Shirley Coleman Linnell
Shirley Coleman Linnell, 65, Azle, Texas, died Sunday at a Fort Worth care center.
Mrs. Linnell, who grew up in the Shawnee area, was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl L. MacDonald, in 1999, and a son, James Luther Mayhew, in 1996.
Survivors include sons, David Mayhew and Troy Mayhew both of Azle, Texas; Randy Mayhew of Fort Worth, Texas, and Darrell Mayhew of Southlake, Texas; daughter, Diana Hayslip of Florida; brother, Troy F. Coleman of Azle, Texas; sisters, Benito Hutto of Hurst and Janice Van Horn of Lake Worth, Texas, and 15 grandchildren.
Services were Wednesday at Mount Olivet Chapel. Burial was at at Olivet Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Texas at Huguley, 301 Medpark Circle, Burleson, Texas 76028.
Bobby Gene Osborn
Bobby Gene Osborn, 60, Wetumka, died Saturday in Wetumka.
He was born in Wetumka on Nov. 9, 1940, the son of Darl Garrison Osborn and Beatrice Smith Osborn. He attended Wetumka Public Schools, graduating in 1959.
Osborn worked with pipelines and oil field-related work. He lived many years in Weleetka before returning to Wetumka four years ago.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his daughters, Christina Ann Smith and Sammi Jo Osborn of Kansas; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Judy Osborn of Modesto, Calif.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gwen and Mack Tyree of Frost, Texas, and Darline and Pete Pendley of McLoud; three grandchildren, Eli, Chase and Taylor, and several other relatives.
Services were held Tuesday at Williamson Funeral Chapel, Wetumka. The Rev. Don Williamson officiated and burial was in the Wetumka Cemetery.
Catherine Sue Hilton
Catherine Sue "Cathy" Hilton died Sunday at her Seminole home. She was 48.
She was born March 26, 1953, in Lemoore, Calif., to Paul and Wanda (Langdon) Jordan. She married Mike Hilton on July 30, 1973, in Ada.
She was a homemaker and had lived in Seminole since 1955.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Derick Hilton.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Hilton, of the home; two sons, Shannon Hilton and Erick Hilton, both of Seminole; three grandchildren, Nicole Hilton, Austin Hilton and Skylar Hilton; a brother, Paul Jordan, Boley; a sister, Sue Holland, Seminole; and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bowlegs Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Laura Whitecotton
Laura Whitecotton, 87, died Wednesday in Bethany.
She was born July 2, 1913, in Harjo, the daughter of Elliott and Hilda Irene (Canalas) Skeen. She worked as a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Kenneth Whitecotton; parents; two brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include her niece and caregiver, Laquita Webster of Tecumseh, and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. Will Bentley will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
Doris Gwendolyn Absher Walkingstick
Yukon resident Doris Gwendolyn Absher Walkingstick, 72, died Sunday.
She was born in Morganton, N.C., on Aug. 29, 1928. She was a retired sous chef and was a homemaker and mother.
She had received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Cat Fanciers Association, and she bred the first grand champion Exotic Shorthair in the world.
Preceding her in death were her sister, Sybil Lavonne Absher Longwell, and her parents, Olga Jerome Smith Absher and Daniel Forest Absher.
Surviving relatives include her three children, Janis Lynn Walkingstick of Tahlequah, C. David Walkingstick of Shawnee and Kim Walkingstick Bird of Oklahoma City; a brother, Herman Neville Absher of Clifton Park, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Sara Marie Walkingstick, Clint David Walkingstick and Evan Christopher Bird, all of Oklahoma City; and her former husband, Charles McKaig Walkingstick of Yukon.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Turner Mortuary, 201 E. Main, Yukon. Burial will be in Yukon Cemetery.

Larry Freeman
Newalla resident Larry Freeman died Saturday at age 62.
He was born in Hunter, Ark., on Aug. 18, 1938, to Otis and Minnie (Melvin) Freeman.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one grandson, Justin.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia ("Patty"), of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Beth Landreth of Nicoma Park, and Scott and Shelley Landreth of Harrah; three sisters: Wanda Ridge, Linda Benson and Martha Hagler, all of Arkansas; a brother, Ross Freeman of Arkansas; eight grandchildren and many other relatives.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Freewill Baptist Church in Harrah. Burial will be in Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah. Arrangements are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.
Lola D. Bardin
Lola D. Bardin died Saturday in Okemah at age 97.
She was born in Stone County, Ark., on April 12, 1904. She was the daughter of James Franklin and Flora Morrison Passmore Franklin.
In 1926, she and Harvey C. Bardin were married in Holdenville. The couple moved to Okemah in 1928.
Mrs. Bardin was a member of First Baptist Church of Okemah. She worked as a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one son, J.B. Bardin; one grandson; three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Sharon Bardin of Ada; daughters and sons-in-law, Velma and Harold Like of Okemah, Delores and Leroy Gillam of Hot Springs, Ark., and Sue Janis of Hot Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Ella Brooks of Midwest City and Faye Turner of Arkansas Pass, Texas; 13 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah with the Rev. Jim Waller officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah.
Thelma Naomi Chamblin
Thelma Naomi Chamblin died Monday at a local nursing home. She was 80.
Services are pending with Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
Alpha Lou Roper
Alpha Lou Roper died Monday at a Midwest City hospital. The Shawnee resident was 91.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tecumseh Cemetery.
Arrangements and announcement of other information are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
Betty Corine Gouker
Betty Corine Gouker, 61, died Sunday at a Chandler nursing home.
She was born near Meeker on July 26, 1936, the daughter of Ernest Samuel and Cora (Roller) Gouker. She had lived in the Meeker area most of her life.
Preceding her in death were her parents and four brothers.
Survivors include her brother, Harold Gouker, and sister, Alene Grubaugh, both of Meeker.
Viewing will be until 1 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. The Rev. Leon Williams will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.
Vonda C. Monroe
Shawnee resident Vonda C. Monroe died Friday at a local hospital. She was 50.
Service information is pending with Resthaven Funeral Home.
Edward D. Dukes
Harrah resident Edward D. Dukes, 76, died Monday in Paden.
