Alice V. Beasley

Central Point, Ore., resident Alice V. Beasley died Sunday in Medford, Ore. She was 93.

Mrs. Beasley was born Oct. 12, 1906, in Hartshorne to William Ashley and Hazzlet Abel. She married Hal Beasley on Aug. 14, 1928, in Wilburton.

She grew up in the Wilburton area and had also lived in California and Oklahoma, before recently moving to Oregon. She was a homemaker and member of the Assembly of God.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Bob Littlejohn, Central Point, Ore.; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Gena Beasley, Shawnee; David and Eileen Beasley, Tulsa; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on Feb. 18, 1996; one sister, Dovie McCool; and one brother, William Abel.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Pastor Carol Hopper officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery.

Thelma Virginia Tingley-Rushing

Former Shawnee resident Thelma Virginia Tingley-Rushing died Monday in Portland, Ore. She was 86.

Mrs. Rushing was born on May 28, 1913, in Seminole.

She married George Elmer Tingley. She lived in Shawnee until 1981, when she moved to Portland.

Survivors include three sons, George Tingley, Portland, Ore.; Happy Tingley, Shawnee; Virgil Tingley, Rose Hill, Kan.; daughter Lily Rose Tingley, Enid; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics organization.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee, under the direction of Little Chapel of the Chimes, Portland, Ore.

Pearl Lenore Alexander

Pearl Lenore Alexander, Ringgold, Texas, died Monday in Grand Prairie, Texas. She was 81.

Mrs. Alexander was born on May 30, 1918, in Ringgold, to John H. and Mollie (Wilson) Moody.

She married Wildo "Witt" Vasco Alexander on June 24, 1933, in Terrell, Okla.

Mrs. Alexander worked as a seamstress at Action Line Co. Inc., and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wildo Alexander; and her parents, John and Mollie Moody.

Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Wildo Mack and Ann Alexander, Grand Prairie, Texas; J.D. and Aleta Alexander, Lucas, Texas; Richard and Louise Alexander, Ringgold, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Ella and Jim Henderson, Shawnee; sister, Lorine Goodwin, New Camey, Texas; brother, Henry Lawrence Moody, Houston, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel in Nocona, Texas.

Burial will be in Ringgold Cemetery.

Susan O'Neill Richmond

Susan O'Neill Richmond of Shawnee died on Jan. 7. She was 47.

She was born Nov. 24, 1952, in Broken Arrow, the daughter of Albert Willis Coffey and Phyllis (Duncan) Darby.

Mrs. Richmond lived in Shawnee for the past nine years. She previously lived in Meeker and Florida.

She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Coffey.

Survivors include her mother, Phyllis Darby, Shawnee; four sons, Albert Craig O'Neill, Shawnee; Tracy O'Neill, Arkansas; Philip O'Neill, Shawnee; Shawn O'Neill, Shawnee; four sisters, Nancy Sober, Oklahoma City; Jimmie Hodson, Chandler; Robbie Frye, Pryor; Della Sellers, Earlsboro; six grandchildren, Heather O'Neill, Adam O'Neill, Michael O'Neill, Shelby O'Neill, Sheldon O'Neill and Hannah O'Neill; six nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sharon Baptist Church in Shawnee.

Kenneth Cherry

Shawnee resident Kenneth Cherry, 69, died Wednesday at his home.

Services are pending with Resthaven Funeral Home.

Wilma L. Hooley

Wilma L. Hooley, 77, of Shawnee died Tuesday in a local hospital.

She was born July 23, 1924, in Shawnee, the daughter of B.O. and Sara Elizabeth (Holloway) Marshall.

She attended Shawnee public schools.

On Dec. 24, 1941, she married Warren G. Hooley in Shawnee

Hooley was a florist. She was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church.

Hooley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Floyd Marshall, and a sister, Mildred Meyers.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Larry Frey and Cindy and Rick VanKrevelen, all of Enid; a sister and brother-in-law, Vallie and Walter Bowlan of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren and their spouses, Lori and Mark Bowers , Chris VanKrevelen and Kelly Van Krevelen, all of Enid, and Eric and Staci Frey of Austin, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Rock Creek Baptist Church, with the Revs. R. Reed Lynn and Richard Zimmer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid. Arrangements are being handled by Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Wesley A. Lankford

Seminole resident Wesley A. "Banks" Lankford, 75, died Tuesday at the age of 75.

Survivors include his wife, Grace (McKee) Lankford of the home; sons, Gary Lankford of Seminole and Jeff Lankford of Earlsboro; daughters, Vicki Johnson of Seminole and Connie Winlock of Seminole; brothers, Roy Lankford of Francis, Okla., and Jerry, James and Steve Lankford, all of Hobart; sisters, Betty Jones of Arkansas and Wanda Rogers of Hobart; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Long officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Jayne B. Capps

Lifelong Konawa resident Jayne B. Capps died Tuesday, Feb 5, 2008, at Ada Retirement Center in Ada at the age of 88.

Service will be 10:30 a.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with the Rev. Mark Streetman officiating. Burial will be at Konawa City Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Betty R. Cassady

Oklahoma City resident Betty R. Cassady died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at the age of 61.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore.

Winston Wilson

Former Chandler resident Winston Wilson, 90, died Thursday, Aug. 4, in Tulsa.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Chandler with Chaplin Merle Newton officiating. Arrangements are being directed by Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.

Mark Stobaugh

Tulsa resident Mark Stobaugh died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at the age of 27.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to noon Friday.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Stroud Cemetery with Dewayne Jackson officiating.

Parks Brothers Funeral Services, Stroud, is directing arrangements.

Jerry Dean Edwards Jr.

Choctaw resident Jerry Dean Edwards Jr., 44, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Newalla. Arrangements under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah.

Shirley Sandmann

Tribbey resident Shirley Sandmann, 71, passed Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, in Ada.

On Aug. 15, 1936, she was born to Silas E. and Ruth Lee (Morris) Barnett, in Oklahoma City.

She was raised in Oklahoma City, and attended Capitol Hill High School.

In 1965 she married Bill Sandmann in Sallisaw. They settled in Tribbey in 1971 and had lived there since.

She was a homemaker, as well as the owner and operator of Sandmann Grocery Store and Cafe in Tribbey from 1985-2005, where she was a very good cook, and shared her many recipes she had collected over the years. She was a member of the Downtown Pentecostal Church, the Tribbey Ladies Auxiliary, and was secretary/treasurer for the Tribbey Cemetery organization.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill on November 9, 2003; her parents: Silas and Ruth Barnett; a daughter, Brenda Sue Sandmann; a sister, Susan Barnett; niece, Toni Arnold and a great-niece, Jessica Arnold.

Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Glenna and Phil Renner of Hernando, Miss., Donna and Bobby Boone of Wardville, Okla. and Shirley and Danny Davis of Ada; seven grandchildren, Denson and Jacy Cable, Cassandra Mascorro, Karisa Davis, Clancy Davis, Matthew Gregson, Bonnie Boone and Heather Boone; two great-grandchildren, Bren Marie Cable and Baby Gregson; sister, Beverly Arnold of Oklahoma City; one nephew and two great-nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ron Baldridge officiating.

Jacob "Jerry" Redekopp

Jacob "Jerry" Redekopp, 85, passed away in the local hospital on Jan. 7, 2008, after an extended illness.

He was born to David and Elizabeth Toews Redekopp on March 31, 1922, in Kelstern, Saskatchewan Canada.

Jacob joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in January of 1943. He attended gunnery school and trained as an air gunner in Mont Joli, Quebec graduating in the summer of 1943. He was then posted overseas to a Royal Air Force Operational Training Unit and was the mid upper gunner. After his training, he was sent to a conversion unit to be familiarized with the Lancaster bomber aircraft.

On May 20, 1944, his Lancaster bomber aircraft crashed. Jacob was still conscious and was able to remove Owen Jones and Jim Philips from the burning aircraft. They were the only three members of their flight crew to survive. As a result of going back inside of the burning plane, Jacob was severely burned and was sent to Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, England, where he became a member of the "Guinea Pig Club" set up for burn victims of W.W.II at the hospital. He remained in the hospital for one year before being sent back home to Canada for rehabilitation. He later moved to the United States to expand his construction business.

He married Shirley Tyler on March 1, 1974, in Shawnee. They lived in Ft. Worth, Texas before moving to Shawnee where they resided for 24 years. He worked in Norman as a self-employed contractor before his retirement. He was a member of the Northridge Church of Christ in Shawnee. They moved to Ardmore in May of 2004 to be closer to family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Edwin, Henry, Albert, David and Simon.

He is survived by his wife Shirley of the home; daughter, Roxanne of Canada, other family members, Vaughn Tyler and his wife, Vicky, of Ardmore, Shelley Geurin and husband, Tommy, of Ardmore and Kivin Tyler of Ardmore; grandchildren, Shawn Geurin and wife, Carmella, of Ardmore, Jennifer Marshall and husband, Rich, of Ardmore, Melanie Tyler of Ardmore, Sarah Tyler of Norman, Kindra Ott and fiance, Chad Rose, of Oklahoma City, Tyler Ott and wife, Shaelyn, of Oklahoma City, great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jake Geurin of Ardmore, Nicholas and Lauren Marshall of Ardmore, Madelyn and Kaitlyn Ott of Oklahoma City; nephews, Wayne Redekopp and wife, Marilyn, Larry Redekopp and wife, Iline; nieces Dale Haubrick and husband, Harold and Jane Bochek and husband, Bob, all of Canada.

His request was to be cremated. The family held a private memorial service on Jan. 7.

Services were under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
