NAOMI M. CARSON

HOOKER, Okla. -- Naomi M. Carson, 81, Hooker, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born Nov. 21, 1919, to Howard and Margaret (Hunter) Boley in East Liverpool, Ohio.

She married Milford Carson June 3, 1950, in Hutchinson. He died Aug. 16, 1997.

She attended school and grew up in East Liverpool.

She and her husband lived in Hutchinson, Waverly and in East Liverpool. In the mid 1960s, they moved to Hooker.

She worked as a nurse for many years.

Survivors include one son, John Blankenship, East Liverpool; one sister, Waweta P. Boley, East Liverpool; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, John Boley; and two sisters, Wanda Hickman and Mary Miller.

Graveside services were at 1 p.m. today at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker with Mr. Roy H. Smothermon presiding.

Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker was in charge of arrangements.

ROBERT W. ANGLETON

ENID, Okla. -- Robert W. "Corky" Angleton, 63, Enid, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid.

He was born Sept. 24, 1937, to Robert C. and Bernice (McClaflin) Angleton in Forgan, Okla.

He graduated from Forgan High School in 1955 and joined the Air Force. He served in Korea.

He moved from Liberal to Enid in 1965 and worked for various oil companies before founding Angleton Tool Company in 1976.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene, of the home; three sons, Ricky Wallace Angleton and wife, Carolynne, Allen, Texas, Lynn Angleton and wife, Allison, and Russell Angleton and wife, Penny, all of Enid; one brother, Steve Angleton, Reno, Nev.; and six grandchildren, Nicholas, Lexi, Connor, Emily, Kaleigh and Alex.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel in Enid with the Rev. Don Tines presiding.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid.

Memorials are suggested to Oklahoma Medical Research Cancer Division in care of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, P.O. Box 3501, Enid, OK 73702.

RUTH L. PEERY

HOOKER, Okla. ­ Ruth Louise Peery, 81, Hooker, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

She was born Aug. 8, 1920, to John and Katherine (Smith) Chambers in Butler, Penn.

She attended school in Butler and graduated from Butler High School.

She entered the United States Army following her graduation from high school, and served in

Florida during World War II. While in the service, she met her future husband, who was also serving in the Army.

She married Amos H.R. Peery Dec. 17, 1945, in Liberal. He died July 25, 1975.

She and her husband made their first home together in Hardesty, Okla. They later moved to Hooker.

Her hobbies included crocheting and cooking.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hooker.

Survivors include two sons, Pat and Mike Peery, both of Hooker; two brothers, Perry Chambers, Denver, Ind., and Howard Knox, Pittsburgh, Penn.; one grandson, Patrick Joe Peery, Liberal; and one step-granddaughter, Angie Walden, Liberal.

Graveside services will be a 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, with Brother Ron Mimms presiding.

Services will be under the direction of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.

DENZIL R. WILMOTH

BEAVER, Okla. -- Denzil Reese Wilmoth, 86, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at the Beaver County Memorial Hospital in Beaver, Okla.

He was born Sept. 22, 1914, to Henry Mack and Laura May (Gregory) Wilmoth in Beaver County, Okla.

He graduated from high school and attended two years of college.

He married Helen Louise Bolack Oct. 13, 1935, in Dexter. She preceded him in death.

He was a retired grocer.

He was a charter member of the Beaver Rotary Club and the senior citizens.

He was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Delbert Wilmoth, Golden, Mo., and Stephen Wilmoth, Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Donna West, Midland, Texas; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Beaver United Methodist Church in Beaver, with John Breon presiding.

Burial will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver.

Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.

LELAND SCOTT

BAKER, Okla. -- Leland Scott, 97, Baker, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, from injuries sustained in an auto accident west of Baker.

He was born July 18, 1904, to Walter and Maggie (Christy) Scott in Floyd, Texas.

He moved with his parents three miles east of Baker.

He attended Center School and one year in Liberal. He attended mechanic school in Hutchinson.

He married Bernice Harter Aug. 10, 1924. She died in 1982.

He married Elsie Parker in 1985, in Guymon, Okla. She died in 1993.

He was a member of the Baker United Methodist Church in Baker.

He served on the Eureka School Board for 24 years.

He farmed in Texas County all of his adult life and continued to farm with the help of his youngest son. In 1940, he established, and operated for many years, the Baker Machine Shop and filling station.

Survivors include three sons, Walter Scott and wife, Heidi, Galena, Ill., Robert Lee Scott and wife, Lavona, Catoosa, Okla., and L.J. Scott and wife, Cindy, Hooker, Okla.; five daughters, Ethel Mae Abel, Baker, Roberta Cantwell and husband, Jerry, Turpin, Okla., Thelma Jean Lambert and husband, Duane, Kismet, Thelda Dean Baker and husband Everett, Liberal, and Nancy Mendenhall and husband, Paul, Baker; one brother, Ezra and wife, Billie, Turpin; one step-daughter, Carol Batterman, Guymon; one sister-in-law, Georgia Scott, Liberal; 25 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Glendon and Elmo Scott; two sisters, Dorothy Deaver and Penise Bookless; two son-in-laws, Ralph Abel and Warren Headrick; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Baker, with the Rev. Stanley Lehnert, assisted by the Rev. Dianna Izquierdo, presiding.

Burial will follow at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, Okla., under the direction of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.

The family requests memorials to the Baker United Methodist Church. Memorials may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, 207 N. Swem, P.O. Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.

ARLEN L. COMER

CALUMET, Okla. -- Arlen Lee Comer, 68, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2002, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.

He was born Feb. 1, 1933 to Alfred Joseph and Violet Leah (Gillespie) Comer in Fay, Okla.

He married Shirley West Dec. 22, 1956, in Erie. She survives.

He was raised in Fay and graduated from Fay High School. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor of science degree.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

He was a retired school teacher, having taught the fifth grade for eight years in Bosworth, Mo., and 27 years in Missouri Valley, Iowa. He was listed in Who's Who among American teachers.

He moved to the Calumet area in 1996.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Missouri Valley, and attended the Red Rock United Methodist Church in Calumet.

His hobbies included fishing and hunting.

Other survivors include two sons, Ronald E. Comer and wife, Lisa, Calumet, and Clay A. Comer, Oxnard, Calif.; two daughters, Susan Christine Butts and husband, Erling, Oxnard, and Julie Ann Burbridge and husband, Michael, Norman, Okla.; one brother, Wayne Comer, Moscow; one brother-in-law, Don Hill, Liberal; two sisters-in-law, Helen Comer, Fay, and Avelyn Comer, Indianapolis, Ind.; 11 grandchildren, Lea Comer, Clay Allen Comer, Katie Tye, David Comer, Robert Comer, Asia Burbridge, Corey Comer, Casey Comer, Kayli Burbridge, and Lindsey Burbridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold Comer, and Rev. A. Vance Comer; four sisters, Mildred Lallement, Ruth Vickers, Evelyn Morris, and Bonnie Hill; and one granddaughter, Marie Alayne Comer.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at the First Baptist Church in Hinton, Okla., with the Rev. David Bates presiding.

Burial was at the Buena Vista Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorials are suggested to the Marie Comer Memorial Fund in care of Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1010, El Reno, OK 73036.
