RACHEL HYDE NICHOLS
JAY, Okla. - Rachel Hyde Nichols, 83, died Sunday, September 1, 2002 at St. John's Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.
Rachel Nichols was born October 25, 1918 in Delaware County to John Q. and Nancy (Dildine) Hyde. She married Kyle H. Nichols on October 26, 1945. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1981. During World War II, Mrs. Nichols worked at the Pryor Ammunition Plant. Later, in 1960, she worked at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa for 10 years. She lived in the Mt. Hermon community from 1973 to 1987, and in Jay for 13 years before moving to Joplin in 2000. Mrs. Nichols was the last of eight children.
Survivors include: three sons, Donald E. Allen of Kiowa, Okla., Kyle D. Nichols and wife, Lynn, of Joplin, Mo., and Ronald Dean Nichols and his wife, Patty, also of Joplin; one daughter, Roberta J. Mancuso of Jay; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, at Mt. Hermon Cemetery with Kenneth Hill officiating.
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginuel Funeral Home, Jay.

IMOGENE VIRGINIA NICHOLSON
GROVE - Imogene Virginia Nicholson of Grove died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, April 7, 2002 at the St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., after an illness. She was 75.
Imogene was born on July 4, 1926 to Jume and Hattie (Mayfield) Hill at Fairland, Okla. She graduated from Fairland High School in 1944. She moved to Tulsa, Okla., in 1948 from Fairland where she worked with a C.P.A., and then moved to Leander, Texas, in November 1963, where she and her husband owned and operated a Mom and Pop Grocery Store until retiring in 1987, and moved to Grove on March 24, 1999.
She married John J. Nicholson on December 23, 1956 in Joplin., Mo., and he survives of the home. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leon Hill.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at the Hickory Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Barker officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Fairland.
The body will lie in state at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Fairland from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
The family will receive friends at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Fairland from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation and may be sent in care of the Funeral Home.

REV. ROBERT NOFIRE
KANSAS, Okla. - Rev. Robert Nofire was born on August 20, 1911 in the Nicut Community in Sequoyah County to Joshua Nofire and Margaret (Eagle) Nofire. He went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2002 in Kansas, Okla., in Delaware County.
Robert was baptized in August of 1927 and was a member of the Belfonte Baptist Church.
He was married to Euna Bell Coleman in 1929 in Sequoyah County and to this union were born nine children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and three sons, Clifton Nofire, Abel Nofire and James Nofire.
He is survived by four sons, Robert Nofire Jr. and wife, Betty, of Twin Oaks, Jerry Nofire and wife, Louise, of Stilwell, Mose Nofire and wife, Mary, of Muldrow, and Jackson Nofire and wife, Peggy, of Kenwood; two daughters, Akie Gourd and husband, Key, of Tahlequah, and Margaret Terrapin of Stilwell. He is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of many relatives and friends.
Services were held at the Belfonte Baptist Church on March 6 with interment following in the Belfonte Cemetery in Sequoyah County with Martin Cochran and John Blackwood officiating under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Stilwell.

LANNY DALE NOLAND
JAY, Okla. - Lanny Dale Noland, 52, of Jay, Okla., died Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center, in Springdale, Ark.
He was born April 25, 1950, at Shreveport, La., to Bob Marvin Noland and Mary Ruth Tarkington Noland. He was a carpenter and a member of Kiingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Jay, Okla. He enjoyed bike riding, surfing, hiking, and being outdoors before becoming ill. He could fix anything that was broken and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tim Noland and Tony Noland; and one sister, Anna Mae Noland.
Survivors are: one son, Jason Noland of Paducah, Ky.; one brother, Bobby Noland of Jay, Okla.; one sister, Martha Cooper of Engelside, Texas; and one granddaughter, Makayla Noland of Paducah, Ky.
Cremation arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home, Inc. of Pea Ridge, Ark.
Burial will be at a later date..

JAMES ROBERT NOTTINGHAM
AFTON, Okla. - James Robert Nottingham, 80, of Afton, died Saturday, April 13, 2002 at his residence after an illness. Mr. Nottingham was born January 4, 1922 in Watts, Okla., to Steve D. and Emma "Miller" Nottingham. He was a veteran of WWII where he served with the 130th Infantry. He was a member of the American Legion Post 400 of Topeka, Kan., for over 38 years and a past commander of the Richland, Kan., Post # 391. Mr. Nottingham married Mary Sue Cole on October 14, 1949 in Fayetteville, Ark. He attended the Afton Holiness Church in Afton.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley J. Bates; son, Jimmy D. Nottingham; sister, Wilma Jean Wilt; brothers, Parris, Steve and Paul Nottingham; his mother, Emma Miller, and father, Steve Nottingham.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary; step-mother, Dorthy Rose of Afton; three sons, Parris L. Nottingham, Wichita, Kan., Robert D. Nottingham, Topeka, Kan., and Scott Nottingham, Topeka, Kan.; three brothers, William Nottingham of Tucson, Ariz., Dave Nottingham of Afton, and Richard Nottingham of Afton; three sisters, Gertrude Wood of Topeka, Kan., May of Bartlesville, Okla., and Mary Cook of Coffeyville, Kan.; 22 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, April 15, at 10:30 a.m. in Afton Holiness Church with Steve Aucuff officiating. Interment will follow a graveside service Tuesday, April 16, at 10:30 a.m. in the Topeka Cemetery under the direction of Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home of Afton

ROBYN JOYCE NUTTLE
GROVE - Robyn Joyce Nuttle, 39, of Grove, died Monday, August 12, 2002 at Grove General Hospital after a battle with liver problems and cancer.
The daughter of Robert E. Nuttle and Josie (Fields) Nuttle, Robyn was born August 15, 1962 in Pawnee, Okla.
She graduated from Pawnee High School with the Class of 1980, and then attended Oklahoma State University at Stillwater for two years, majoring in cosmetology. She moved to Grove from Stillwater in 1990, where she met her husband, Timothy Rohman. They were married in Grove on December 12, 1992.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy Rohman, of Grove; two sons, Brandon J. Nuttle and Ryan L. Ventris, both of Grove; two daughters, Skylar J.D. Rohman and Sunnye D. Rohman, both of Grove; one stepson, Anthony L. Rohman, of Grove; her mother, Josie Fields Nuttle, of Pawnee; her father, Robert E. Nuttle, of Catoosa, Okla.; two brothers, Bobby J. Nuttle, Okmulgee, Okla., and Howard W. Nuttle, Pawnee; plus a number of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 15, at 2 p.m. at the Pawnee Indian Baptist Church in Pawnee, Rev. Bruce Pratt officiating. Interment will be in the Pawnee North Indian Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home in Pawnee.

WAUNETIA O'BRIEN
JAY, Okla. - Waunetia O'Brien, age 95, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at Grove General Hospital.
Graveside services for Waunetia will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at Maysville Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.

EUNICE O'FIELD
KENWOOD, Okla. - Eunice O'Field of Kenwood passed away Saturday, January 19, 2002 in the emergency room of the Mayes County Medical Center, Pryor, Okla. Mrs. O'Field, the daughter of George and Jennie (Wickliffe) Raper, was born in the family home at Kenwood on December 11, 1934.
Funeral services for Mrs. O'Field were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, in the Euwasha Baptist Church, Kenwood, with Reverends Richard Guy Soldier and Woodrow Ross officiating. Interment followed in the Euwasha Cemetery with Mark King, Jeff King, Jamie Hair, Rick Ketcher, John Henry Raper and Marwin Leaf serving as casket bearers. Serving as Honorary casket bearers were Nick Ketcher and Charles Smoke. Funeral service arrangements were under the care of Garner's Jim Green Funeral Home in Pryor.
Eunice was a lifetime resident of Kenwood, Salina, and Mayes County. As a young girl she attended school in Kenwood and then attended Jay High School. At an early age she became a Christian and was baptized in the Euwasha Baptist Church. Eunice taught Sunday School classes and was a girl's GA leader in church for several years. She enjoyed reading her Bible, gospel music, raising indoor and outdoor flowers and sewing.
Eunice was noted as a Master Craftsman for the Cherokee Nation. At the time of her death her photograph, in poster size, and a list of her accomplishments were on display at the Smithsonian Museum, Washington, D.C. Her works in Weaving, Native Bead Work, and Basket Weaving are well known. She married Edward O'Field on July 2, 1954 in Stilwell, Okla. When her children were young the family enjoyed cookouts, swimming, and camping on Saline Creek.
Mrs. O'Field is survived by her children: Rosetta and Bob Blackbear of Kenwood, Loretta and Randy Buffington of Spavinaw, Debbie O'Field of Kenwood, Jeff and Rosalena O'Field, Rocky Ford, Phillip and Felicia O'Field of Kenwood, and Mary and Dennis Bendabout of Kenwood; 18 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a nephew she helped raise, Frank Raper; a brother, Willie Raper; sisters, Rosie Proctor and Emma King. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, John Raper, three sisters, Marie Squirrel, Ruth Hair, and Flossie Raper, and two grandchildren, Patrick Blackbear and Nellie O'Field.

JERRY L. OAKLEY
SALEM, Ore. - Jerry L. Oakley, former Fairland, Okla. resident, died November 11, 2002, at Salem. He was 61. He was born to Roy and Wilma Oakley at Fairland, on August 4, 1941. He moved to Salem as a teenager. Jerry married Rose Custor on April 1, 1962, at Salem, and they had three children. He retired from Fairview Hospital and Training Center after 32 years. He is survived by: his wife, Rose, of the home; two sons, Michael Oakley of Afton, and Donald Oakley of Salem; a daughter, Tina Oakley of Salem; a brother, Donald Oakley of Salem; and a granddaughter, Katelin. He was preceded in death by his father. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 21, at Hickory Grove Cemetery, near Grove, Okla. Arrangements are provided by Adcock Funeral Home of Afton.

JAMES ARCHIE OLDAKER
VINITA, Okla. - James Archie Oldaker, long-time Vinita resident, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2002 at the Veterans Regional Medical Center in Muskogee, Okla., following an extended illness. He was 77 years old.
James was born June 15, 1924 to Archie Ball and Eliza (Paulson) Oldaker in Oklahoma City, Okla. He worked as a laborer and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include: one sister, Corrine McMains of Nowata, Okla.; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Elmer Oldaker, and one sister, Doris Armstrong. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16 at the Timpson Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Keith Mackey, pastor of the First Christian Church will officiate.
Services are under the direction of the Burckhalter Funeral Home.

TALOEN WADE OLENICK
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - Taloen Wade Olenick, 4, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died November 13, 2002 at Arkansas Children's Hospital, Little Rock, Ark. Born February 15, 1998 in Siloam Springs, he was the son of Jamie Jones and Melissa Olenick Jordan.
Survivors include: his mother, Melissa Jordan of Siloam Springs; his father, Jamie Jones of Pineville, Mo., one brother, Gavyn Jordan of Siloam Springs; maternal grandmother, Mary Coleman of Siloam Springs; maternal grandfather, Billy Olenick of Durant, Okla.; paternal grandparents, Diane and Joe Cotton of Pineville; maternal grandfather, Casper Conklin of Springdale, Ark.; maternal great grandparents, Henry and Betty Mackey of Siloam Springs; paternal great grandparents, Jack and Eunice Lemmons of Pineville; maternal great grandfather, Charles Olenick of Durant, Okla.; maternal great great grandfather, Jim Barnes of Siloam Springs; and a number of aunts and uncles, including Dominic Olenick of Watts, Okla., Daniel Olenick of Siloam Springs, Andrew Conklin of Siloam Springs, Justin Jones of Westville, Okla., Joe T. Cotton of Pineville, and Niki Coleman of Siloam Springs.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 16, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Ronnie Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 15, at Wasson Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

MARY FRANCES OSBURN
MIAMI, Okla. - Mary Frances Osburn, a resident of Picher, Okla., died Thursday morning September 26, 2002 at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center at Miami at the age of 78 years.
She was born January 3, 1924 in Picher, Okla., to Dewey and Clara (Keithley) Berry. She was a lifetime resident of the area and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Picher. She was married to Dwight Osburn at Picher, Okla., October 30, 1949. He preceded her in death.
They had one son, Berry Joe Osburn of Picher; one daughter, Elizabeth Sharp of Columbus, Kan.; two granddaughters, Mary Kay Long and Sarah Sharp, both of Picher; three grandsons, Billy Sharp of Columbus, Kan., and B.J. Osburn and Todd Osburn, both of Picher; and five great grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, September 28, at 10 a.m. at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Picher, officiated by Rev. Clyde Stilley. Interment was at GAR Cemetery in Miami, Okla.
Pallbearers were Billy Sharp, Todd Osburn, B.J. Osburn, Tommy Long, Keith Herd, and Nick Koronis.
Arrangements were under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Picher, Okla.
