Fay Andrew Phillips
Fay Andrew Phillips of Shawnee died Sept. 11 at his home. He was 76 years old.

He was born Jan. 13, 1927, in Prairie Grove, Ark., to Elmer and Elsie (Cahall) Phillips.

He married Flora Eulene Patterson on Oct. 15, 1949, at the Baptist Church in Sparks. They were married 54 years.

Phillips served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Flora Eulene Phillips, of the home; eight children, Kathryn Knowlton of Shawnee, Donna Washburn of Midwest City, Linda Liles of Tecumseh, Debbie Cook of North Dakota, Sheila Van Brunt of Shawnee, Lisa Alexander of Derby, Kan., John Phillips of Del City and Veronica Franks of Shawnee; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Resthaven Memorial Park will follow.

William Price
William "Uncle Willy" Price, 57, of Shawnee died Sept. 11 in Oklahoma City.

He was born Feb. 10, 1946, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Levine Lothingale and Ethel Louise (Gabbard) Price.

He graduated with the class of 1964 in Stigler.

He owned and operated The Soap Opera in Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his father, Levine (Pevine) Price, and his friend, Ronny Brown.

Survivors include his mother, Ethel Price; brothers and sister-in-law, Curtis Price of Enid and Charlie and LaNeil Price of Stigler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Wayne Pearce and Marcia and Ricky Bryce, all of Stigler; 13 nieces and nephews; 21 great-nieces and nephews; and 12 great-great nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Assembly of God Church in Stigler.

Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home in Oklahoma City.

Polly Ann Katherine Holmes
Polly Ann Katherine Holmes, 81, of Shawnee and formerly of Macomb, died Sept. 11 at Rose Manor Nursing Home.

Survivors include a son, Richard Holmes of Tulsa; daughter, Nancy Famelos of Tulsa; and a sister, Iona Morgeson of Shawnee.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Elizabeth Walker
Longtime Chandler resident Elizabeth Walker, 89, died Sept. 11 in Oklahoma City.

Surviving relatives include two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Ann Bell of Gage and Patsy and Floyd Soderstrom of Chandler; a brother, Max Robbins of Sparks; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler with the Rev. Thomas Chappelle officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.

Dorothy Mildred Purdum
Seminole County native Dorothy Mildred Purdum, 83, died Sept. 11 at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Surviving relatives include a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Marsha Purdum of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; and many other relatives.

Graveside service is 2 p.m. Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery. Swearingen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wesley Earl Treece Jr.
Wesley Earl Treece Jr., 20, of Shawnee died Sept. 11 at his residence.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery.

Other information is pending with Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Thelma F. Moore
Thelma F. Moore, 80, of Shawnee died Wednesday in Shawnee.

Survivors include one brother, I.M. Caldwell of Raleigh, N.C.; mother-in-law, Edna Moore of Durant; and two sisters-in-law, Letha Compton of Durant and Mildred Caldwell of Lubbock, Texas.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwyane Dennis officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Mildred L. Price
Mildred L. Price, 71, of Konawa died Thursday in Ardmore.

She was a lifelong resident of Konawa.

She was born May 30, 1931, in Konawa to Cassie McKinley and Tezzie Jane (Williams) Branscum.

She married Junior Price on June 15, 1974, in Konawa. She was a clerk for 20 years at Streetmans' Grocery in Konawa.

She was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Konawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Junior Price, of the home; three sons, Bobby Parker of Konawa, Mike Evans of Ada, and Brad Boys of North Richland Hills, Texas; one daughter, Kerri York of Konawa; two she raised like her own daughters, Eva Lee Durham and Loraine McClatchey of the home; four brothers, Edward Branscum of Perry, J.E. Branscum of Konawa, Arlton Branscum of Ada and Don Branscum of Ada; grandchildren, Melanie and Tyler York of Konawa; two special nieces, Christina Fleming and Deborah Baretta; several nieces, nephews, her church family and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Wade Scott and Wesley Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery at Konawa. Services are under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.

Edward Renzo Harris
Edward Renzo Harris, 78, of Earlsboro died Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

He was a lifelong resident of Earlsboro.

He was born Aug. 11, 1924, in Earlsboro to Arthur Lee and Lizzie M. (Miller) Harris.

He married Cordelia Harris in 1966 at Seminole.

He retired from Pottawatomie County as a road grader operator. He was a member of CME Ware Chapel Church in Earlsboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Cordelia Harris of the home; stepson, Lonnie Jett of Tennessee; two brothers, the Rev. Roger L. Harris Sr. of Spencer and Arthur L. Harris Jr. of Spencer; two sisters, Anna Rene Yarbrough of San Diego and Ida Wiseman of Holly Springs, Miss.

Services will be 1 p.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.B. Moore officiating and the Rev. Rabon Turner assisting. Burial will take place at Earlsboro Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Paul Big Eagle
Oklahoma City resident Paul Big Eagle, 19, died Friday at his home.

He was born Nov. 13, 1982, in Santa Fe, N.M., to George and Peggy Big Eagle and graduated from Butler High School. He was a member of the Osage and Sac and Fox tribes.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Big Eagle in 1996.

Survivors include his mother, Peggy of the home; a sister, Janet Helms of Edmond; a grandmother, Peggy Acova of Denver, Colo.; grandparents, Darrell and Mary Nelson, and numerous other relatives.

Tribal rites will be Monday evening at the Carol Patterson home, northeast of Shawnee. Burial will follow at the Wakolee family cemeteryunder the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Glenn L. West
Glenn L. West, 43, died Friday in Choctaw.

Survivors include two sons, Glenn LeRoy West Jr. of Japan and Christopher Lloyd West of Harrah; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Ellen West of Harrah; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Margaret and Rocky Hamm of Arkansas, Jeanie Smith of Harrah and Janis and John Parker of Meeker.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Harrah First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service in Harrah.

Margaret Ann Kaska
Seminole resident Margaret Ann Kaska, 75, died Friday at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Kaska of South Dakota and John Kaska of Seminole; two daughters, Carolyn Millard of Holdenville and Barbara Miller of Fairfield, Calif; a brother, Frank Voorhies of Hesperia, Calif.; two sisters, Catherine Divine of Escalon, Calif., and Valeria Royce of Wisconsin; and three grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairfield Evergreen Cemetery of Fairfield, Iowa.

Marlene Baker
Stroud resident Marlene Kirk Baker, 58, died Friday at her home.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy Jr. and Faith Kirk, Gary and Gaye Kirk and David Kirk, all of Stroud; a daughter and friend, Regina Kirk and Paul Anson of Shamrock; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Donna Baker of Texas and Harold and Barbara Baker of Missouri; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mary and David Hereford of Florida, her twin, Maxine and George Soderstorm of Davenport, Wanda Hibbert and Thelma and Kenny Clark, all of Stroud; six grandchildren and the children's father, Jimmy Kirk Sr. of Stroud and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Carney Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Stroud.

Herbert Hoover Hamilton
Herbert Hoover Hamilton, 73, of Shawnee died Saturday.

Other information is pending with Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Maxine Y. Yates
Maxine Y. Yates, 55, of Seminole died Saturday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Roy M. Hines of the home; four daughters, Paula Lester of McAlester, Cecilia Hines, Sonya Hines and Lesley Hines, all of Seminole; one brother, James (Sonny) Williams of Arkansas; four sisters, Christine Hinesly of Kellyville, Nowatha Cope of Eufaula, Sue Coldwell of South Carolina and Loisetta Nix of Seminole; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel of Seminole with the Rev. Charles Lester and the Rev. Robert Hightower officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Loretta Butler Rowe
Former Shawnee-Tecumseh resident Loretta Butler Rowe, 79, of Ardmore died Sunday in Ardmore.

She was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Shawnee to James S. and Hattie S. (Long) Freeman. She was raised in Tecumseh at her family's homestead, and following her marriage she lived most of her life in Shawnee. She had recently moved to Ardmore with her daughter.

She was a 1941 graduate of Tecumseh High School.

She married Franklin "Grimmie" Butler on April 20, 1940. He preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1985. She married Earl Rowe on Jan. 17, 1991, in Shawnee.

She was a homemaker and did bookkeeping and prepared income tax returns. She was a member of South Rock Creek Baptist Church.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Ollie Mauldin, Dovie Smith and Lula Stone; and three brothers, Johnie Maxwell, J.D. Freeman and Hubert Mauldin.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Rowe of Tecumseh; one son, Grover W. Butler of McAlester; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna D. and Floyd Snider of Wewoka and Darla S. and Roy Fountain of Ardmore; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at South Rock Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Reed Lynn officiating. The casket will remain open until 1:45 p.m. today and will not be reopened following the service. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
