Mollie M. Carter

TAHLEQUAH -- Services for Mollie Marie Carter will be held at 2 pm., Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Reed-Culver Chapel, with Rev. Gerald Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Park Hill Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Jack Green, Ray Teague, Roy Teague, Jay Kindle, Ted Heth and Ronnie Carter.

Mollie Marie Carter was born Oct. 4, 1934, in Tahlequah, to Jim and Flossie (Mason) Leep. She passed from this life on Saturday, July 11, 2004, at her home in Keys. Mollie was a homemaker and also worked at the Tahlequah Wal-Mart for about 12 years. Her first loves were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mollie was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Carter; her parents; and a sister, Pauline Perez.

She is survived by her son, Larry Carter and wife Fredia; two sisters, Francis Teague and Katie Davis; two brothers, Buster Leep and Johnny Leep; three grandchildren, Shawn Carter, Lori Kindle and Amanda Carter; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Kindle, Macy Kindle and Morgan Carter.

Jeffrey Paul Anderson Sr.

TAHLEQUAH - Jeffrey Paul Anderson Sr. passed from this life Thursday, July 8, 2004, in Woodall, at the age of 40 years.

He was born Feb. 16, 1964, to Dale Wayne and Corene (Collins) Anderson. Jeffrey was a student at Indian Capital Technology Center, where he was taking computer classes. He had also been attending the Blessed Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving Jeffrey are his two daughters, Cindy Anderson, her husband Christopher and Crystal Anderson; one son, Jeffrey Paul Anderson Jr.; the mother of his children, Shari Bellis; his mother, Corene Fisher and her husband, "Shrimp"; and three brothers, Scotty Dale Anderson, Michael Wayne Anderson and Dwayne Van Anderson.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his wife, Veletta; father, Dale Anderson; a sister, Lori Ann Anderson; and his grandparents, Roy and Pauline Anderson, and Broxer Sr. and Pearl Collins.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2004, at Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will follow at Price Cemetery.

Alan L. Henricks

TAHLEQUAH - Alan L. Henricks, 62 passed away on July 9, 2004.

He was born June 8, 1942 in Oklahoma City and moved to Tahlequah in 1997. Alan graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute and was an accomplished pianist. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Alan was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Henricks.

Survivors include his father, Art Henricks; his stepmother, Blanche Henricks; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Carol Henricks; two nieces and one great nephew.

Alan was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. There will be no funeral services. Arrangements are by Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Wanda "Squaw" Savage

TAHLEQUAH -- Memorial services for Wanda "Squaw" Savage, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at Reed-Culver Chapel, with Rev. Ross Gourd officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah

Wanda "Squaw" Savage passed from this life Thursday, July 8, 2004, in Tulsa, at the age of 46 years. She was born Jan. 23, 1958, in Tahlequah, to Wilson and Dessie (Grasshopper) Oosahwe. She later married James Savage. Wanda was a childcare worker for John Ketcher Youth Shelter.

Surviving Wanda is her loving husband, Jim; her special child, Marcus "Boogie" Johnson and his mother Renee; two sisters, Lela Christie and Georgia Oosahwe; and three brothers: Jess Oosahwe, Chester Oosahwe and Wilson Oosahwe Jr.

Agnes Casas

TAHLEQUAH - Agnes Casas was born on Jan. 24, 1915 in Winnipeg, Mo. to William and Nancy (Mosier) Baker. She passed from this life on June 15, 2004 in Tahlequah, at the age of 89 years.

Agnes was a member of the Church of Christ in Tahlequah and worked until retiring as a cook at Tahlequah City Hospital.

Agnes is preceded in death by her three daughters, Helen Jamison, Josephine Louise Casas and Agnes Lee Casas.

Survivors include her son, Bill Casas; her grandchildren, Brenda Owen and husband Larry of Douglas, Ga., Jackie Farrow and husband Kenneth of Tahlequah, Carolyn Coyne of Naperville, Ill., Janice Bell and husband Doyle of Rose, Okla., Jesse Jamison and wife Beverly of Tahlequah, Perry Jamison and wife Kathy of Keys, Okla., her great-grandchildren, Mariah Hix and husband Billy Gene of Tahlequah, Angela Farrow, Laura Coyne, William Coyne, Kevin Coyne, Dee W. Bell, Martha Bell, Loren, Andy, Matthew, Amy and August.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004, at Reed-Culver Chapel. Burial will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Pallbearers will include, Randall Morgan, Rudy Waldroop, Danny Mason, Dean Kelley, Max Ellis and Charles VanLandingham.

Blanche Burk Meek

RALEIGH, N.C. - Blanche Burk Meek of Raleigh, N.C., died June 11, 2004 of cancer.

She was born on May 23, 1936 in Tahlequah, and grew up there. She was the daughter of Ruby Burk, of Tahlequah, and the late Carl H. Burk.

She graduated from high school in Tahlequah and graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma State College.

She married Cleo M. Meek in 1957, and is survived by him and their three daughters, Melissa, Melinda and Michele Meek, all of Raleigh.

She is also survived by her mother, Ruby Burk; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Raymond Couser, of Russellville, Ark., Sue and J.W. James, of Keys, Okla., and Carol and James Haney, also of Keys; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Meek, of Gainsville, Fla.; and three nieces and six nephews.

Blanche was a member of St. James United Methodist Church of Raleigh and was very active in the Altar Guild and the Mary Brown Circle as well as many other activities.

A memorial service was held in the church. The body was cremated. Any memorial contributions may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 3808 St. James Church Road, Raleigh, N.C. 27604.

Samantha Jo Smith

HULBERT - Services for Samantha J. Smith, 26, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Harold Ridenhour. Serving as pallbearers are her cousins, Jason Smith, Adam Richmond, Scott Twist, Bobbie Taylor, Brock Blakely, and Jesse Rackliff. Honorary pallbearers will be her uncles, Norman, Larry, Gary, Ricky, Robert, and Gerald Rackliff. Interment will follow in the Green Leaf cemeteryunder the care of Green Country Funeral Home.

Samantha was born on July 9, 1977, in Tahlequah. She passed from this life on June14, 2004, at W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah. Samantha enjoyed making handquilts and baskets. She was a collector of angels.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Janice Smith, and stepfather, Ed Nottingham of the home; a sister, Monica Smith; two nephews, Trevor and Logan Payne; and a special doctor, James Lewis, all of Tahlequah.
