Judy J. McMahan

Tecumseh Judy J. McMahan died Friday in Oklahoma City. She was 42.

Mrs. McMahan was born Feb. 4, 1957, in Longview, Wash., to E.E. and Oneta (Porter) Coffey.

She married Rick McMahan on July 12, 1976, in Tecumseh.

She was raised in Concord, Calif., moving to Tecumseh in 1971. She was a 1975 graduate of Tecumseh High School and attended college for two years. She was a homemaker and worked in home health care.

Survivors include her husband, Rick McMahan, of the home; son, Earl Dug McMahan, Tecumseh; parents, E.E. and Oneta Coffey, Tecumseh; mother-in-law, Jewell McMahan, Tecumseh; aunts, Ruby Sillyman, Pampa, Texas, Emilee Trask, Amarillo, Texas, Opal James, Tecumseh, and Rhoda Flowers, Phoenix, Ariz.; uncle, Paul Mears, Conchas Dam, N.M.; special lifetime friend, Denise Dunn White, Tecumseh; and many other relatives and friends.

Edith Francis Conway

Tecumseh resident Edith Francis Conway died Saturday at her home. She was 84.

Mrs. Conway was born Oct. 23, 1914, in Bonnie, Texas, to Arthur and Francis (Wilkins) Baker.

She married Ponder Conway on April 30, 1945, in Hamilton, Ohio.

She graduated from Bonnie (Texas) High School and later attended college in Hamilton, Ohio. She and her husband lived in 29 Palms, Calif., for about 25 years before moving to Tecumseh in 1983.

She worked as a baker for Shawnee Regional Hospital for about five years. She also was a quilt maker. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church Broadway Congregation of Tecumseh.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Floyd and Reba Conway, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Vernita and Floyd Norvell, Michigan; sister and brother-in-law, Rt. Lt. Col. Marilyn Baker Brown and Bart Brown, Albuquerque, N.M.; brother-in-law, Bud Banfield, Colorado; grandchildren, Brian Conway Ford, of the home; Rena Mullinax, Shawnee; David Conway, Shawnee, and Dusty Conway, of the home; two nieces and their spouses; one nephew and his wife; good friend, Marie Mize, Tecumseh; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son and one sister.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Funeral Home with Dr. William H. Bentley officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Terry Joe McBroom

Shawnee resident Terry Joe McBroom died Saturday in Shawnee. He was 33.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Vista Cemetery.

Other arrangements are pending.

Jessie U. Archer

Jessie U. Archer of Shawnee died Monday at a local nursing home . She was 100.

She was born March 9, 1900, in Taney County, Mo. She was the daughter of George Layfette and Zana (Stetson) Randolph.

She worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a photostatic copier. She retired in the 1960s.

She was married Dec. 2, 1917, to Robert Perry Spikes, who died July 24, 1943.

She married Bob Archer in 1954. He died in the 1970s. She was a member of the First Church of God.

Mrs. Archer lived in Shawnee until 1951, when she moved to Midwest City. In 1992, she moved to Stratford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister and two husbands.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Georgia and Marvin Cook, Shawnee; Beatrice McKinley, McLoud; Etta Mae and Melvin Cook, Grand Prairie, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Robert and Lola Spikes, Stratford; 10 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tom Harrison officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery.

Freeman Thompson

Freeman "Jay" Thompson of Earlsboro died Monday. He was 84.

One of nine children born to Simon Jay Thompson Jr. and Verona A. Beddoe Thompson in Okemah, on July 13, 1916.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a horse breeder-trainer. He also worked as a machinist, mechanic and welder.

Thompson was married to Beuna Muriel Tilley in Los Angeles, Calif., on Sept. 27, 1941.

Survivors include his wife, Beuna; son, William Jay Thompson, who married Linda Lee Brelsford; brother, Edwin Thompson; four granddaughters, Christy Lee Thompson-Hawkins, Tina Louise Thompson-Willett, Sherry Ann Thompson-Ragland and Sheila Ann Thompson-Williams and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Mercer-Adams Funeral Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, with burial in Bethany Cemetery.

Helena Johnson Tall Bull

Helena "Babe" Johnson Tall Bull of Norman died Monday in Norman. She was 53.

She was born March 27, 1947, in Concho. She attended Fort Sill Indian School in Lawton.

She was a graduate of Moore/Norman Vo-Tech. She was reared and lived the majority of her life in Norman.

On Sept. 6, 1965, she married Floyd Tall Bull in Norman. She was a computer operator for the University of Oklahoma until retiring in 1991.

She was a member of the Western Delaware Nation Tribe.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd Tall Bull of Norman; two sons, Seneca and Dakota Tall Bull of the home; her mother, Etheline Johnson of Norman; three brothers, L.L. "Joe" Hendricks of Oklahoma City; Jerry Wayne Feexico of Moore; Tony Wayne Johnson of Norman; one uncle, Bill Johnson Jr. of Norman; two aunts, Florence Belden Kohn of Norman; Jeanne Stephens of Oklahoma City and numerous other relatives and friends.

Tribal rites were Tuesday evening at the Little Axe Community Center. Burial will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at Absentee Shawnee Tribal Cemetery with Don White officiating. Services are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.

Ted W. Moore

Ted W. Moore of Moore died Tuesday in Norman. He was 68.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Church of Christ, 10th and Shawnee Street, Shawnee, with Elder Harold Gibson and Elder Vernon Markwell officiating. Other information is pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Erwin Keys

Erwin Keys of Shawnee died Tuesday at a local hospital. He was 95.

Services are pending with Resthaven Funeral Home.

Corinne Huff

Corinne M. Huff died Friday in Oklahoma City. She was 63.

She was born Dec. 31, 1936, in Guthrie. She was the daughter of Wendell Lehman and Mildred (Stovall) Mohler.

Mrs. Huff married Donald Huff on Sept. 1, 1979, in Chandler, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chandler.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Survivors include husband, Donald Huff of Chandler; two sons, Chuck Chase of Boston, Mass.; Steven Chase of Boston, Mass.; one brother, David Mohler of Shell Knob, Mo.; one sister, Ruthanna Betts of Redding, Calif.; two grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Chandler. Burial will follow at the Sunny Lane Cemetery in Oklahoma City, with the Rev. Hugh Willoby officiating.

J.B. Butler

J.B. Butler, 84, Shawnee, died Monday in Tulsa.

A memorial service is set for 1 p.m. today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Harley Dillon Martin

Harley Dillon Martin, 83, Depew, died Tuesday in Bristow.

He was born Nov. 25, 1917, in Hanna, Okla., the son of Guss and Lovie (Morgan) Martin.

Martin had lived in Depew for the last 15 years and was a member of the Baptist church in Tulsa.

During World War II, Martin served in the U.S. Army.

On Aug. 21, 1947, he and Lois C. Van Horn were married in Tulsa.

Martin was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, two sisters and one son, Herman Rowland.

Survivors include his sister, Hazel Sumner of Ames, Okla.; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Rowland of Depew; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Stroud. The Rev. Joe Molencupp will officiate. Burial will be in Davenport Cemetery.

Walter Roberson

Shawnee resident Walter Roberson, 68, died Wednesday in an Oklahoma City hospital.

Services are pending with Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Jacob Bristow

Jacob Bristow of Shawnee died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 77.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. Other information is pending.

Arnold Houston

Former Shawnee resident Arnold Houston died Sunday in Santa Maria, Calif., at the age of 89.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Santa Maria under the direction of Dudley Hoffman Funeral Home. Other information is pending.

Terry Joe McBroom

Shawnee resident Terry Joe McBroom died Saturday in Shawnee. He was 33.

McBroom was born June 14, 1966, in Purcell, Okla., to Isaac Payton McBroom and Leoma Carter Williams.

He attended school in Asher, Tecumseh and Shawnee. He was reared in Asher but later moved to Shawnee. He worked as a tree surgeon with McCoy Tree Trimmers.

Survivors include his sons, Joshua Joe McBroom and Andrew Lynn McBroom, both of Wolf; mother, Leoma Williams, Shawnee; father, Isaac McBroom, Davis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Donald Black, Asher, Nancy and Dale Morton and Linda and David Morton, all of Tecumseh; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Phyllis McBroom, Wanette; Donald and Evelyn McBroom, Tecumseh; Kenneth McBroom, Beaver, Okla.; and Larry and Brenda McBroom, Shawnee; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Edward Black officiating. Burial will be in Vista Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Chapel.
