BONITA J. JAMES

BEAVER, Okla. -- Bonita Joye James, 62, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at her home southwest of Beaver.

She was born May 22, 1937, to Cyrus Olia and Gladys Marie (Hoogendorn) Dean in Twin Falls, Idaho.

She came to Beaver County at a young age and had been a resident there ever since.

She married M.C. James June 5, 1954, in Elmwood, Okla. He survives.

She graduated from Beaver High School in 1955. She was a housewife and a rancher.

She was a member of the Church of Christ for over 50 years.

Other survivors include one son, Greg James, Balko, Okla.; two daughters, Janice Statzer, Arlington, Texas, and Denise Bennett, Edmond, Okla.; one brother, Virgil Dean, Sand Springs, Okla.; her twin sister, Donita Eyer, Logan, Okla.; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Beaver Church of Christ in Beaver, with the David Glascock and Bobby Wheat presiding.

Burial will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver, under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.

KEVIN E. WAGONER

BEAVER, Okla. -- Kevin Eugene Wagoner, 29, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, in a motor vehicle accident.

He was born March 20, 1971, to Wayne and Carmen Wagoner.

He moved with his parents to Beaver in 1974. He graduated from Beaver High School and had worked as a derrick hand.

He was a member of the Beaver First Baptist Church.

He married the love of his life, Martha Means, March 3, 1999, in Beaver, after six years of courting. She survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Shayne Leigh Rutherford, Fort Sill, Okla., Mikel Wagoner (Estala), Jaime Montgomery Wagoner (Estala) and Jordan McKenzi Wagoner (Estala), all of Beaver; two daughters, Sheridan Leslie Rutherford, and Janene Marie Wagoner (Estala), both of Beaver; his parents of Beaver; one brother, Robbie Wagoner, Seaford, Va.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Beaver First Baptist Church in Beaver with the Rev. Don Rogers presiding.

Burial will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver.

Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.

OPAL R. ROBINSON

TYRONE, Okla. -- Opal Ruth Robinson, 56, of Tyrone, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

She was born June 28, 1943, to Henry and Rose (Moody) Spreier in Syracuse.

She grew up in and attended school in Syracuse, Turpin, Baker, Okla., and Tyrone, Okla.

She married Kennith Robinson Jan. 5, 1961, in Clayton, N.M. He survives.

They made their home in Tyrone where for nine years she ran the OK Day Care.

She was a member of the Tyrone United Methodist Church, where she lead the youth group for 12 years. She was a Sunday school teacher and served as a liturgist.

She crocheted and sewed for many high school kids and residents in the community.

Other survivors include one daughter, Treva Bradford, Dumas, Texas; three sons, Trent Robinson and wife, Trudi, Tracy Robinson and wife, Becky, and Troy Robinson and wife, Nancy, all of Tyrone; three brothers, Ralph Spreier and wife, Louise, Oklahoma City, Kenneth Spreier and wife, Joyce, Enid, Okla., and Jimmy Spreier and wife, Jane, Okeene, Okla.; five sisters, Margaret McCree, Golden, Colo., Marjorie Brown and husband, Clyde, Turpin, Okla., Arlene Hoeme and husband, Jerry, Liberal, Marlene Yarbro and husband, Ray, Bridgeport, Texas, and Georgia Spreier, Enid, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Thelma Brockleman and Carol Maxine Burton.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Tyrone United Methodist Church with the Revs. Kim Alan Domnick and Bill Prater presiding.

Burial will follow at the Tyrone Cemetery under the direction of the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Okla.

Memorials may be given to the Tyrone United Methodist Church and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.

WILLIAM E. SMITH

HOOKER, Okla. -- William E. "Bill" Smith, 80, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at North Plains Care Center in Borger, Texas.

He was born April 11, 1920, to John and Grace (Elliott) Smith in Tyrone.

He grew up and attended school in Tyrone. As a young man he farmed with his father.

He married Versia Jewel Liken Jan. 28, 1942, in Atlanta, Ga. She died April 15, 1978.

They had farmed in the Hooker-Tyrone area. In 1962, they moved into Hooker and retired in 1975.

Survivors include his son, Duane Smith and wife, Shirley, Liberal; a daughter, Janet VanNatta, Stinnett, Texas; half-brother, Johnny Paul Smith; half-sister, Lorene Goulet and husband, Joe, Henderson, N.C.; six grandchildren, Johnny and Donna Smith, Hobbs, N.M., Jackie and Lisa VanNatta, Wellston, Okla., Jerry VanNatta, Kellyville, Okla., Kimberly and Mark Dove, Houston, Texas; Janelle and Mark Castillo, Bullhead City, Ariz., and Roger Smith, Liberal; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God church in Liberal, with the Rev. Jack Wilson presiding.

Burial will be at the Tyrone Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home of Hooker.

Memorials are suggested to Guymon Home Health Care Hospice or the Crown of Texas Hospice or the charity of choice and may be left at the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.

GARY LEROY MESERVE

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Gary LeRoy Meserve, 52, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at an Oklahoma City hospital following a short illness.

He was born Jan. 21, 1948, to Chester V. and Dorothy A. (Hughes) Meserve in Hays.

He grew up in Ellis and was a graduate of Ellis High School. He attended Fort Hays State University and Kansas Newman College.

He lived for many years in Larned. In 1999, he moved to Mustang, Okla., where he was employed by the Mustang Schools in the transportation department.

He was a member of the Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia, of the home; one son, Shawn Meserve, Bethany, Okla.; one daughter, Kelli Walter and husband, Justin, Liberal; two brothers, Don Meserve, Haysville, and Greg Meserve, Ellis; and one grandchild.

Memorial services were at 10 a.m. today at the Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang.

Arrangements were under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service of Mustang.

ALVIN F. NEESE

FORGAN, Okla. -- Alvin Frances Neese, 81, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at the Beaver County Nursing Home in Beaver, Okla.

He was born May 20, 1918, to John Harland and Clarissa May (Marlow) Neese northeast of Forgan, where his family farmed.

He married Frances Arlene "Deanie" Barkley Sept. 21, 1939. She died May 21, 1986, of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

He served in the United States Army, serving in the European Theater of Operations until the end of World War II.

He owned and operated a service station in Forgan after the war. He eventually sold the station and then worked as a bus driver and monitored well production for Charles Bond. He and his wife also owned and operated the Triple A Store until their retirement.

He and his wife ran a lawn service after their retirement for family and a few friends. He enjoyed staying active and he and his wife traveled to New York, California, Washington, Florida and Cuba.

Survivors include two daughters, Faye Kramer and husband, Mike, Port Orchard, Wash., and Ann Walker and husband, Ed, Kingsland, Ga.; two grandsons, Kyle Walker and wife, Felicia, Ormond Beach, Fla., and Jason Walker and wife, Lisa, Alpharetta, Ga.; and three great-granddaughters, Madison, Melanie and Shea.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Forgan Cemetery in Forgan with Terry Fox presiding. Burial will follow at the Forgan Cemetery under the direction of Clark Funeral Service, Beaver, Okla.

JACK LEE OGLETREE

KINGFISHER, Okla. -- Jack Lee Ogletree, 75, stepfather of Liberal resident Jodie Jacobs, died Monday, May 1, 2000.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Ogletree, of the home; one son, Jack Ogletree Jr. and wife, Marilyn, Oklahoma City; two step-daughters, Shirley Childers and husband, Michael, Kismet, and Jodie Jacobs and husband, Ruben, Liberal; three grandchildren, Joanna, Jeff and Richard; two step-grandchildren, Michaela Jacobs, Mission, and Chad Childers, Wichita; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Sylva Ogletree; his first wife, Doris (Higgins) Ogletree; and a daughter, Linda Maloney.

Cremation took place. Private family burial services are planned.

Memorials are suggested to the Federated Church, Ninth and Fay St., Kingfisher, OK 73750.
