Rev. Charles T. Dutton

MARION -- The Rev. Charles T. Dutton, 76, of Marion, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at Marion General Hospital. Arrangements are pending with the Boyd Funeral Home.

Orville 'Butch' Decker

HARPSTER -- Orville "Butch" Decker, 61, of Harpster, died at 9:46 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Wyandot Manor, Upper Sandusky.

He was born Jan. 26, 1942, in Brighton, N.Y., to the late John Decker and Winnie (Shields) Decker; who survives.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a retired truck driver for McIlvaine Trucking in Wooster and also worked for Chemical-Layman Trucking. He was a resident of Harpster for nine years and a prior resident of Barberton.

He is survived by two sons, Jason H. (Cris) Decker, of Marion, and Johnny H. Decker of Findlay; one daughter, Jodie (Robert) Decker of Findlay, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kendra and Aaron; one brother, Bill Chapman of Northfield; six sisters, Paula Hupp of Marion, Georgeanna (James) Darst of Marion, Cheryl and Joanie of Columbus, Judy of Indiana, and Karen (Dean) Hickman of Marion; and companion, C.J. Henry of Harpster.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at Boyd Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Reed officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. military rites by Marion County Veterans Council. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Boyd Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Orville Decker Family c/o Boyd Funeral Home.

Blanche M. Crawford

MOUNT GILEAD -- Blanche M. Crawford, 67, of Iberia Street, Mount Gilead, Ohio, passed peacefully away in her home surrounded by her loving family Saturday morning, Jan. 10, 2004.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. in Craven Funeral Home, Mount Gilead, with Pastor Phil Hurlberg. Friends may call one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Hospice of Morrow County or Franklin County MRDD.

Edna P. Richardson

MARION -- Edna P. Richardson, 80, of 1247 Fairwood Ave., Marion, died at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004 at her residence.

She was born Sept. 5, 1923, in Marion, to the late Arthur and Mary (Anthony) Farmer.

She was a member of St. Mary Church and active in MARCA Industries. She was formerly employed by Quaker Oats as a lab technician.

She is survived by three sons, Joe (Kerry) Richardson, Marion, John Richardson, Newark, and Anthony Leonard "Tony" Richardson, Marion; three daughters, Jackie Tindley, Marion, Mary Martin, Marion, and Esther Mumin, Columbus; one sister, Carrie (Allen) Mahone, Harvey, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one son, Howard Richardson; and one grandson, Miles Richardson.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at St. Mary Church with Father Rodney M. Damico officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, 763 Delaware Ave. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Marion, Marion, Ohio 43302 and/or St. Mary Church.

Karen Rae Roberts

PROSPECT -- Karen Rae Roberts, age 57, of Prospect, died at 12:10 a.m. Jan. 10, 2004, at Mount Carmel West Hospital after being ill several years.

She was born Sept. 15, 1946, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to the late Allen and Mary (Wilson) Downard.

In 1969, she married Richard Roberts; he survives in Prospect.

She was formerly a beautician, after that, she worked as a pottery maker for Homer Laughlin China, Newell, W.Va.

She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and the Moose. She enjoyed going to the beach, playing with her grandkids, collecting elephant figurines and being a beautician.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of Prospect, Ohio; one daughter, Mary (Dave) Poling, Prospect, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Cheryl L. Miley, Tampa, Fla., and Kim Hetzinger, Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Aaron and Jacob Poling; three stepgrandchildren, Ryan Miley, Kyle Rager and Misty Rager; two stepgreat-grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews, Lisa, Kim, Brian, Craig, Dave, John, Kathy and Kenny; and four sisters, Norma (LeRoy) Hoppel, Calcutta, Ohio, Mary (Kenny) Anderson, Calcutta, Ohio, Joyce (Bob) Swogger, Wellsville, Ohio, and Cindy (Kenny) Grimm, Wellsville, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, in the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect. Clergy is the Rev. David L. Hoffman. Burial in Prospect Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect, from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Cards are available at Funeral Home.

Kathleen Alice (Lear) Bostic

NEWARK -- Funeral services for Kathleen Alice (Lear) Bostic, 80, of Newark, will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 14, 2004, at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home in Newark. Burial in Newark Memorial Gardens with Pastor Walter Bruah officiating.

Kathleen died Jan. 10, 2004, at the Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Newark. She was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Gallipolis, Ohio, to the late Eustus and Alice (Hively) Lear.

She went to the Capital Beauty School in Columbus, and owned the Ka-Jean Beauty Salon in Newark for more than 20 years. She was a member of Eastern Star No. 305 and was assistant manager of L-K Enterprises.

She is survived by a daughter, Vergie LaFern Drake of Newark; grandchildren, Thomas W. Eppley Jr. of Fairfield, Va., and Brian E. Drake of Newark; one granddaughter, Kiha (Troy) M. Morgan of Currie, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Tony Morgan Jr. of Currie, N.C.; brother, Garland (Helena) Lear of Gallipolis; nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Francis Beck of El Dorado, Mo.

Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 13, 2004, at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 North 21st St., Newark, Ohio 43055. Eastern Star services will also be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Bostic; her parents; one sister, Delores; and on brother, Irvin.

Contributions requested to Hospice of Central Ohio, 1984 Coffman Road, Suite A, Newark, Ohio, 43055, or the Alzheimers Unit at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newark.

Mayme V. Anspaugh

MARION -- Mayme V. Anspaugh, 86, of Marion, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Marion General Hospital.

She was born on May 6, 1917, in Marion, to the late John R. and Hazel May (Houser) Johnson.

On April 29, 1937, she married James A. Anspaugh; he died Feb. 1, 1997.

She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and a 1935 graduate of Harding High School. She retired from Fulfillment (now Kable Fulfillment) Corp. after 23 years. She was a lifelong Marion resident.

She is survived by two sons, James R. (Judith) Anspaugh of Goodyear, Ariz., and John F. (Jerry) Anspaugh of Marion; one stepdaughter, Helen M. Halley of Marion; one stepdaughter-in-law, Sharon Anspaugh of Marion; two grandchildren, Jeff (Monica) Anspaugh, and Jill (Edward) Speiser; one great-grandchild, Emily Anspaugh; one great-great-grandchild, Keily Cunningham; five stepgrandchildren, Amy (Dave) Mailer, Donald L. (Toni) Anspaugh, Kathleen Davis, Michael (Pam) Halley, and David Halley; five stepgreat-grandchildren, Cameron Mailer, Jenny Cunningham, Beth Russell, Brian Russell, Melody McNeely, and Mandy McNeely; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Johnson, and Jean Johnson. She was preceded in death by one stepson, Donald E. Anspaugh; one stepson-in-law, Jack Halley; one stepgranddaughter, Lori Biggerstaff; one stepgreat-grandson, Michael Halley; three brothers, Gordon W. Johnson, Early W. Johnson, and John R. Johnson; and one sister, Florence Irene Johnson.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at Grand Prairie Cemetery, Brush Ridge, Ohio, with Pastor J. Weston  Jones of Emanuel Lutheran Church officiating. No calling hours to be observed.

Memorials can be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of Emanuel Lutheran Church or charity of choice.
