Melessa A. Fair
MARION -- Melessa A. Fair, 22, 902 Wilson Ave., Marion, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, Nov., 5, 2003, at Marion Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1981, in Marion. She is survived by her father Steve G. and stepmother, Lynn Fair and mother Rhonda Philo; they survive in Marion.
She was a homemaker.
She is also survived by a son, Evan Eric Fair at home; paternal grandparents, Barb and Claude Cassell, Caledonia; maternal grandmother, Janet Powell, Marion; five brothers, Shane Fair, Matthew Fair, Steven Fair, Arron Hutchinson and Leven Hutchinson, all of Marion; two sisters, Kelly Hutchinson, Marion, Elizabeth Hutchinson, also Marion; five uncles, five aunts and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Earl Howard Fair.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Boyd Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Castle officiating. Burial is in Green Camp Cemetery. Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Thelma Rice Parcher Potter
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Thelma Rice Parcher Potter, 84, 7844 Napo Drive, Jacksonville, passed away at 9:44 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at her home.
Born July 27, 1919, in Marion, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Blanche (Andrew) Rice.
Twice married, she first married Virgil Parcher in 1936; he died Nov. 7, 1960. On June 11, 1967, she married Kenneth Potter; he died Jan. 24, 1978.
She retired as a laundry press operator for Norge Village where she worked for many years. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Parcher of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, Harvey Rice of Mount Gilead, Ohio, Bob Rice of Sebring, Fla., Jerry Rice of Marion, Ohio, Richard "Dick" Rice of Modoc, Ind.; a sister, Opal Schneider of Marion, Ohio; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Parcher, two daughters, Diane Parcher Shoffner, Sandra Parcher Messenger and a brother, Herb Rice.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at Boyd Funeral Home with the Rev. C.L. Fuqua officiating with Annette Johnson as vocalist. Burial is in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Calling hours were 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Coffey, Mike Waterer, Adam Waterer, and Chris Hudson, her great-grandson, Darrell Shoffner Jr., her grandson, Darrell Shoffner Sr. and Jesse Messenger and her son-in-law, Brandon Epperson.
Harry L. Conklin
MARION -- Harry L. Conklin, 90, 400 Delaware Ave., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at his residence.
Born Dec. 5, 1912, in Portsmouth, he was the son of the late Clyde and Naomi (Littner) Conklin.
He married Mary Louise (Papillon) Conklin and she preceded him in death in 1995.
He was retired from Detroit Steel as a steel worker. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Marion and also previously was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Portsmouth.
He is survived by a daughter, Deanna (Ron) Pitts, Marion; grandchildren, Blaine and Marcia Pitts of Marion, Stephen and Anne Pitts of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Amy Wilson of Worthington; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Quinton Conklin, and a sister, Mary Pack.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Temple Baptist Church in Portsmouth. Burial is in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Wheelersburg. Friends may call 5:30-8:30 p.m. tonight at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors and 1-2 p.m. Friday at Temple Baptist Church in Portsmouth.
Richard 'Pete' E. Barnhart
RUSHSYLVANIA -- Richard "Pete" E. Barnhart, 69, Rushsylvania, passed away at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at his residence.
Born Dec. 20, 1933, in Hardin County, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Juanita (Longshore) Barnhart; his mother survives in Rushsylvania.
On Sept. 1, 1955, in Liberty, Ind., he married Wanda Swam Barnhart; she survives in Rushsylvania.
He worked for Hertenstein Elevator in Rushsylvania and was owner/operator of Barnharts Garage for 48 years. He also worked at Robert Screw Products in Rushsylvania for 34 years; he retired from there in 1998. He was a lifelong member of Harper United Methodist Church, avid snowmobiler, Michigan Snowmobile Association, volunteer at the Rushsylvania Fire Department for 12 years. Pete has enjoyed all the special children in his home through the years.
He is also survived by three daughters, Deb (Dave) Booher, Zanesfield, Pam (Charlie) Alexander, Bellefontaine, Rose (Peter) Brown, Chagrin Falls; a sister, Patricia Farrington, Richwood; grandchildren, Danielle (Bert) Gonzalez of East Liberty, Ryan (Katie) Booher of Eagle River, Alaska, Scot and Jeff Brown of Chagrin Falls.; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Alicia and Maya Gonzalez; four stepgrandchildren, sixstep great-grandchildren, which includes Josh and Brittney Pedlar and special little friend, Jewel. He was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Lester "Bud" Barnhart.
A celebration of his life will be held 11:30 a.m. today at the Rushsylvania Church of Christ with the Revs. Lynn Cleveland and John James officiating. Burial is in Norma Cemetery in Hardin County. Arrangements are being handled by the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Rushsylvania.

Merle Hughes
MARION -- Graveside services for Merle H. Hughes, age 100, who died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, in the Community Healthcare Center, will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2003, in the Marion Cemetery. The Rev. Brian Green of the Prospect Street United Methodist Church will officiate and professional arrangements by Richard Hyll Services.
Ronald Lee Norris Jr.
MARION -- Ronald Lee Norris Jr., 16, 612 Sugar St., passed away at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at Marion General Hospital.
Born June 6, 1987, in Marion, he was the son of Ronald Lee Norris Sr. and Joann Hamm Norris.
He was a student at MARCA.
He is also survived by a brother, Emillio Hamm of Marion; two sisters, Michelle Hamm and Ashley Hamm, both of Marion; and grandparents Charles and Edith Hamm, also of Marion.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov 16, 2003, at Boyd Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Aills officiating. Burial is in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

William H. Rush
MARION -- William H. Rush, 77, Marion, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.
Born June 21, 1926, in Marion, he was the son of the late Phillip Fredrick and Flora Rosa (Schlicht) Rush.
On April 8, 1946, in Marion, he married Velma (Roush) Rush; she died June 26, 2001, in Marion.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he retired from HPM as a machinist after 25 years.
He is survived by two sons, Dale Rush of Marion, Larry Rush of Stone Mountain, Ga.; three daughters, Mona Hess of Marion, Pamela Mounts of Marion, and Patricia Veach of Richwood; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Diehl, Columbus. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, two great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at Boyd Funeral Home. Burial is in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
