NOVELLA THOMAS

Novella Thomas, 84, peacefully died Saturday, August 17, 2002. She was born in Boynton, Ok. January 29, 1918 to Ola and Joe Jacobs.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Adcock and husband Jim, Cynthia Hoffman and husband Ron and Joanna Brown; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband C.B. Thomas, parents, five brothers and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21 at Moore's Eastlawn Chapel with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Eastlawn of Tulsa.

ROBERT G. TUCKER

Robert Glenn Tucker,88, a resident of Henryetta died Aug. 18, 2002 in Okmulgee. He was born November 4, 1913 in Canadian, Ok to J.R. and Edna (Brown) Tucker, the 2nd child in a family of 11.

He loved music and led music at a church, worked for the WPA program during the depression and farmed. He worked at the war plant and then on to Eagle Pitcher Smelter in Henryetta until it closed in 1968. He moved to the Wilson community in 1946 and worked for the county and then as a custodian at the First Baptist Church. He married Belva Farrill on September 4, 1933 in Haskell County and would have been married 69 years this Sept 4. Preceded in death by his parents, two children Edna Marie and Patrick. A grandchildren Travis Shurman Jones and two sisters; Inez Tucker and Irene Godfrey.

Survivors include his wife, Belva Tucker of the home; six children, Jerlene (Jerri) Miller and husband Ray of Henryetta, Ray Tucker and wife Darla of Jenks, John Tucker of Houston, Jim Tucker and wife Beverly of New Braunfels, Texas, Louise Jones and husband Carl of Edmond and Monte Tucker of Houston; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, four sisters and four brothers.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 21 at the Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Vance, officiating. Burial will be 2:00 p.m., at the Mountain Home Cemetery in Haskell County under direction of the Rogers Funeral Home of Henryetta.

Pallbearers will be Gerry Miller, Jay Jones, Scott Tucker, Aaron Jones, Joe Cox, Michael Tucker, George Lees, Jere Tucker and Roger Acebo.

GEORGE STINNETT

George "Pat" Stinnett a Henryetta resident died on Aug 18, 2002 at the age of 71. He was born February 24, 1931 in Maryville, Tenn. to Dexter and Henryetta (Bolinger) Stinnett.

He worked as a motel manager and was an avid bowler. He married Anita Norris on Feb 24, 1961 in Seminole Oklahoma. His parents and a brother Ronald Stinnett preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Anita Stinnett of the home; a son: Patrick and wife Mellisa Stinnett of Ft. Smith, Ark. daughters, Lora Stinnett of Tulsa, Anna and husband Bill Welsh of the home; five grandchildren, a brother, Bill Stinnett of Maryville, Tenn.; sister-in-law: Carol Stinnett of VanWerth, Ohio and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21 at the Westlawn Cemetery with Rev. Tim Beam officiating, Services conducted by the Rogers Funeral Home.

MILDRED MOORE

Mildred K. Moore, 69, of Henryetta died Aug. 18, 2002 at Henryetta. She was born Nov. 14, 1932 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Bessie VanBrunt Simpson and Isaac Simpson.

She was married to James Edward Moore in Henryetta, on March 21, 1976. She was a housewife and served an the Okmulgee County Election Board for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jasper Simpson, and a sister, Erma Biggers.

Mildred is survived by her husband, James Moore of Henryetta; one daughter, Faye Milligan-Bull & husband David, Irving, Texas; one son, Jacque Moore, Bixby, stepson. Jim Wesson & wife Mary, Medford, Oklahoma; sister, Dora Kenyon, Norman; sister, Opal Burgess, Norrnan; sister, Dozena Elmore & husband Perry of Henryetta and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 21, at 10.00 a.m. at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta officiated by Dr. Audie Swinney. Services are under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta.

STEPHEN MINYARD

Stephen Minyard, 41, of Henryetta died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002. He was born Aug. 9, 1961 at Dallas and lived there until two years ago when he moved to Henryetta.

He was a cook at Nelsons Restaurant. He loved to play golf and cook and enjoyed ranching and farming.

Survivors include a son, Allan Minyard of Rhome, Texas; a step-daughter, Jessica Schuler of Rhome, his mother, Jerri Minyard of San Antonio; two sisters,, Stephanie Minyard Rogers of Henryetta and Michelle Haas of Arlington, Texas; two nephews; his grandmother, Jeraldine Stubbs of Henryetta and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Minyard on May 19, 2000.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug, 21 at Salem Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Terry Pittman officiating. Burial wil be at Sonora Cemetery under direction of the Robert Simons Funeral Home. Casketbearers will be John Minyard, Mark Allen, Terry Minyard, Lindy Allen, Dick Stubbs and Curry Blankenship.

MIKE PEELER

Mike Peeler, 48, a resident of Okmulgee, died on Monday, August 19, 2002 in Okmulgee. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2002 in the Kelley Chapel with the Dr. Tommy Murray officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

He was born on Monday, January 18, 1954 to Jack and Dolores (Eckfeldt) Peeler in Okmulgee, OK. Mr. Peeler worked in construction as a backhoe and dump truck operator. He was a member of the Okmulgee Elks Lodge and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. He was also the owner of Peeler's American Bulldog Kennel.

Survivors include his parents, Jack and Dolores Peeler of Okmulgee; daughter, Amy Peeler of Okmulgee; brother, Nick Peeler and wife, Linda of Morris; sister, Vicki Mitchell of Edmond; and two nieces.

Pallbearers for the service are Jeff Montgomery, Jerry Stanley, Steve Taylor, Mike Creason, Tom Gale, Marshall King, Steve Presser and Dale Ginrich.

LUTHER ADKINS

Luther Adkins, 80, former Okmulgee resident, died Aug. 20, 2002 in Tulsa. He as a retired construction worker.

Wake services will be at 7 p.m., Friday at Jack's Memory Chapel in Tulsa.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m, Saturday at Cleaves Memorial CME Church, 806 East Smith, in Okmulgee.

Irldean "Baby Sis" Hill

Irldean "Baby Sis" Hill, 54, former resident of Okmulgee, died Wednesday, August 28, 2002 in Conway, Arkansas. She was born January 10, 1948 in Muskogee, Ok to Dorothy and the late LeRoy Thomas.

She married Joe M. Hill in 1962 and to this union two daughters were born. Irldean "Baby Sis" was raised and educated in Conway, Ark.

Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her father, a son, and one sister.

Survivors include two daughters: Lisa Hill and Rhonda Hill-Jones of Little Rock, AR, her mother Dorothy Jackson of Conway, Ark, paternal grandmother Ira Wise of Spencer, Ok, two brothers: Ralph and Eric Jackson both of Conway, AR, three sisters: Thedorice "Peaches" Thompson of Okmulgee, OK, Sonya Haynes of Conway, and Tonya Brockman of Little Rock, AR. There are also three grand-daughters, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, September 5th, 2002, at the Mount Sinai C.O.G.I.C. in Conway, Ark. with Elder Earnest L. Sweat officiating. Interment will follow in the Robinson Cemetery in Conway, Ark.

GEORGE BUNNY JR.

George Bunny Jr., 73, a resident of Oklahoma City, died September 2, 2002 in Oklahoma City. He was born July 19, 1929 in Dustin, OK to Sallie Benson Bunny and George Bunny Sr.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Bunny Sr. in 1929, Mother Sallie Benson Bunny in 1960, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

He is survived by his brother, Newman Bunny of Bristow, a sister, Lorene Bunny Baker, Stillwater, and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Wake services will be held at the Thlewarle Indian Baptist Church on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 5, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Thlewarle Indian Baptist Church south of Henryetta. Burial will follow at the Thlewarle Church Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.

IDA BELLE ALBERT

Ida Belle Albert, 71, died Tuesday, September 3, 2002 in Okmulgee. She was born November 1, 1930 was a resident of Okmulgee.

Services are pending with the Shurden Funeral Home.

Robert Hankins

Robert F. "Bob" Hankins, Okmulgee, died Wednesday morning, September 11, 2002 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital at the age of 72. He was born May 16, 1930 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Louie E. and Minnie Ola (Clay) Hankins.

He married Betty Shackleford on November 12, 1949 in Carnegie. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and had attended Central State College in Edmond. He had lived in New Mexico, California and then Okmulgee, and had been a self-employed as a carpenter. Mr. Hankins was a member of the Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge, Elk's Lodge and the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betty Hankins, of the home, a daughter, Donna Conway of Okmulgee, a son, Steve Hankins and wife Jayme of Okmulgee, two brothers, Ralph Hankins and wife Nadina of Oklahoma City and Troy Hankins and wife Donna of Marysville, California, two sisters, Rita Horn and husband Roy of Broken Arrow and Nelta Robinson of Austin, Texas, and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 13, 2002 at the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters funeral Home of Okmulgee.

JOSEPH BAUGHMAN

Joseph R. Baughman, 87, a resident of Henryetta died Sept. 10, 2002 at Henryetta. He was born August 6, 1915 in Hempfield, Township, Pennsylvania to Carrie Baughman and Phillip W. Baughman.

He was married to Sarah J. (Baird) Baughman on September 2, 1939. From Madison, PA. Joseph moved to Okmulgee in 1950 and moved to Brush Hill, Checotah in 1965. He was preceded in death by wife: Sarah J. Baughman in 1992, his parents, and two brothers, Buddy and Gordon Baughman,

Survivors include his son, Gary Baughman and wife llene, Eufaula; sons, Randy Baughman and wife Margaret of Schulter and Dennis Baughman and wife Pat of Porter, Texas; sisters, Lucille Kayler, Greensburg, PA. Kay Bomback, Greensburg, PA; Sally Abate, Horminie, PA.; Anna Lou and Lois; a brother, Ronnie Baughman, Latrobe, PA; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Baughman, Gary L. Baughman, Troy Baughman, Jerry Baughman, Jody Baughman. and Ronald Headrick.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Okmulgee Cemetery officiated by Rev. George Christy under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
