Troy A. Billings

Funeral services for Troy A. Billings will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, Jan 24, 2013 at the Dolberg Baptist Church with Rev Wayne Edgar officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dolberg Cemetery.

Troy was born Mar 30, 1927 at Oak Grove to the late Carl & Lillie (Roberson) Billings.

He died Sunday, Jan 20, 2013 in Sulphur, at the age of 85 years 9 months & 20 days.

Troy & Mary Ellen Hembree were married on Dec 4, 1952.

Troy grew up in the Oak Grove/Prairie View area.

Throughout his working years, he drove a truck for several area farmers and businesses including, Powell’s Dairy, Brown’s Feed Store, Carpenter’s Egg Plant & Mayhard Egg Farms.

Troy was a hard-working man.

Although he thought of work as an enjoyment, he also found joy in riding horses.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Harris & husband Billy of Wynnewood; two grandchildren, Zach Chandler & wife Sandi and Luisa Tolliver & husband Kidd, all of Roff; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; ex-wife, Mary Ellen of Sulphur; as well as three siblings, Dale Billings, Helen Baker and Judy Lemmings, all of Sulphur.

Troy was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Ann Billings; one sister, Faye Dixon and two brothers, James and Cleo Billings.

Stella J. Black

Funeral services for Stella J. Black will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, Nov 13, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church of Davis with Pastor Dave Jenkins and Brother Thomas Thompson officiating.

Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Stella was born July 28, 1932 in Grandfield, OK, to the late Aubrey O. & Maggie Mae (O’Brien) Landrum. She died Saturday, Nov 10, 2012 in Davis, at the age of 80 years 3 months and 12 days. Stella and Tommie Neal Black were married on Aug 21, 1948 in Lawton, OK.

He preceded her in death on Nov 2, 1996.

Others preceding her in death include six brothers and two sisters.

Stella spent 20 plus years working as a secretary for the Davis Public School System.

Most recently, Stella worked as an office assistant at the Davis Chamber of Commerce and as a voting inspector for the Murray County Election Board. In earlier years, she worked as a dispatcher for the Davis Police Dept., as well as, served as a Reserve deputy for the Murray County Sheriff’s Dept.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Davis, Beta Sigma Phi, OHCE, and United Methodist Women.

In her leisure time, Stella enjoyed traveling, especially to Colorado, playing cards with her friends and working with arts & crafts.

Stella was a “get it done” type person. Although she was small in stature, she had an immeasurable spirit and heart.

She loved the town of Davis; its people, school and businesses.

Stella had a “can do” attitude that in turn made Davis a better place to live and work.

Her position with the chamber fit her to a 'T'.

She worked hard promoting the town and businesses.

No matter what event was being held, Stella was there leading the cause.

She became known as the “Voice of the Chamber” which was truly appropriate.

While working for the school, Stella touched hundreds of young lives with her compassion and care for students.

She was not only a secretary; she was a friend and role model for the students.

Stella Black will truly be missed by this community.

Survivors include her daughter, Sue Sanders & husband Larry of Craig, CO; son, Mark Black & wife Jill of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, Jeremy Sanders & wife Carlene of Craig, CO, Sarah Peed & husband Brett of Steamboat Springs, CO, Chelsea Beauclair & husband Daniel of Great Falls, MT, Taylor Black of Trinidad, TX, Brandi Brace of Oklahoma City and Steven Brace & wife Alexis of Duncan, OK; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; as well as two brothers, Aubrey O. Landrum, Jr. & wife Karen of Seely, TX and Cleo “Danny” Landrum & wife Agnes of Jacksonville, FL.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Lynn, Larry & Ben Landrum, Steven Brace, Mike Lee and John Lewis.

Honorary bearers will be Norman Lewis, Gene Hester, Edgar Lee, Jerry Paul Pullen, Randy Moore and Dub Moore.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Davis UMW group.

Brandi Mae Woodruff Harris

Services for Brandi Mae Woodruff Harris, 30, Ardmore will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Craddock Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bill Woodruff officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Born Oct. 3, 1972, to Bill Woodruff and Judy Rutledge in Ardmore, she died Aug. 8, 2003, in Ardmore.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Howard L. Woodruff, and an aunt, Rita Beavers.

Brandi was a lifelong resident of this area.

She attended Madill schools for nine years, graduating from Ringling High School in 1991 and was active in 4-H.

Survivors includes her sons, Evan and Arran Harris, both of the home, Derek Grant, Ringling; her mother, Judy Salley, and her husband, Richard, Ardmore; her father, Bill Woodruff, and his wife, Deanne, Bowie, Texas; grandparents, Jean Woodruff, Ardmore, Ed and Wanda Rutledge, Ardmore; three brothers, Tim Woodruff, Colorado, Eddie Hill, Ardmore, and Dom Robardey, Bowie; a sister, Brittany Wooten, Bowie; two aunts, Midge Deere, Ardmore, and Rebecca Scott, Norman; three uncles, Jim Woodruff, Healdton, Stephan Woodruff, Ardmore, and Howard L. Woodruff, Norman; cousins, Barney and Luke Beavers, Ardmore, Donna Elliott, Arlington, Texas, Jody Deere, John Howard and Kristi Deere, all of Ardmore, Stefanie Ross and Rebecca Woodruff, both of Louisiana, Teresa Lucas, Wilson, Jamie Woodruff, Healdton, and Kimberly Drain, New Zealand, and her fiancé, Joey Brown, Ardmore.

Bearers will be Dean Earhart, Sammy Walling, Jeremy Shorter, Rick Knight, Joe Carroll, Mike Turner, Mickey Repp.

Alice Faye Carpenter George

Services for Alice Faye Carpenter George, 92, Ardmore, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Craddock Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Donny Custar officiating. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.

Born May 17, 1911, to George Thomas and Minnie Hill Green in Chattanooga, Okla., she died July 8, 2003, at a local health-care facility.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, R.E. Carpenter and E.E. George, and two daughters, Helen Payne and Betty Hughes.

She was the youngest of 10 children.

She lived most of her life in Ardmore and Riverside, Calif., and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Howell, and her husband, Boyd, Ardmore; eight grandchildren, Richard, Gary and David Payne, Karen Rychlik, Steve Hughes, Teri Clinton, Cindy Smith, Craig Howell; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be her grandsons.

Clayton Brooks and Martha Van Doren Brooks

Memorial services for Clayton Brooks and his wife, Martha Van Doren Brooks, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Craddock Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Rick Mills and their son Richard Brooks presenting the eulogy.

Clayton and Martha were married in December of 1955 in Texas City, Texas. They had been residents of Ardmore the past 44 years, moving here from Corpus Christi, Texas.

Clayton Brooks passed away on June 24, 2003, following an auto accident in Ardmore, Okla., at the age of 88 years.

He was born into this life on March 2, 1915, in Tyrone, N.M., to Jeptha Clayton and Phillis Grenfell Brooks.

Clayton was raised in Silver City, N.M.

He was a refinery inspector for Universal Oil Products before he retired in 1977.

He was a member of the Goddard Center and the New Mexico Cavalry.

Martha Van Doren Brooks passed away on June 25, 2003, at an Oklahoma City hospital following an auto accident in Ardmore, Okla.

She was born Aug. 30, 1922, in Chicago to Frank E. and Grace Gay Van Doren. She was a chemical analyst for Monsanto Chemicals.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and also a World War II veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

Clayton is survived by three daughters, Sue Pierce, Atlanta, Nanci Jones, Edmond and Barbara Brooks Lotz, Arlington, Texas; two sons, Phillip Brooks, Houston, and Richard Brooks, Indiantown, Fla.; five sisters, Margaret Morgan, New Caney, Texas, Irene Alexander, Houston, Rae Richardson, Albuquerque, N.M., Shirley Allen, Campbellsville, Ky., and Gloria Shelton, Rosenberg, Texas.

Martha is survived by two daughters, Nanci Jones and Barbara; a stepdaughter, Sue Pierce and Clayton's two sons, Richard and Phillip.

They have 11 grandchildren, Kenneth Brooks, Jim Pierce, Kevin Brooks, Robin Pierce, Andrea Brooks, Leslie Pierce, Douglas Brooks, David Brooks, Allison Lotz, Monica Lotz and Lauren Jones, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Preceding Clayton and Martha in death are two daughters, Janice Naylor and Jeannie Murphy; two grandsons, Christopher Jones and Darren Brooks. Also preceding Clayton were his brothers, Louis, Ross and Jay, and a sister, Evelyn McCurry.

Memorials for Clayton can be made to the Goddard Center in Ardmore, and memorials for Martha can be sent to the Children's Home and Aid Society, 125 S. Wacker Drive, 14th Floor, Chicago, IL 60606

Betty Jane Hewitt Ham

Betty Jane Hewitt Ham was born May 2, 1926 at Henryetta, Ok to Pearl Hewitt & Willie Lee Harris.

She passed from this life on October 26, 2003 in Ardmore at the age of 77.

She graduated from Bowlegs High School, was a charter member of the Calvary Christian Fellowship and a resident at Southbrook.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Ham of Branson, Mo; sons, Jody Ham & wife Gayla of Ardmore Gene Ham and wife Sharon of Newcastle, OK; sister, Augusta Johnston of Milo; grandchildren, Jacob Ham, Jordan Ham, Jeremy Ham, Joshua Ham, Brandi & Chad Simpson, Stacy Kirchoff, Corey and Melissa Fore; great grandchildren Cy, Gage & Reed Simpson and Brandie Fore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Charles, Howard, Jim, Jack.

Graveside services are Tuesday, October 28, 2003 10:00 AM Hennepin Cemetery with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating.

Aletha Jean Paschall

Aletha Jean Paschall was born August 28, 1919 at Ravia to Clem Kuykendall & Fleeta Caperton.

She passed from this life on December 25, 2003 in the local hospital at the age of 84.

She and J.D. Paschall were married March 29, 1942 at Denison, Texas.

He preceded her in death March 10, 1998.

She lived in this area since 1952, was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ardmore.

She is survived by: Daughter & son-in-law Jadean & Ken Fackrell of Garland, TX; Son & daughter-in-law: Retired MSGT. James David & Pennee Paschall of Panama City, Fl Sister: Ruth Moore of Ravia 6 Grandchildren, 5 Great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents, husband J.D., Daughters: Linda Jean Paschall, Rebecca Ann Madewell and 4 brothers and sisters.

Judith Dell Keith

Place of Service: Graveside Service Hillcrest Memorial Park

Cemetery: Hillcrest Memorial Park

Graveside rites for Judith Dell Keith 75, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Harris officiating.

Born Dec. 13, 1928, in Ardmore to Nathaniel and Ova Irene Haynes, she died Oct. 13, 2004, at a local nursing home. She married Doyle D. Keith Aug. 6, 1977 at Ardmore. He preceded her in death June 8, 2003.

She graduated from Ardmore High School. Mrs. Keith retired from Daube Store where she had worked as an accountant for many years.

She was a member of the Christian Science Church.

Survivors include sons, Ronald L. Keith, Fayetteville, Ark., Robert D. Keith, San Diego, Calif.; a cousin, David Lester, California; and three grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
