Edith Fustana Nave
Maud resident Edith Fustana (Rhodd) Nave, 88, died Wednesday at her residence.

She was born Jan. 12, 1914, in Sacred Heart to John Baptist and Adeline (Thorpe) Rhodd.

She married Hooley Allen Nave March 2, 1938, in Tulsa. She was a homemaker and worked for a tire company for 15 years and in aeronautics for 10 years.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Sac & Fox and Kickapoo Tribes, Sacred Heart Altar Society, Sacred Heart Potawatomi Organization and is on the Citizen Potawatomi rolls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include a son, Allison Hooley Nave of Maud; three daughters, Carole Patricia Nave of Washington state, Marie Nave Tredway and Arlene Rosette Nave Bush, both of Maud; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a brother, Frank E. Rhodd of Konawa; five sisters, Viola Rhodd Allen of Asher, Eva Rhodd Jordan of Saint Louis, Cleda Rhodd Curley and Charlotte Rhodd Alderson, both of Maud, and Johnnie Mae Rhodd Tallbear of Saint Louis.

Services will be 11 a.m Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Mathew Brown, O.S.B.m officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Viewing will be at her home, southwest of Maud. Rosary will be at 5 p.m. Friday at the family home. Tribal ceremony will be held just before moving to the church Saturday morning.

Naomi Louise Mahan
Naomi Louise (Goode) Mahan of Del City died Tuesday at her home. She was 75.
Surviving are her sons, Gary Young of Sudbury, Mass., Jimmie Young, Ashland, Ore., and Robert Place, Santa Rosa, Calif.; daughter, Phyllis Woods of Yukon; sister, Billie White of Prague; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Services will be 1 p.m. today in the Parks Brothers Funeral Service Chapel in Prague. Burial will follow in Paden-Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Eddie N. Tucker Jr.
Meeker resident Eddie N. Tucker Jr. was born, Nov. 8, 1930, in New Orleans, La., and died Saturday, Feb. 21, in Shawnee at the age of 73.

Tucker was the son of Eddie Napoleon and Inez (Lafleur) Tucker. He married Doris Mae Partin Oct. 21, 1951, in Santa Rosa, Calif. He retired from the United States Air Force following 20 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and VFW.

His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include wife, Doris Tucker of the home; sons, Eddie N. Tucker III of Oklahoma City, and Eric R. Tucker of Meeker; daughters, Julia Lindsay of McLoud, and Carolyn Lujan of Longmont, Colo.; sister, Vivian Zumo of Walker, La.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague.

Wyvell Penner
Wyvell "Irene" Penner of Tecumseh died Wednesday, Feb. 18. She was 77 years old.

She was born Aug. 1, 1926. She was a member of the First Church of God Seventh Day.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Richardson; her father, Mose Rogers, and one sister, Lela Cooper.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred Penner; three sons, David Manwarin of Tulsa, Rick Penner of St. Louis, Mo., and Daniel Manwarin of Bethany; two daughters, Diane Harrison of Moore and Kay Garner of Peru, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Nelda Stutzman of Guthrie, and eight nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was Friday at Moore City Cemetery in Moore. Arrangements were under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel.

Lauwneta Sue Orphan
Former Shawnee resident Lauwneta Sue Orphan, 60, of Ada died Thursday, Feb. 19, in Shreveport, La.

Wake was Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home. Services were Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada with the Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Burial was at Allen Cemetery.

Arthur B. Epperson Sr.
Arthur B. Epperson Sr., 86, of Shawnee died Sunday, Feb. 22, at a local hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Leroy Kerbo officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Gene Wages
Gene Wages died Saturday, Feb. 21, at his Stroud home. He was 67 years old.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Stroud with the Rev. James Lame and the Rev. Tom Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery.

Onis Virgil Raines
Onis Virgil "Shorty" Raines, 82, died Tuesday at his home in Prague.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Raines of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kenneth Raines of Marysville, Calif., and Dean and Shirley Raines of Prague; two daughters, Anita "June" Ray of Oklahoma City and Darlene Cox of Porter, Okla.; one stepson and wife, Ray and Mary Carver of Prague; one stepdaughter and husband, Sandy and Sherman Mendenhall of Prague; one brother and sister-in-law, Odell and Patsy Raines of Prague; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lodema and Charlie Morrison of Muskogee, Ovie Chastain of Prague, Loretta Kerr of Prague, Dretha Miller of Muskogee and Dretta and Joe Smith of Harrah; 17 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Little Cemetery with the Rev. Starland Davis officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Bill J. West
Bill J. West, 70, Seminole, died Tuesday at Seminole Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Claudetta May West, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Peggy West, Seminole; brother, Jay Lee West of Klamath Falls, Okla., and sister, Bessie West McCollum of Homeland, Calif.; 10 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bob Anderson officiating. Swearington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Alan Buddy Cowden
Longtime Chandler businessman and resident Alan Buddy Cowden, 71, died Tuesday.
Services are set for Friday at First United Methodist Church in Chandler under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.

Alice Aleene Malcom
Alice Aleene Wheeler Malcom, 82, of Tecumseh died Thursday, Feb. 20.

She was born April 20, 1920, in Parker, Kan., to Charley Olis and Cloie Mae Smith Wheeler.

Malcom attended school at Lath Branch School for eight years before transferring to Fort Scott High School where she graduated in 1938. She attended Fort Scott Community College for two years.

During World War II, she worked for Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., as a riveter on the wings and fuselage of Beech Trainers.

On Oct. 26, 1941, she married Albert Dell Malcom in the First Christian Church in Nevada, Mo.

They lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, for 21 years. Malcom was employed by the state of Alaska Department of Public Safety (Alaska State Troopers) until her retirement in 1975.

Malcom and her husband were active members of the MO-ARK Appaloosa Horse Club and several other local saddle clubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, her sister, Veda Fern Simons; and two brothers, Emerson Lorne Wheeler and Ralph Lee Wheeler.

Survivors include two daughters, Vonnie Malcom of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Anita Cannon of Tecumseh; one son-in-law, P. Jan Cannon of Tecumseh; five grandchildren, Denyse Moberly, Tyler Wilbur and Meghan Kolendo of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Tamara Zizzo and Gregory Holm of Tucson, Ariz.; four great-grandchildren; one stepgrandson; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel in Fort Scott, Kan., followed by graveside services at the Fort Scott National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Malcom's name to the Fort Scott High School Assistance Scholarship Fund-Class of 1938, 1005 S. Main Street, Fort Scott, Kan., 66701.

Michael Steven Downing
Michael Steven Downing, 62, of Ringling died Tuesday.

Survivors include his mother, Avis Downing of Ringling; three brothers, Timothy Downing of Edgar, Mont., Damon Downing of Denton, Texas, and Brian Downing of Shawnee; two sisters, Deborah Jester of Tishomingo and Genilee Taylor of Maud; and 15 nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Ringling with the Rev. Wayne Taylor and the Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Spivey's Reser Funeral Home of Ringling.

Michael Lincoln
The Rev. Michael Lincoln, 49, of Shawnee died Wednesday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born Sept. 12, 1953, in Tulsa to Chuck and Martha Lincoln.

He graduated from Choctaw High School.

Lincoln was a pastor at the Mending Hearts Ministries Church.

On Jan, 20, 1990, he married Rhonda Lincoln in Gainsville, Texas.

He served in the U.S. Army in the military police. He had also served on the board of directors of the Independent Assemblies.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Lincoln of the home; five childrens and spouses, Rebecca and Johnny Jones of Newalla, and Jami Wooton and Lorin Lincoln of the home, Mike Lincoln of Houston, Texas, and Randall and Megan Lincoln of McLoud; five grandchildren; his parents, Chuck and Martha Lincoln; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Billy Spinks of Newalla, Sandra and Don Clouse of Tomball, Texas, and Rebekah and Cecil Gibbs of Houston, Texas; friends Alvin and Faye Webster of Del City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Evangelistic Center with the Rev. John Parish and the Rev. Mickey Keith officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Sheila Kay Sparks
Sheila Kay Sparks, 52, of Oklahoma City and formerly of Shawnee, died Wednesday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Survivors include her mother, Aleta R. Miles of Shawnee; sisters and brother-in-law, Jeannie Miles of Shawnee, Aleta and Charles Alexander of Shawnee, and Sherie Sparks of Georgia; brothers, Steven P. Sparks of Shawnee, Rick Sparks of Norco, Calif., and Don Sparks of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Charlene F. Ingram
Charlene F. "Charlie" Ingram, 74, formerly of Healdton, died Wednesday in Ardmore.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home; one son, Franky and Rita Ingram of Ardmore; one daughter, Nelda and Danny Hester of Lone Grove; three sisters, Beloysia Dobbins, Katie Lemley of Ratliff City and Evelena Street of Shawnee; two brothers, Cecil Walls of Sunnyvale, Calif., and R.C. Ingram of Evansbille, Ind.; three granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Carter officiating. Visitation will be Sunday. Burial will be 2 p.m. Monday at McGee Cemetery in Stratford. Arrangements are under the direction of Spivey's Reser Funeral Home of Healdton.
