She loved walking, reading, and her flower garden.
Mrs. Harris is survived by two sons, Larry (Bettie) Harris of Hillsboro, Ohio and Billy Harris of Blanchester, Ohio; a daughter, Ann (Sherlock) Lewis of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren, Bruce (Anna) Noffsinger, Alisa Darian, Amanda Harris, Jordan Harris, and Dustin Harris; and four great grandchildren, Ross, Harris, Samuel, and Jake. In addition to her husband and parents, a son, George Harris, a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Harris, and five sisters, Lillie Taylor, Esther Edwards, Frances Nissen, Helen Dunn, and Elsie Deatley are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Gerald Vaught officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 PM, Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home. LOIS HENSON
Lois Brown Henson of Wilmington, Ohio died Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Cape May. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Edward V. Henson, who died Nov. 1, 1983. Mrs. Henson was born January 16, 1917, in El Paso, Texas, daughter of the late Dr. Henry M. and Reba H. Brown. She received bachelors of science degrees from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and Morris Harvey College in Charleston, West Virginia and a master's of arts degree from Columbia University in New York, New York.
Mrs. Henson was a special education teacher for 15 years before she began raising a family. She also had owned and operated an antique shop. She was an expert in and collector of fine Early American antiques. She was active in the Decorative Arts Trust, Clinton County Retired Teachers Association, Wilmington Republican Women's Club, Conversation Club, Mothers' Club, Investment Club, American Association of University Women, and the Cincinnati Decorative Arts Club. She was a supporter of the arts, both locally and nationally. She traveled in the United States and the world extensively.
Mrs. Henson is survived by two sons, Robert J. (Melinda) Henson of New Vienna, Ohio and Paul E. (Patricia) Henson of Rocky River, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Ian, Devin, and Aidan.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in the New Vienna I.O.O.F. cemetery. DUSTIN ALAN STEINBARGER
Dustin Alan Steinbarger, 22, of 1032 Country Oaks Lane, Wilmington, Ohio died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Steinbarger was born June 12, 1986 in Kettering, Ohio, the son of Steve and Rebecca Steinbarger of Wilmington, Ohio. He was a 2005 graduate of Clinton Massie High School and a 2007 graduate of M.M.I. in Orlando, Florida.
Mr. Steinbarger was the owner of Stein's Custom Components in Xenia, Ohio. He enjoyed motorcycles, dirt bikes, atvs, snow boarding, and partying with his friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Steinbarger is survived by a brother, Jordan Steinbarger of Wilmington, Ohio; his grandparents, Cliff and Pat Steinbarger of Wilmington, Ohio, Sandra Whitesell of Tennessee, and Robert and Alicia Whitesell of Florida; his great grandmother, Josephine Young of Xenia, Ohio; aunts and uncles, Mark and Jamie Steinbarger of Wilmington, Ohio and Randal Whitesell of Tennessee; a great aunt and great uncle, Robert and Lillian Britton of Huber Heights, Ohio; and his extended family, Lauren Holmer, Kyle Baessler, Cody Bolin, Travis Burton, K.C. Davis, Chase Duncan, Justin Gross, Adam Hamlet, Ben Hamlin, Brett Kimball, Brandon LeForge, Kyle "Miller" Miller, Mark Roe, Matt Roe, Cody Romohr, Josh Smith, and Dusty Speelman.

ROBERT J. "BUD" SPICER
Robert J. "Bud" Spicer, 84, of Wilmington, Ohio died 3:15 PM, Thursday, August 7, 2008 at his residence. His wife of 50 years, Esther Rose McCandless Spicer, preceded him in death February 16, 1994. Mr. Spicer was born June 25, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Joseph Robb Spicer and Georgia A. Nichols Spicer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving aboard the USS Pastores and the USS Arneb during World War II.
Mr. Spicer was employed by Brown Brockmeyer/National Gear and the Manhattan Lounge until his retirement in 1976. He was a life member of the VFW and a 4-time commander of Post 6710. He was also a life member of the Military Order of Cootie (honor degree), a 25-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1224, and a 43-year member of American Legion Post 49.
Mr. Spicer is survived by three daughters, Georgia (Curt) Tucker of Wilmington, Ohio, Jackie Joseph of Wilmington, Ohio, and Debbie Backenstoe of Washington Court House, Ohio; two sons, Joe (Sheila) Spicer of Wilmington, Ohio and Bill (Kathy) Spicer of Wilmington, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Audrey McCandless of Wilmington, Ohio and Ruth Spicer of Jacksonville, Florida; eight grandchildren, Missy Martin of Wilmington, Ohio, Henry "Jr" Tucker of Wilmington, Ohio, Lori (David) Leigh of Wilmington, Ohio, Mindy Spicer of Wilmington, Ohio, Larry (Laurie) Joseph II of Wilmington, Ohio, Scott Spicer of Wilmington, Ohio, Sara Spicer of Wilmington, Ohio, and Kathy (Chad) Payton of Washington Court House, Ohio; five step grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, two sons-in-law, Larry Joseph and Benny Backenstoe; four sisters, Thelma Spicer, Billie Pearce, Myrtle McClelland, and Mary Noble; brother, Clarence "Terry" Spicer and infant brother, Joe Spicer, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Sunday, August 10, 2008 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Noah Robert Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 49 Memorial Squad. DOROTHY L. VANZANT
Dorothy L. Vanzant, 86, of New Vienna, Ohio died 9:40 PM, Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Vitas Hospice, Dayton, Ohio. Her husband, Joseph L. Vanzant, preceded her in death July 31, 1992. They were married June 4, 1941. Mrs. Vanzant was born August 29, 1921 in Sugar Tree Ridge, Highland County, Ohio, daughter of the late Carey and Alma Igo Tice. She was a graduate of Mowrystown High School. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Church of Christ where she was active in the Lady's Aid. She was also a member of the New Vienna Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Vanzant is survived by three sons, Donald (Pamela) Vanzant of Huber Heights, Ohio, Larry (Jackie) Vanzant of Sturgis, Michigan, and David Lynn Vanzant of New Vienna, Ohio; two daughters, Marilyn (Mike) Cooper of Sabina, Ohio and Carolyn (Ed) Brown of New Vienna, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, three great grandchildren are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the Mt. Olive Church of Christ, 10021 Mad River Road, New Vienna, Ohio with Russell Lieb officiating. Burial will be in in Sugar Tree Ridge cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the Mt. Olive Church of Christ.
