Kristie Deann Patadal-Gordon

Kristie Deann Patadal-Gordon of Oklahoma City died Saturday. She was 29.

She was born Sept. 8, 1969, in Lawton to Burt Patadal and Mary George. She graduated from Garden City (Kan.) Senior High School.

She worked as a payroll specialist for American Floral Services for five years. She was married to Everett Leo Gordon on Feb. 14, 1997, in Moore, Okla.

After spending her early years in Shawnee, Mrs. Patadal-Gordon lived in Oklahoma City for the last five years.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Tony Pineda; her grandmother, Jeannetta Jefferson, and grandfather George Patadal.

Surviving are her husband, Everett L. Gordon; her father, Burt Patadal of Shawnee; her mother, Mary (George) Felicioni of Holdenville; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mona and Carl Renfro of Tecumseh; Beatrice Patadal of Boston, Mass. and Michelle Pineda of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Stan Factor of Oklahoma City, and Sean Pineda of Wichita, Kan.; her mother-in-law, Edith Gordon of Oklahoma City; her grandmother, Emma George; a special mother and dad, Georgia and Vincent Pineda of Wichita, Kan. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be 9:30 a.m. today at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Victor Cope, Father Roberto Quant and Floyd Switch officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the director of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City.

Chlora Zelpha Prince

Shawnee resident Chlora Zelpha Prince died Sunday at her home. She was 85.

Mrs. Prince was born Oct. 30, 1913, in Vilonia, Ark., to James and Martha Griffin. She married Carl Henry Prince in 1945.

She graduated from high school in Vilonia, Ark., and lived in Livermore, Calif., from 1957 to 1985 when she moved to Shawnee.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Livermore, Calif.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Anthony Valentine, Shawnee; Ruth and Harold Gabriel, Phelan, Calif.; three stepchildren, Carole DeCorte, Yerington, Nev.; Carl Henry Prince Jr., Riverside, Calif.; Bill Prince, Montclair, Calif.; grandsons, Carl James Valentine, Shawnee; Harold Gabriel, Phelan, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Justin James Harris and Brittney Nicole Campbell, both of Shawnee; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, four brothers and a sister.

Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Livermore, Calif. Local arrangements were under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Cleo J. Sewell

Shawnee resident Cleo J. Sewell died Wednesday at a local nursing home. She was 75.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dale Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Sewell was born April 27, 1923, in Macomb to E.J. and Beulah Weston. She graduated from Shawnee High School.

She was a cosmetologist and moved back to Shawnee in 1984. She also worked for the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

She was a member of the Day Lily Organization and the Shawnee Garden Club.

Survivors include her son, Charles Stauchurski, Meeker; her daughter, Susan D. Pearl, Shawnee; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one sister, Jaquetta Dodson, Reding, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E.J. and Beulah Weston, and her daughter, Barbara Morris.

Mary Elizabeth Arnold Merchant

Former Shawnee resident Mary Elizabeth Arnold Merchant of Loving, N.M., died Tuesday in a Carlsbad, N.M., hospital. She was 74.

She was born in Shawnee on July 7, 1924, the daughter of John P. and Elizabeth (Cobb) Arnold. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1941 and attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha.

She married Wallace S. Merchant on Jan. 20, 1945. She was a member of Loving Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, John P. Arnold Jr.

Surviving are her husband of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Cathy Merchant, Exeter, Calif.; Paul and Peggy Merchant, Lawton; Kim and Susan Merchant, Carlsbad, N.M.; daughter, Virginia Andrus, Austin, Texas; sister Margaret Jane Brown, and niece, Jan Britt, Shawnee, and eight grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Denton-Funchess Funeral Home, Carlsbad, N.M., with burial at Carlsbad Cemetery.

Mary L. Robinson

Longtime Shawnee resident Mary L. Robinson died Monday in a local hospital. She was 80.

She was born June 24, 1918, in El Dorado, Kan., to Harry and Modie (Sileer) Winsor. She married Tommy Robinson in Borger, Texas, on March 4, 1940, and was a homemaker.

She had lived in Shawnee since 1942 and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband in 1982, her parents, and one son, Joey Robinson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Rose Hill Mausoleum, Tulsa, with the Rev. Rusty Williams officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or the Oklahoma Methodist Relief Fund.

Allen Chapman

Allen Chapman of Shawnee died Tuesday in a local hospital at the age of 69.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Matthews and the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 30, 1929, in Oklahoma City to Eutis P. and Blanche Marie (Strawn) Chapman. He graduated from Carnegie High School in 1948 and served in the U.S. Army.

He married Patsy Shahan, who preceded him in death. He later married Barbara Dake.

Chapman was an engineering technician at Tinker Air Force Base. He had been a Toastmaster, troop leader of Boy Scouts in McLoud and Oklahoma City, chairman of the March of Dimes in McLoud, president of Kickapoo Kampers and president of the American Society of Certified Engineering Technicians.

His parents also preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Erin and Kristie Chapman, Edmond; son, Kevin Chapman, Oklahoma City; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Perry Humphreys, Jones; granddaughter, Casandra; sister and brother-in-law, Alva and Jess Yandell, Tecumseh; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jackie and Tom Markwell, Meeker, and many other relatives.

Elsie Louise Kottke

Longtime Shawnee resident Elsie Louise Kottke died Wednesday at a local hospital. She was 88.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

She was born Nov. 3, 1910, in Earlsboro to William C. and Lizzie (Zellmer) Kottke. She graduated from Earlsboro High School in 1929 and worked at Shawnee Garment Factory for 29 years.

She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

Survivors include sisters, Marie McRee and Helen Elliott, both of Shawnee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Ernest Mikish, Rogers, Ark.; and Pauline and John Crane, Earlsboro; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William "Bill" and Alvin C. Kottke.

Ople Laphine Holladay

Ople Laphine Holladay of Shawnee died Friday in a local hospital. She was 94.

She was born Aug. 22, 1906, the daughter of Jim and Dodie Epperson.

In 1925, she graduated from Shawnee High School. Mrs. Holladay worked as a bookkeeper and retired from Arden's Dress Shop. She was married to Hubert Milner. She later married Joe Holladay, who preceded her in death in 1955.

She was a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 43 and was a past worthy matron and secretary for more than 20 years.

Preceding her in death were her husband; one son, Jimmy Milner; three brothers, Jack Epperson; Buck Epperson and C.W. Epperson; and two sisters, Pauline Epperson and Margaret Epperson Northcutt.

Survivors include three granddaughters, Ava Milner Winterowd; Cathy Milner Torbett and Jary Milner Bohannon; eight great-grandchildren, Leslie Blevins, Annette Johnson, Julie Torbett, Rickey Bohannon II, Alesa DeLeon, Haley Freed, Misty Bohannon and P.J. Bohannon; eight great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Nella Milner and two nephews and one niece.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Whittaker officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Azalee M. Lyle

Azalee M. Lyle of McLoud died Thursday in an area nursing home. She was 87.

She was born in McLoud Aug. 1, 1913, the daughter of Christopher and Ruth Williams. She attended Kickapoo schools and was of the Baptist faith. Lyle lived in and around McLoud most of her life.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Johnie Scheidt of McLoud; one grandson and his wife, John Bryan and Toni Scheidt of Tecumseh; three great-granddaughters; one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, Linley Williams of Dallas, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Dale Cemetery. The Rev. Leroy Kerbo will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Hazel B. Steed

Former Shawnee resident Hazel B. Steed of Austin, Texas, died Wednesday at a Texas nursing home. She was 94.

She was born Oct. 9, 1905, in Ada to Robert Houston and Dora Luella (Manley) Bennett. She attended Ada schools and married Tom Steed Feb. 26, 1923, in Ada.

She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and was involved in the Daughters of the American Revolution.

A former resident of Oklahoma City, Bartlesville, McAlester and Norman, she had lived in Shawnee since 1927, but moved to Austin, Texas in April 1999.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Tom Steed, in June, 1983; and one son, Roger Steed in 1947.

Surviving are a son, Richard Steed of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren, Roger Steed of Birmingham, Mich., Marguerite Hoffman of Dallas, Texas; and Katherine VanderWoude of Evergreen, Colo.; six great-grandchildren; and niece, Donna Rae Birdsong of Baxter Springs, Kan.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with the Rev. Janie Kirt Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

The family will greet friends in the Parish Hall of Emmanuel Episcopal Church 9 a.m. today before the services.

Memorials may be given to the Endowment Fund of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 548, Shawnee, Okla., 74801.

Bruce W. Thompson

Shawnee resident Bruce W. Thompson died Thursday in Sewanee, Tenn. He was 42.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Clifford Elwanda Richardson

Shawnee resident Clifford Elwanda Richardson died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 79.

Mrs. Richardson was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Prague. She was raised in Prague and lived in Gordonville, Texas, for eight years. She had lived in Shawnee for the past year.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Joe Scheller, Gordonville, Texas; son, Richard Coffey, Coffeyville, Kan.; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Adler Montgomery, Langley, Okla.; Bob Montgomery, Chanute, Kan.; two sisters, Mamie Morningstar, Shawnee; Opal Licklider, Prague; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, one grandson and one brother.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Licklider officiating.
