Rev. Alfred Drapp, pastor and teacher
Rev. Alfred E. Drapp, who served as pastor at several parishes in southwestern Ohio, died of a heart attack Tuesday. He was 69.
Father Drapp studied at St. Gregory and Mount St. Mary seminaries and was ordained in 1955. Among area parishes where he served were St. Peter and St. Ann churches in Hamilton, Ohio; and St. Margaret Mary Church, North College Hill, from where he retired as pastor in 1994 due to ill health.
Father Drapp also had taught at Notre Dame High School in Cincinnati.
"He will be missed by the many people he has blessed through the years who remember his patient and kind response to their needs,"recalled Rev. Malcolm Grad, vice chancellor of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
Father Drapp leaves a sister, Virginia Boltz.

Harry Schnabel Jr., preservationist
Harry H. "Hank" Schnabel Jr. carried those who loved and worked with him by the sheer energy of his personality.
Whether he was raising funds as executive director of Historic Southwest Ohio, Inc., or enjoying in-line skating, the 65-year-old inspired others through his active and full life.
Mr. Schnabel died Wednesday in Cincinnati. The Covington resident was instrumental in reviving the Historic Southwest Ohio organization, a non-profit group that oversees the historic Sharon Woods Village and John Hauck House.
"He was a high energy person and very creative," said Sheri Swinehart, president of the board of directors of Historic Southwest Ohio. "He was a visionary. He made a lot of positive changes here, and he brought in a lot of funding."
When living in Alexandria, Va., Mr. Schnabel served as curator of the diplomatic reception rooms at Blair House for the State Department.
He was a member of the American Association of Museums and the American Association for State and Local History.
Ms. Swinehart described Mr. Schnabel, an Ohio University graduate, as generous with his time when it came to his family, church and community groups.
"He will be greatly missed," she said.
He leaves his wife, Eleanor, and daughters Liza and Eleanor Schnabel.
Funeral arrangements are pending. Ms. Swinehart said a memorial service at the Sharon Woods Village will be scheduled.

Paul Pickett, 87, pipefitter
Paul W. Pickett spent his career working in Greater Cincinnati as a pipefitter and was a member of Local Pipefitters Union No. 392, based in Over-the-Rhine.
Mr. Pickett, of Independence, Ky., died Saturday at Highlands of Ft. Thomas nursing home in Ft. Thomas. He was 87.
"He was just the sweetest person you'd ever want," said his wife Nancy. "He was good to his family. He raised three wonderful kids."
Mr. Pickett also was a member of the Independence Christian Church, Independence Fire Department and Order of the Golden Rule No. 345. His first wife, Erma Pickett, died in 1971.
Other survivors are a son, Gary Pickett of Independence; daughters, Virginia Salyers of Florence and Paul England of Villa Hills; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight at the funeral home. Me morials are suggested to Independence Christian Church, 5221 Madison Pike, Independence 41051.

Joe Kidd, owned auto dealerships
Joe R. Kidd, 69, of Morgan Township, owner and president of several auto dealerships in Greater Cincinnati, died Tuesday.
For more than 25 years, Mr. Kidd owned and operated auto dealerships in Greater Cincinnati, including Joe Kidd Dodge-Batavia, Colerain Dodge-Northgate and Kidd Chrysler-Plymouth in Lawrenceburg, Ind.
Mr. Kidd was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served during the
Korean War.
He was born in Aberdeen, Ohio, and attended schools in Ripley, Ohio.
Mr. Kidd is survived by his wife, Lois J. Pace; brothers, Ron Kidd of Bethel, Ohio, George Kidd of Norwalk, Ohio, and Vern Kidd Jr., of Goshen, Ohio; a sister, Mary Fritz, of Niles, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton-Cleves Road, Ross, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Aloysius Church, Chapel Road, Shandon, Ohio.
