Josie Blythe
Tecumseh resident Josie Blythe, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, in Tecumseh.

She was born Feb. 7, 1916, in North Dunbar, Okla., to Joseph Edward and Eva Mahala (Harrell) Payne.

Josie was raised in Eubanks and moved to Asher Christmas 1949. She lived in Asher until 1995. She then moved back to Antlers in southeastern Oklahoma. The best part of her life was spent on the farm in Asher with Sam and the kids. Josie attended Miller and Dunbar schools.

She was married July 1936 in Antlers to Sam Blythe. He preceded her in death March 1974.

Josie was a homemaker and worked at N&R Feed and Hardware. She was a member of many home demonstration clubs and garden clubs, and a member of the Asher Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed playing dominoes and going on cruises and traveling the world. Above all else, she loved spending most of her time with her husband and children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Anderson Blythe; one son and one daughter; sisters, Elvie Hollingworth, Cooter Engle, Elsie Payne, Susie Jackson and Jewel Crump; brothers, Bud Payne, Josh Payne and Joe Edward Payne; two grandsons, Charles Edward Lamirand Jr., and Bill Blythe; and a great-granddaughter, Sadie Grace Malone.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Lamirand and her husband, Charles, of Asher, Betty Simpson of Tecumseh, Geneva Brumley and her husband, Russell, of Moore; Son, Doyle Blythe and his wife, Vickie, of Antlers, 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; two sisters-in-law, Lois Payne of Moyers and Frances Payne of Valiant.

Service will be 10:00 a.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh, with Father John Norvell, of St. Luke's Episcopal in Ada officiating. Burial will be at Wanette Cemetery.

Steven Roger Smith
Earlsboro resident Steven Roger Smith, 32, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, at a Oklahoma City hospital.

Steven was born April 14, 1974 in Shawnee to Benny and Linda (Garrison) Smith.

In 1993 Steven graduated from Cherryvale High School in Cherryvale, Kan., where he participated in band and Boys State for two years. He later attended Independence Community College. He worked as an overnight stocker at Shawnee Wal-Mart for 5 years

Preceding him in death were his father, Benny Smith Jan. 13, 2006.

Survivors include his mother, Linda Smith of Earlsboro; uncle, Bob Garrison and his wife Saundra of Seminole; aunt, Suzanne Polson and husband Norman of Independence, Kan.; cousins, Ron Garrison of Dallas, Texas, Robert W. Garrison of Pembroke, Fla., Brandon and Bradley Smith of Shawnee; half brother, Danny (Smith) Yarbrough; close family friend Lisa Bundy of Shawnee.

Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Bettie Imogene Boswell
Shawnee resident Bettie Imogene Boswell, 81, died Friday, Jan. 19, at a local nursing home.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Chapel.

Other information is pending with Walker Funeral Service.

Dorothy O. Townsley
Chandler resident Dorothy O. Townsley, 86, died Friday, Jan. 19.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler.

Raymond Lee Sellers
Bowlegs resident Raymond Lee Sellers, 60, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

James Monroe King
Paris, Texas, resident James Monroe King, 70, died Thursday, Jan. 18, in Oklahoma City.

A service with military honors will be 4 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery in Seminole County under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Otis W. Jones
Bache, Okla. resident Otis W. Jones, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at his residence.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Bishop Chapel of Memories. Burial will be 2 p.m. at Prague cemeterywith the Rev. James Davis officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory, McAlester.

Ronald Warren Faxon
Ronald Warren Faxon, 53, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas, after a long battle with cancer.

He served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Electrician before he retired with honors. After retiring from the U.S. Navy he continued his career in Aviation with L3 Vertex Communications in Kingsville, Texas.

He was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and generous provider.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Ruth Faxon of Shawnee and his brother, Mike Faxon of Holdenville.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Corpus Christi, Texas; sons, Paul Faxon of Virginia Beach, Va., and Kenneth (Amanda) Faxon of Corpus Christi; grandsons, Miekko (son of Paul) Faxon of Virginia Beach, Va., Hayden (son of Kenneth) Faxon of Corpus Christi, and Lucas (son of Kenneth) Faxon of Corpus Christi; brothers, Robert James Faxon of Shawnee, Paul Faxon of Holdenville and Billy Smith, of Shawnee; sisters, Susan Faxon of Shawnee, Teresa Faxon, of Oklahoma City, and Sandra Smith of Merritt Island, Fla.; father, Robert Faxon of Oklahoma City.

He will be greatly missed by his numerous nieces and nephews and family members throughout Texas and Oklahoma.

Memorial Service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.

James D. Eichling
Shawnee resident James D. Eichling, 58, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, in Norman.

He was born March 21, 1949, to Robert E. and Bernice (Duncan) Eichling in Yokahama, Japan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Eichling Sr.

Mr. Eichling is survived by his wife, Cheryl Eichling of the home; his mother, Bernice Eichling of Ft. Smith, Ark.; a son, Brett Eichling of Shawnee; a daughter, Katherine Eichling of Austin, Texas; a brother, Robert Eichling Jr. and his wife, Judith, of Lawton; nieces, Gretchen Reasoner, Wendy Sterkel and numerous extended family and friends.

Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Primrose Chapel with Pastor Greg Garvey officiating. Services are under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.

Stella Sue McCullar
Shawnee resident Stella Sue McCullar, 43, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, in Shawnee.

Arrangements are pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home.

Wynona Ruth Stinnett
Former Shawnee resident Wynona Ruth (Nelson) Stinnett, currently of Warner, died Friday, Jan. 19, at Countryside Estates.

She was born Nov. 17, 1935, in Shawnee to Herbey Lee and Ruth (Pinkston) Nelson.

She graduated from Bethel High School. She loved plants, flowers and arts and crafts.

Preceding her in death were her son, Terry Stinnett; three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include two sons, James Stinnett and wife, Cheryl, of Holdenville and Sean Stinnett; two brothers; six sisters; three grandchildren, Tasha Stinnett, Jamie Stinnett and Courtney Scisms; and two great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Mixon officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Elsa Lavon Schulze
Longtime Seminole County resident died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.

No visitation is planned.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Seminole with Jim Knowles officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery of Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Mark Hayward Emmons
Lifelong Seminole resident Mark Hayward Emmons, 28, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, in Shawnee.

Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Little Cemetery Chapel located at Little Cemetery with Jimmy Moreland officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Service is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Bailey Brooks
Konawa resident Bailey Brooks died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at the age of 5.

Services are pending under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Larry Lee Sullivan
Shawnee resident Larry Lee Sullivan, 66, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, in a local hospital.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee.

Walker Funeral Service will have further announcements.

Carolyn Sue Millin
Shawnee resident Carolyn Sue Millin, 52, died Wednesday, Jan 24.

Service is pending under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler.

Judy Mae Power
McAlester resident Judy Mae Power, 59, died Monday, Jan. 22, in McAlester.

Services will be 2 a.m. Saturday at Parks Bothers Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Edward Capers officiating.

Arrangements are under Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
