ROBERT JOSEPH MILLS, SR., 71, of Garrett Hill Road, Glencoe, OH and formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Wednesday, May 2, 2012.
Bob was born in Martins Ferry, OH on August 25, 1940, the son of the late Harry and Laura Elizabeth (Ebright) Mills.
He was a retired cast foreman for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Mingo Jct Plant. He was a honorary member of the Martins Ferry Fire Department, Liberty Station..
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Truax.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marian L. (Costa) Mills; four sons: Robert J. (Becky) Mills, Jr., Belmont, OH; Mark A. (Kim) Mills, Ashville, OH; John E. Gargala, Michigan; Jason L. Gargala, Michigan; daughter, Melissa M. Mills, St. Clairsville, OH; sister, Alice M. Nixon, Round Lake, ILL. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services are private at the convenience of family.

MARJORIE LEE SCARFPIN

MARJORIE LEE SCARFPIN, "MARGE" 73, of N. 7th Street, Martins Ferry, OH, died Monday, June 11, 2012.
Marge was born in Wheeling, WV on July 18, 1938, a daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Virginia Elizabeth (Martin) Blust.
She was a retired employee of the former Stone & Thomas Dept. Store of Wheeling. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority both of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, a brother, Thomas E. Blust, Jr., preceded her in death.
In addition to her husband, Willis L. Scarfpin, she is survived by two sons, Willis L. (Valerie) Scarfpin, Yellow Springs, OH; David A. (Kelly) Scarfpin, Estero, FL; sister, Cheryl L. (Michael) Flynn, Manassas, VA; three grandsons, Jared, Travis and Riley; granddaughter, Remini.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. with minister, Brad Johnston officiating.
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
The Sorority held services at the funeral home Thursday at 6 p.m.

JAMES F. McANINCH

JAMES F. McANINCH, 75, formerly of Broadway Street, Martins Ferry, OH, died Saturday, July 14, 2012.
Jim was born in Martins Ferry on February 10, 1937, the son of the late James O. and Dora M. (Oberfield) McAninch.
Jim graduated from Martins Ferry High School in 1955 and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and a former police officer for the city of Martins Ferry. He was an avid reader, especially of serious history, a lover of classical music, and liked writing provocative letters to the Times-Leader. He loved his nieces and nephews and their children, and hoped that on his departure they would miss him--but not too much.
He is survived by sister, Rosalie (Thomas) Ashby, Wheeling, WV. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews and seven great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Philip K. Van Dam officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 315 37th Street, Bellaire, OH 43906.

DANIEL N. HULL

DANIEL N. HULL, 84, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Monday, July 30, 2012.
Daniel was born in Martins Ferry, OH on May 14, 1928, a son of the late Wilbur W. and Margaret A. (Dichtenmiller) Hull.
He was a retired property manager at Property Illustrated, West Palm Beach, Fla. were he was employed for 30 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hull; two sons, Daniel N. Hull Jr. and Robert Hull; daughter, Barbara Mussard; five brothers, Harold, Orville, Alfred, Wilbur, and Arthur Hull; and a sister, Margaret Szeckacs.
He is survived by a daughter, Melody Gamage, Jupiter, Fla.; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Keller Funeral Home, Martins Ferry, were services will be private at the convenience of the family.

RICHARD LEE LAUGHMAN

RICHARD LEE LAUGHMAN, 68, of So. Zane Highway, Martins Ferry, OH, died Friday, August 17, 2012.
He was born in Martins Ferry, OH on May 31, 1944, a son of the late William Arnold and Elizabeth Ann Laughman who survives him of Martins Ferry.
He was a retired warehouse manager at former Allying and Cory of Bellaire, OH. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry. Richard also served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Marie James.
In addition to his wife, Lillian B. (Bierie) Laughman, he is survived by his mother and two sons, Richard L. Laughman, Jr., Bridgeport, OH and Joseph J. Laughman of Martins Ferry; brother, William A. Laughman, Jr., also of Martins Ferry; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 with Rev. Tom Marut as the Celebrant.
Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove, OH.
Rosary was held Monday at the funeral home at 3 pm followed by a Wake Service at 7:45 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Daily Bread Center, 420 Walnut Street, Martins Ferry, OH 43935.

CHESTER BRIAN PHILLIPS

CHESTER BRIAN PHILLIPS, 31, of N. Zane Highway, Martins Ferry, OH, died Sunday, August 19, 2012.
He was born in Onieda, TN on October 19, 1980, a son of the late Sarah Ann (Sexton) and Chester Phillips.
In addition to his father, he is survived by three brothers, Herman (Angela) Phillips, Martins Ferry, OH ; Shannie L. Phillips, Warwood, WV and Charlie L. Barnes, Huntsville, TN.
At the family's request there will be no visitation. Services are private at the convenience of family.

FATHER JOHN H. "JACK" BELFIELD

FATHER JOHN H. "JACK" BELFIELD, died peacefully August 19, 2012 in Canton, OH.
He was born December 28, 1923 in Martins Ferry, OH.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, John Fisher Belfield and Loretta O'Donnell Belfield, and his dear sister, Agnes Belfield.
He is survived by two sisters: Rita Whitlatch (Raymond-deceased) of Sebring FL and Mary Christmycr (Harold) of Mentor, OH. Fr. Belfield also leaves behind his dear cousin, Pal Geho of Sebring, FL, family friend, Christine Jobson of Garfield Hts, OH, and a host of neices, nephews and friends who loved him and will miss him daily.
Fr. Belfield attended four seminaries in preparation for his vocation to the priesthood: St. John Vianncy, Bloomingdalc, OH, 1981, University of Steubcnvil1e, Steubcnville, OH. Theological College, Washington. D.C., and Catholic University of America. He was ordained by the late Bishop John King Mussio of Stc:ubenvillc OH, May 31, 1958. His priestly assignments included teacher and vice-principal at Catholic Central HS, Steubcnville, OH; on staff of the Stcubenville Register; instructor at St. John Vianney Seminary; leader of the Jewish-Christian Secretariat; member of the council of priests; president of the Diocesan Priest's Senate; coordinator of Diocesan Health Care and a member of the Diocesan Entertainment Commission. He was assigned to Holy Name Cathedral, Stcubenville, St. Pius the Tenth, Steubenville, St. Agnes, Mingo Junction. St John Bosco Mission, Sardis; St. Mathias Mission, Freeport; Christ the King Mission, Tappan Lake and Chaplain/Client Advocate, Cambridge Mental Health and Development Center. In Cambridge, he was the chaplain of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Daughters of America., Scouting. and Hospice. Since his ordination, he has celebrated Mass in 29 countries, including Rome while on pilgrimages there.
He retired December 23, 1993 and moved to Sebring. Florida with his family where he played many rounds of golf and served as an assistant to the pastor at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in neighboring Avon Park, Fl.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Tom Marut as the Celebrant at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry OH.
Interment followed in St. Mary's cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the day care center for adults with memory problems at Change of Pace, 4514 Hammock Rd., Sebring, Fl. 33872.

EDWARD J. FROHNAPFEL

EDWARD J. FROHNAPFEL, 77, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at his residence, leaving a legacy of love and laughter among his many family and friends.
Edward was born October 9, 1934, owned and operated Red Arrow Gulf and Car Wash, and retired in 1996. He was proud to be a member of the 1951 OVAC AA championship St. John's Fighting Irish football team, and he won an athletic scholarship to the University of Iowa. While serving in the U.S. Army and assigned to the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, Ed met and married Lorraine Tattarelli. They had five children together during a 55 year marriage adventure.
Ed is survived by Lorraine and his children Stacey Frohnapfel-Hasson and husband Gary, Steve Frohnapfel and wife Lynn, Theresa Frohnapfel Hodge and husband Bill, Matthew Frohnapfel and wife Andrea, Jennifer Frohnapfel Patterson and husband Bruce, and 11 beautiful grandchildren: Emily, Anthony, Sarah, Mariah, Blake, Eric, Kirby, Jenna, Cole, Peyton, and Zachary. He is preceded in death by father Joseph Frohnapfel and mother Albertha Fox Frohnapfel. Of his five siblings, he is survived by Linda Frohnapfel Evans and preceded in death by sisters Leona Frohnapfel Wilson and Mary Lou Frohnapfel Hawkins, and brothers Ray and Robert Frohnapfel.
Ed is a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church in Colerain.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Frances Cabrini Church, Colerain, OH at 11 a.m on Friday, August 24, 2012 with Father Dale Tornes as the Celebrant.
Interment followed in St. Mary's cemetery, Martins Ferry.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Central High School, 2625 Gurnsey Street, Bellaire, OH 43906 or St. Frances Cabrini Church, P. O. Box 38, Colerain, OH 43916.
Scripture Service was held at the funeral home Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

JOHN BRIAN CAPRITA

JOHN BRIAN CAPRITA, 37, of Virginia Street, Martins Ferry, Oh., died Sunday, September 2, 2012.
John was born in Bellaire, Ohio on November 24, 1974, a son of Harry J. and Sandra Sue (Berletch) Caprita of Martins Ferry.
He was a retired police officer for the city of Cambridge, Oh. John was a member of Ohio City Lodge #486 F & AM.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, April L.(Wildman) Caprita; daughter, Cambyl M. Caprita, Windsor Heights, W.Va.; son, Brydan J. Caprita, Senecaville, Oh.; three brothers, Todd Caprita, Jamie Caprita and Josh C. Caprita, all of Martins Ferry, Oh.
Funeral service were held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Philip K. Van Dam officiating.

ERMA REASBECK

ERMA REASBECK, 95, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
She was born June 18, 1917, in Martins Ferry, Oh., daughter of the late Charles and Effie Caldwell Ellis.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was active in the Catholic Daughters of America, for which she received an award for fifty years of service. She also served as president of the Mackey Community Center for forty years. Erma was a member of the Martins Ferry Booster Club and an avid supporter of Martins Ferry Schools in the areas of academics and athletics. In 2001, she was named Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Month, and was a nominee for Citizen of the Year. Erma held the position of Democratic precinct judge for the Belmont County Board of Elections, serving in her home precinct for twenty-five years, in addition to many other areas of community volunteer service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Reasbeck in 1996; one sister, Thelma Ellis Pasz; four brothers, Ray, James, Edward and Charles.
Survivors include two sons, Richard (Larai) Reasbeck of Yorkville, Oh. and David (Cynthia) Reasbeck of Martins Ferry; one daughter, Suzanne Reasbeck of Bardstown, Ky.; three grandchildren, David (Danielle) Reasbeck and Anthony Reasbeck of Martins Ferry and Christinia (Karl) Reasbeck-Huber of Sykesville, Md.; two greatgrandchildren, Sabine and Greta Reasbeck-Huber; one brother, William Ellis of Martins Ferry.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant.
Interment followed in St. Mary's cemetery, Martins Ferry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Martins Ferry Schools Student Athletic Growth Fund, 5001 Ayers-Limestone Road, Martins Ferry, Oh. 43935, or the Mackey Community Center, 1520 N. Eighth S1. Martins Ferry, Oh. 43935.
Wake service will be held Thursday at 8:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family extends its gratitude to the staff at Beacon House and the third floor nursing staff at East Ohio Regional Hospital for their kind attention to Erma.

MACK BERNARD "BERNIE" PROBST

MACK BERNARD "BERNIE" PROBST, 77, of Mercer Road, St. Clairsville, OH died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in New Martinsville, WV, on August 3, 1935, a son of the late Lawrence and Laura E. (Hamilton) Probst.
Bernie was a retired employee of Nickles Bakery of Martins Ferry.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Colerain V.F.W. Post 8848 and a member of Harrisville Covenant Presbyterian Church of Harrisville, OH.
He is survived by his wife, Clara J. (Ayers) Probst; three daughters: Judy A. (Michael) Kinnick, St. Clairsville, OH; Lois J. (Rob) Marshall, Indianhead, MD; Amy J. (Marty) Barnes, Bridgeport, OH; two brothers, Jim (Josie) Probst and Charlie (Shirley) Probst, both of Martins Ferry; six grandchildren: Zach and Matt Kinnick; Travis and Amanda Marshall; Kayla and Logan Barnes; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service were held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 with Rev. Barry Hall officiating.
Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove, OH.
Belmont Council of the V.F.W. gave military honors prior to the service.

CHARLES LEROY KIDDER

CHARLES LEROY KIDDER, 57, of N. 9th Street, Martins Ferry, OH, died Saturday, September 15, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on January 12, 1955, he was the son of the late Donald and Lillian Kidder.
He was a retired employee of Jay & L. Montgomery Roofing of Martins Ferry.
He is survived by son, Jamey Kidder, Wheeling, WV and a daughter, Renee Doty, Colerain, OH; grandchildren: Kayana and Kiria Kidder; Jillian, Graysen and Jonathan Doty; Joshua Snider; four brothers: Jay and Lee Ann Montgomery; Joey Amos; Jimmy Kidder; and Donnie and Cindy Kidder; three sisters: Sharron and Pete Weeks; Melinda and Rob Fischer; Kimber Lym; uncle, Charles Kidder; nephews and nieces, T. J. and Brittany Montgomery, Michelle Woodford, Christina and James Wise, Jamie Stenger and Alisha Kidder.
Friends received at 1112 N. 9th Street, Martins Ferry Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 2 until time of memorial service at 6 p.m.
