Retired commercial photographer Stanley E. Favret, 77, died Tuesday of cancer.
The Anderson Township resident photographed some 4,000 weddings during his 43-year career in Cincinnati. He held accounts with WCPO Channel 9, The Cincinnati Post and the federal government before retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Automatic Musical Instrument Collectors' Association, the British Car Club and the Airmen's Club.
He leaves a son, Bruce Favret; daughters, Jane Cervantes, Julie Stinchcomb, Sue Inderhees, Mary Ann Wilson and Jeanne Daly; a sister, Thelma Williams; and 15 grandchildren.
His wife, Alberta Berger Favret, and a son, Stanley J. Favret, preceded him in death.

Fred H. Thomas, former mayor
Fred H. Thomas, who was a council member and mayor in Erlanger for more than 40 years, died Wednesday at age 86.
Mr. Thomas's leadership guided Erlanger through a period of rapid growth. He served as a councilman from 1951 to 1982, then three terms as mayor.
'He felt like he was making a difference to the community,' said a long-time friend, Erlanger council member and retired police chief Ken Yaden.
Mr. Thomas had his hands in every aspect of city business, from roads and transportation to planning and zoning to budgeting. An elected official 10 years before Interstate 75 came through Erlanger, Mr. Thomas was responsible for attracting many businesses, including Showcase Cinemas, to town.
After Mr. Thomas left office, the city hall and police headquarters were named the Fred H. Thomas Municipal Center.
Survivors are three sons: Fred, of Cincinnati, Paul, of Columbus, and Anthony of Erlanger; and seven grandchildren. His wife, Rose, preceded him in death.
Mass will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at St. Henry Church in Erlanger. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Fred and Rose Thomas Scholarship Fund, in care of Heritage Bank, 456 Common wealth Ave., Erlanger, Ky. 41018. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.

James F. Shanks, retired sewer district foreman
James F. Shanks of Anderson Township, a foreman at the Metropolitan Sewer District for 30 years before retiring in 1978, died Thursday. He was 77.
He was a member of Order of Hercules, Lodge 1; Royal Arch Masons Chapter 158; Royal and Select Masons Council 1; Scottish Rite, Valley of Cincinnati; past master of the Masonic Lodge, Cynthia-Vattier 155; American Legion Post 372. He also was an advisor for DeMolay for 25 years.
Mr. Shanks was a veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was a prisoner of war in Poland but escaped after being held three months.
He leaves his wife, Betty.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at T.P. White and Sons Funeral Home in Mt. Washington . Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
