Therman Howard Richardson

Age 87, Snyder - Services will be at 2:30 pm Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Snyder with Rev. Jeff Flowers, Pastor officiating.

Mr. Richardson died Monday in a Lawton hospital.

Burial with Military Honors will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home of Snyder.

Therman was born April 17, 1919 in Boyd, Texas to Thad Jim and Clara (Nunnally) Richardson. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on January 9, 1942, 32 days after Pearl Harbor. He was a member of the First Platoon, E Company, 47th Infantry Ninth Division. He was one of the first American soldiers captured as a prisoner of war at El Gueter, Tunisia in March of 1943. He was taken to a German field hospital and then moved to a P.O. W. camp in East Prussia in September of 1943. He was involved in the infamous 300 mile “Black March”. He was liberated from a P.O.W. Camp on April 28, 1945 by the Russian Army, East of the Elbe River. He was discharged from the Army in July of 1945, and he received the Purple Heart. Therman was a Farmer in the Snyder area and was an Ordained Baptist Minister serving in numerous places until his retirement. He was a Member of the First Baptist Church in Snyder.

Survivors include his four children, Paul Richardson and his wife Denise of Duncan, OK, Harley Richardson and his wife Dee of Snyder, OK, Alan Richardson of Dallas, TX and Arvilla Richardson of Hawaii. Six grandchildren, Brooke Richardson of Duncan, OK, Jed Richardson of Duncan, OK, Lu Gene Eyerman and her husband Brian of Oklahoma City, OK, Jenny Richardson of Snyder, OK, Rusty Richardson of Snyder, OK and Haley Richardson of Austin, TX. He is also survived by two nephews, Vernon Richardson of Snyder, OK, Eddie Richardson of Wichita Falls, TX and a niece Sue Naylor of Monkey Island, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Barton and B.V. Richardson.

Barbara A. Kelley

Age 71, Geronimo - Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Kelley died Thursday in Tuttle, Oklahoma.

Burial is under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.

She was born January 11, 1936 in Amarillo, Texas, to John and Lucille Overstreet Rape’. She had lived in Geronimo most of her life and had been employed at the Fort Sill laundry. She was married to Calvin Kelley who preceded her in death and was a member of Cameron Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Charles and Barbara Kelley, Oklahoma City; a grandson, Shawn Tillison.

Patricia Ann “Pat” Holmes

Age 79, Lawton - Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Marvin F. Leven, officiating.

Mrs. Holmes died Friday in Lawton.

Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel.

She was born January 16, 1928 in Muskogee to Rupert Karr and Gladys Vivian McGonigal Hinds. She grew up in Muskogee and was a 1945 graduate of Central High School and later attended Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah. She married Douglas Martell Holmes on December 28, 1948 in Muskogee. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1981.

She had lived in the Tulsa area for several years and had been employed by Gulf Oil Company. She moved to Lawton in 1972 and worked for Civil Service at Fort Sill until her retirement in 1992.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she was active in the Ladies Guild.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Doug Holmes, Lawton, Karen and David Torbert, Lawton, and Cheryl and Terry Zimmerman, Lawton; five grandchildren, Stephen Torbert, Stillwater, Kyle Torbert, Oklahoma City, Wesley Zimmerman, Norman, Oklahoma, and Brent and Elizabeth Zimmerman, both of Lawton; a sister, Melba Walker, Tulsa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church, 1010 NW 82nd Street, Lawton OK 73505.

Ilse Adamczyk

Age 45, Lawton - Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mr. Herman Lawrence, deacon at Holy Family Catholic Church officiating.

Ms. Adamczyk died Tuesday.

She was born July 3, 1962 at Fort Sill to Stanislaus and Ilse J. (Schafer) Adamczyk, Jr.. Ilse attended the Robert E. Greiner School for the Handicapped.

Survivors include her parents, of the home, a brother, Michael Adamczyk and his wife Beth, Phoenix, Arizona, two sisters, Dorothy Adams and her husband Paul, Meers and Mary Adamczyk, Lawton, four nieces, Christina, Janell, Trista and Juliane and two nephews, Nicholas and Brandon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert E. Greiner School for the Handicapped, 10 S.E. B Ave., Lawton, OK 73501.

Gary Lynn Helton

Age 45, Lawton - Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Mike Bentley, Weldon Flanagan and Rev. James Roberts, officiating.

Mr. Helton died Thursday, October 4, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was born January 7, 1962 in Lawton to Joseph and Vallene Helton. He grew up in Lawton. He had worked for Cagle’s, the Big Giant, Home Décor, Dillard’s and Red River Savings and Loan in Lawton. He had worked for Associates Finance in Farmington, New Mexico and had worked for the past 15 years with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Lawton.

He married Lesley Lynn Young on September 2, 1988 in Lawton. He was a member of the University Church of Christ. He had been a member of the Lawton Jaycee’s in the 1980’s and was active in PTA, Booster Club as well as Brownies and Cub Scouts while his children were growing up.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; a daughter, Aubrey Helton, of the home; a son and daughter in law, Clayton and Julie Helton, Lawton; his parents, Joe and Vallene Helton, Lawton; his father in law and mother in law, Leon and Julia Young, Gadsden, Alabama; his grandmother in law, Jeanette Williamson, Gadsden, Alabama; a brother, Sam Helton, Lawton; five sisters and brothers in law, JoAnn and Glen Alford, Lawton, Mary Zimmerman, Lawton, Nancy and Larry Barton, Lawton, LaDonna and Larry Waterman, Treasure Island, Florida, and Pam and George Fisher, Chattanooga, Oklahoma; a brother in law and sister in law, Paul and Torrie Young, Lawton; numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.

Linda Richardson

Age 59, Lawton - Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at University Church of Christ with Mike Bentley, minister officiating.

Miss Richardson died Tuesday in a local hospital.

Burial will be at 4:00 PM Thursday at Salt Creek Cemetery, Henryetta, Oklahoma under the direction of Becker Funeral Home.

She was born March 7, 1948 in Richmond, California to Harry K. and Ruby (Jackson) Richardson. Miss Richardson attended the Robert E. Greiner School for the Handicapped.

Survivors include her father, and two brothers, Kenneth Richardson and James Richardson, all of the home.

She is preceded in death by her mother.

Wilmoth R. Shelton

Age 84, former Lawton resident, Services will be 10:00 am Monday, August 30, 2004 in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tom Willoughby, Associate Pastor, First Baptist Church, officiating.

Mrs. Shelton died Monday in Apple Valley, California.

Burial will be in the Post Cemetery, Fort Sill.

She was born July 23, 1920 in Memphis, Tennessee, to Heber G. and Addie Leigh Reid. She grew up in Memphis and graduated high school there. She was married to LTC (Retired) Fred T. Shelton, Jr. on December 25, 1936 at Marion, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and followed her husband in his military career. She was a longtime Lawton resident and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter and son in law, Ladye Jan and Pat Blair, Helendale, California; two granddaughters, Beth Ann Gerber and husband Cameron and Mara Lee Paul and husband Eddie; two great granddaughters, Blair Paul and Maya Gerber; two great grandsons, Logan D. Paul and Tighe Gerber; a sister, Thelma Jones, Memphis, Tennessee.

A son, Fred T. Shelton, IV, and a sister, Tuttie Parker, preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 501 SW B Avenue, Lawton Ok 73501.

Harold Wayne Taylor

Age 72, Lawton, Services will be at 1:30 PM Friday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Irv Johnson, Chaplain, Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma officiating.

Mr. Taylor died Tuesday in a local care center.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Becker Funeral Home.

He was born June 18, 1932 east of Lawton to Homer and Ava Taylor. He graduated from Central High School, west of Marlow in 1951. He started work for Ansley Paper Co. in 1951. He worked for Fairmont and Meads Bakery as route salesman. In 1959 he purchased his own Frito Lay truck and was the only route salesman in the Lawton/Fort Sill area. He retired after 32 years. His hobbies were fishing and golfing. He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball.

Survivors include his wife; Ann, of the home, a son and daughter-in-law; Rick and Denise Taylor, Cement, a daughter; Lisa Glover, Lawton, a step-son, Kyle Sutton, Geronimo, a step-daughter Kristi Sutton, New York City, New York, two sisters; Janette Chasteen, Duncan, and Reba Gray and her husband Paul, Duncan, a brother; Homer Taylor and his wife Lucille, Lawton, a sister-in-law; Nancy Perrin and her husband Don, Snyder, four grandchildren; Michelle Taylor, Tanya Casbeek, Kami Taylor, and Jarrod Glover, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Nora Davis, and a brother-in-law; Keith Chasteen.

Marie I. Kraft

Age 92, Lawton - Funeral services for Marie I. Kraft will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Philip Seeton, pastor celebrating the funeral mass in honor of her life.

Mrs. Kraft succumbed to a stroke on Thursday, January 20, 2005 in Lawton.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home.

A devoted wife and mother, she was born on October 20, 1912 in Brooklyn, NY to Mary and John Banks. She married Quincy J. Kraft July 22, 1935 in Ossining, NY. They resided in Bridgeport, Hartford, West Haven, Hamden and New Haven, CT and Merrick, NY during his career in sales. Upon his retirement in 1978 they moved to Florida making their home briefly in Port Saint Lucie and the Indian Harbour Beach. They came to Lawton in 1996.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years of the home, three sons and two daughters-in-law: Major (Ret) Donald and Terrie Kraft, Lawton, Gerard P. and Ann Kraft, Rochester Hills, MI, and Robert L. Kraft, Wilmington, DE, six grandchildren and five spouses; Mark Kraft, Stephanie Meaders and Daniel M. Schwartz, and Donald C. and Veronica Kraft, Lawton, Matthew and Julie Kraft, Overland Park, KS, Susan and Robert Sunseri, Glendale, AZ, and Glenn and Andrea Kraft, Mesa, AZ; ten great grandchildren; Kellan, Juliana, Mathew, and Tannon Meaders, Lawton, Brian, Meagan, and Amanda Kraft, Overland Park, and Rose, John, and Hope Sunseri, Glendale, and special godchild; Mrs. Joan Walter, Holbrook NY.

She was the eldest of her generation being preceded in death by her parents and four sisters; Mrs. Josephine Atwood, Mrs. Catharine McElroy, Mrs. Elizabeth Dick, and Ms Helen Banks, all of Long Island, NY.
