Marjorie Ann Payne
Longtime Wellston resident Marjorie Ann Payne died Friday in Edmond at age 74.

Surviving relatives include four sons, Gary Payne, Leslie Payne and Mike Payne, all of Wellston, and Tommy Payne of Euless, Texas; two daughters, Josa Boydston of Luther and Sheri Landrith of Nicoma Park; a sister, Kathrine Roper of Spencer; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Wellston.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Wellston, with the Rev. Jack Poe officiating. Burial will follow at Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.

Mary Jo Deshields
Shawnee resident Mary Jo Deshields died Tuesday, May 3, at her home.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. M.LS Stocks Sr officiating. Further information is pending and will be announced by Resthaven Funeral Home.

Elnora Lola Remley
Shawnee resident Elnora Lola Remley, 78, died Tuesday, May 1, at Unity North Hospital.

She was born Jan. 3, 1929, to Cashe and Minnie (Braun) Miller, in Springfield, Ohio.

She married Floyd Remley in January 1952 and they spent 44 wonderful years together when he passed on Nov. 10, 1995.

Elnora loved traveling around the United States and Canada, and she loved flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother; Aunt, Lena Rust.

Survivors include her children, Catherine Shanaway and husband, Richard, of Shawnee, Karen Brewster and husband, Mark, of Michigan, Sandra Bazydlo and husband, Alex, of Florida, Floyd Allen Remley and wife, Debra, of Michigan, and Robert Remley, of Michigan; Sister, Mable Harner of Texas; Grandchildren, Carrie Hunt and husband, Craig, Sarah Donaho and husband, Kevin, Amanda Shanaway, Danielle Reynolds, Molly Remley, Alexander Remley, Rayna Brewster, Keegan Brewster, Lindsey Bazydlo, and Shelby Bazydlo; great-grandchildren, Connor Donaho, McKayla Hunt, and Aurora Reynolds; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation service was held at an earlier date.

Charles James Self
Oklahoma City resident Charles James Self, 75, passed away Thursday, May 3.

He was born June 24, 1931.

Charles was a Corporal in the U. S. Army and served during the Korean War era. He retired after 30 years at the FAA as a Master Cabinet Maker. His favorite job was with Ray Daniels at Rays Auto. Charles dedicated his life to serving the Lord since March 1960 as a member of the Assemble of Yahweh and attended service at Church of God 7th Day in Del City. Fluent in Spanish, he recently traveled to Mexico with his best friend Arturo, on a mission trip, to take clothes and bikes to children in need.

He was survived by his wife of 54 years, Sarah Self; children, Janie and Jack Williams Porter and Nancy Self, Corby and Donna Self, Darla and Eric Stevenson; 17 grandchildren; four great-granddaughter; numerous other relatives whom he loved and adored.

The family will received friends 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today.

Service will be 9 a.m. Monday at Advantage (405)682-1682 Chapel, 7720 S. Penn. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.

Boyce Edwin Williams
Prague resident Boyce Edwin Williams, 85, departed this life Sunday, May 6, in Prague.

He was born May 3, 1922, to John Rube and Clarabel (Daniel) Williams, in Belmont.

He graduated from Prague High School with the class of 1940 and attended Southwestern State for two years.

He married Agnes Jones on January 5, 1944, in Shawnee. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in January. They lived in Bartlesville for several years.

Boyce proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II during which time he was engaged in combat during the invasion of Kiska Island, Aleutians, and was in the major offensive against the German Gothic Line. Boyce was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

He retired from Eason Oil Company in Crescent in 1986 where he was the transportation manager and returned to Prague. Boyce was a member of the American Legion, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge at Bartlesville, a member of the Akdar Shrine in Tulsa, and a member of the View of the Cross Church in Prague.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Williams of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald S. and Joyce Williams of Amarillo, Texas, Philip E. and Gail Williams of Lansing, Mich., Keith and Angie Williams of Wagoner; grandchildren, Chad, Renee, Heather, Kristen, Philip, Jr., Megan, and Katy; five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Gail and Betty Williams of Terrell, Texas; sisters, Elnora Munn of Hawthorne, Calif., Evelyn Branscum of Mantica, Calif.

The family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Bob Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at the Prague Cemetery.

Charles R. VanVranken
Stroud resident Charles R. VanVranken, 26, died Monday, May 7, in Stroud.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Stroud with the Rev. Burl Mackey officiating.

Arrangements under the direction of Parks Bother Funeral Services, Stroud.

Danny Raper
Lifelong Maud area resident Danny Raper, 71, died Sunday, May 6, at his home near Maud.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Louis First Baptist Church, Saint Louis.

Arrangements under the direction of Knight-Swearingen.

Charlotte Mae Treece
Shawnee resident Charlotte Mae Treece, 58, passed away Sunday, May 6, at Unity North Hospital.

She was born July 23, 1948, in Arizona.

She married Harold Lee Treece Sr., in 1965. They enjoyed many years together before he passed in 2001.

She loved taking care of her family, but most of all, she enjoyed being a grandma.

She is survived by her children, Harold Lee Treece Jr., of Shawnee, Wesley Earl Treece Sr., of Shawnee, Benjamin Cullen Treece of Venita, Nila Mae Treece of Shawnee, Danny Ray Jones Treece of Shawnee, Dennis Wayne Jones Treece of Asher; brother, Earl Cullen Combs of Shawnee; 14 grandchildren; her sister in spirit, Doris and all her friends at Loving Care.

Charlotte will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

No service will be held at the request of the family.

George Lee Yarbrough
Shawnee resident George Lee Yarbrough, 86, died Saturday, May 5, in Shawnee.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Chris Talley officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Joyce Burkhart
Seminole resident Joyce Burkhart, 79, died Sunday, May 6, in Tupelo Mississippi.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doylk Long officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Arrangements under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

George Lee Yarbrough
Shawnee resident George Lee Yarbrough, 86, died Saturday, May 5, in Shawnee.

He was born on July 26, 1920, to George Ernest and Florence Louise (King) Yarbrough in Shawnee.

He graduated from Bethel High School and received bachelor and master degree in literature from Oklahoma A&M.

On Nov. 30, 1946, he married Ruth Irene Spears in Shawnee.

Though he traveled much of the world, he lived most of his life on the land where he was born. Following his marriage, they lived for a short time in Caracas, Venezuela, but moved home to rear their three children in the Bethel area.

In World War II, he served with the Army Air Corps in the Mediterranean theatre as a bombardier aboard B17 bombers. He flew 68 combat missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal.

His primary occupation was school teacher, from which he retired after 25 years of service in the Tecumseh School system.

His retirement afforded him the opportunity to travel extensively, mostly to Spanish speaking countries. He loved languages and continued his studies through international workshops. At the age of 80, George was awarded by the Worldwide Teachers Development Institute in Guadalajara, Mexico, the Boston Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certificate.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Ann Mayes in 1986; his wife in 1993; and his daughter-in-law, Linda Kay Yarbrough in 2004.

Survivors include his son, Gary Yarbrough; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and David Henry; grandchildren, Steve Yarbrough and wife, Elisha; Mandy Yarbrough Bloomfield and husband, Ronnie; Mark Mayes and wife, Sarah; Jill Mayes Sais and husband, Al; T. J. Mayes; Kerri Henry Mathews and husband, Chad; and Joe Henry and wife, Chrissy; great-granchildren, Jonathan, James, Lorelei and Landry Yarbrough; Kelcie Carpenter; Brook Bloomfield; Jay Carpenter; Pete and Luke Mayes; Jaxson Mathews, and ValeriaAnn Sais; brother, Ed Yarbrough; and host of other relatives.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Chris Talley officiating. The family has designated Angelic Hospice of Shawnee or Bethel United Methodist Church as appropriate for memorials.
