LAWRENCE SCHUMACHER
1949–2006
GROVE - Lawrence Schumacher, passed away Sunday March 12, 2006 in Groom, Texas from injuries suffered in an auto accident at the age of 56.
Lawrence was born August 13, 1949 to Floyd and Lucille LaDuke Schumacher at Vinita, Okla. He grew up in Welch, Okla. and graduated from Welch High School. He owned and operated a convenience store and truck stop construction company working all across the country including Dallas, Texas, Tulsa, Okla. and Las Vegas, Nev. He married Susan Madison Schumacher September 19, 1989 at Las Vegas, Nev. Together they enjoyed traveling, fishing, and most importantly spending time with their families. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, one brother George Schumacher and a granddaughter Whitley Robinson.
Survivors include three daughters, Kim Robinson and husband Mark of Miami, Okla., Tammy Marshall of Wagoner, Okla., and Shanna Schumacher of the home; three grandchildren, Derek, Dana, and Jaydn Marshall; four brothers, John Schumacher and wife Diana, Joe Schumacher and wife Janie, Jim Schumacher and wife Maureen, Mark Schumacher and wife Cindy; four sisters, Shirley Miller and husband Lonnie, Darlena Winton and husband Jim, Virginia Hart and husband Charley, and Linda Triece and husband Robert. He is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews, 33 great nieces and nephews, and 4 great-great nieces and nephews.
Vigil services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday April 4, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Welch, with Father Gregg Elliott officiating. Interment will follow at the Welch Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Shanna Schumacher Trust Account at the Bank of Grove, 201 E 18th St. Grove, OK 74344. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

SUSAN SCHUMACHER
1956-2006
GROVE - Susan Louise Schumacher of Grove, Okla. passed away Sunday March 12, 2006 in Groom, Texas of injuries suffered from an auto accident at the age of 49.
Susan was born March 17, 1956 to Norman and MaeLouise (Milbach) Madison at Corona, Calif. She graduated from Plain View High School in 1974. Susan was a homemaker, accountant, and most recently a realtor for Thompson and Associates in Grove. She married Lawrence Schumacher September 19, 1989 at Las Vegas, Nev. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with their families.
Survivors include: her parents Norman and MaeLouise Madison; three step daughters, Kim Robinson and husband Mark of Miami, Okla., Tammy Marshall of Wagoner, Okla., and Shanna Schumacher of the home; two brothers, Scott Madison, and Brad Madison and wife Melissa; two sisters, Shelly Doyle and husband Kirk, and Teresa Selken and husband Bill; and five nieces and nephews.
Vigil services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday April 4, at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Welch, Okla., with Father Gregg Elliott officiating. Interment will follow at the Welch Cemetery. ANNIE SIMS
1930-2006
GROVE – Annie Sims, retired cook, died at Grove Nursing Center in Grove, Okla., on Thursday, March 30, 2006, after a lengthy illness. She was 76. She was born at Miami, Okla., on January 17, 1930 to Michael and Mary Elizabeth (Gilbert) DeHannas.
She was a cook at Ginger Blue Resort in Noel, Mo., for several years. She was married to Harold Sims, who preceded her. She is survived by: two sons, Steven Sims of Missouri and Lester Madewell, Jr. of California; four daughters, Rexanna Wagner of Grove, Linda Ward of Casper Wyo., Darla Madewell of Cody, Wyo., and Michelle Howard of California; and 11 grandchildren.
The body will be cremated and no services are set at this time.
Arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Afton, Okla.

HILDRED FAYE (UNDERWOOD) SMITH
1928-2006
VINITA - Hildred Faye (Underwood) Smith 77 of Vinita, Okla., passed away early Monday morning April 3, 2006 at St. John’s Hospital in Joplin. Hildred was born on November 12, 1928 in Picher, Okla. to Henry L. and Lula A. (Motley) Underwood.
Hildred grew up in the Ketchum, Okla. and Vinita areas, attending schools there, and graduated from Vinita High School in 1946.
She worked with her father at Underwood Grocery, in Ketchum and also in later years in Vinita. Hildred also worked during World War II at the Lyric and Aztec Theaters, and the Vinita Daily Journal.
Hildred was united in marriage to Palmer N. Smith, January 9, 1947 at Miami, Okla. Rev. Frank Medearis, minister of Northwest Baptist Church, performed the wedding.
Hildred leaves as surviving her husband Palmer Smith of the home; two sons, Rev. John-Palmer Smith of Charlotte, N.C., and Rev. James R. Smith and wife Debra of Jefferson City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Jordan Wade Smith of Overland Park, Kan., and Allison DaVee Smith of Columbia, Mo.; sisters; Lelia A. Dobbs of Vinita, Shirleen Gott of Little Elm, Texas, and June Phillips of Gentry, Ark.; brothers, John L. Underwood of Gentry, Bill Underwood and wife Marge of Vinita; sister-in-law Rilla Crawford of Cleora, Okla.; brother-in-law Homer Clouse of Vinita; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Hildred was preceded in death by both of her parents, one sister, Marti Clouse, and two brothers-in-law Marvin Phillips and W.C. “Bill” Dobbs.
The family will gather at Burckhalter Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 5, to receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. John-Palmer Smith and Dr. James R. Smith officiating. Burial is to follow at McLaughlin Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be Phillip Clouse, Jason Underwood, Charles M. Crawford, Keith Dobbs, Bill Underwood, Larry D. Curran and Colby Curran.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

MABEL C. BANDY
1916-2006
HARRISONVILLE - Mabel C. Bandy, a former Miami, Okla. resident now living in Harrisonville, Mo., died at the Crown Care Center Saturday March 18, 2006. She was 89.
Mrs. Bandy was born July 7, 1916, at Haskell, Okla. to Henry and May Shearin. She earned an Associate in Arts Degree from Bacone College, Muskogee, Okla., and a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern Oklahoma College in Tahlequah. Thereafter, she spent more than 30 years working as an educator. She began her teaching profession in a one-room school house in rural Oklahoma, and she retired in 1985 from the Grandview, Missouri Consolidated School District as an 8th grade mathematics teacher.
Mrs. Bandy had been retired in Miami for almost 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and she derived great pleasure from her volunteer service at the Integris Baptist Regional Health Center.
Mrs. Bandy met her husband Weldon in high school and they were married on September 15, 1929, at Afton, Okla.
Survivors include two sons James Weldon Bandy and his wife Kyoke, Fiji Islands, and Donnie Hugh Bandy and his wife Carol of Creighton, Mo.; a daughter Bonnie Salazar and her husband Ed, Overland Park, Kan.; a sister Bonnie Neal, Grove Port, Ohio; and a Brother Leroy Shearin and his wife Wyvonne, Texas; four grandchildren James W. Bandy II, Los Angeles, Calif., Sharla Dean and husband Evan, Overland Park, Sandra Salazar, Houston, Texas and Ashely Riggs, Creighton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Weldon, brothers Henry, Jack and Paul Shearin.
Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 24, at the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Joe Don Olds officiating. Burial followed in the Sixkiller Cemetery, southeast of Afton under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Miami.

FAYE RYAN-BISHOP
1947-2006
JAY - Faye Ryan-Bishop, 58, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at SouthCrest Hospital, Tulsa, Okla.
Faye was born June 4, 1947 at Kansas, Okla. to Curley Snell and Ruby Pearl (Noe) Snell. She grew up in Kansas and graduated high school there in 1965. She attended Bacone College, Muskogee, Okla. Faye was a meat and poultry inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), working out of the Jay, Okla. office for 33 years. She retired in 2003 and enjoyed being a full-time grandma. Faye was a resident of the Kansas/Jay area all her life and was active in the Kansas High School Alumni Association. She loved being with her sisters and family and traveling with them.
Survivors include her husband, Ken of the home; four sons, James Edward Kingfisher and his girlfriend, Becky of Springdale, Ark., Rodney Lynn Kingfisher and his wife, Becky of Jay, Duwayne Bishop and his wife, Stacy of Jay and Kevin Bishop and his wife, Lisa, also of Jay; four brothers, Curtis Snell and his wife, Leetha of Rose, Okla., Douglas Snell and his wife, Clarene of Tulsa, Okla., Jerry David Snell and his wife, Cheryl of Colcord, Okla. and Dennis Snell and his wife, Debbie of Tahlequah, Okla.; three sisters, Loretta Smith of Jay, Susie Catron and her husband, Vesper of Kansas, Okla. and Phyllis Hathcoat of Tahlequah; twelve grandchildren, Brandon J., Blake E. and Austin L. Kingfisher, Christopher, Sierra, Ashton, Haleigh and Kaden Kingfisher and Stephen, Lindsey, Bailey and Gage Bishop. She was preceded in death by her parents and by one, brother, Wyley Joe Snell and one sister, Bertha Snell.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 28, at Lowery Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Lance Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Long Prairie Cemetery, west of Kansas, Okla. under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 27, at Worley-Luginbuel Chapel in Jay.

RUTH MAXINE DARTER
1923–2006
CATOOSA, Okla. - Ruth Maxine Darter, 82, died March 27, 2006 at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa Okla.
The former resident of Miami, Okla. was an employee of Burlington Manufacturing Company.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 31, at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.

HOMER GENE EARP
1934-2006
JAY - Homer Gene Earp, 72, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at his home in Jay, Okla.
Homer was born March 12, 1934 in the Rowe Community of Delaware County, Okla. to John Haskell Earp and Golda Pearl (Quick) Earp. He was married to Sally Ann Grantin at Miami, Okla. Homer was a resident of the Jay area all of his life and had lived at the current address for 30 years. He was a construction worker and also did concrete pipe work. Homer attended Jay First Assembly of God and was a member of AARP.
Survivors include his wife, Sally of the home; two sons, Rick Earp of South Lyon, Mich. and Terry Earp of Grove, Okla.; a daughter, Lori Martin and her husband, Robert of Jay; one step-son, Tony Schommer of Neenah, Wis.; two step-daughters, Christine Olsen and her husband, Mike of Neenah and Lisa Engel and her husband, Tim of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Juanita Stephens and her husband, Elzie of Jay and Pam Fields of Grove; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Curtis Earp.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, March 31, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Chapel, Jay. Interment will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

GEORGE SAMUEL JACKSON
1949-2006
VINITA, Okla. - George Samuel Jackson, 56 of Vinita passed away early Saturday morning March 25, 2006 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. George was born on May 29, 1949 in Collinsville to Albert L. and Georgia E. (Kepler) Jackson.
George was a carpenter. He loved fishing, hobby crafts, riding horses, watching football and boxing, and watching his grandson do Native American dances at Pow Wow’s.
George leaves as surviving his best friend and companion Gail Noblin of Vinita; two sons, Gerald W. “Skip” Panther and Laura of Louisville, Ky.; Wesley L. Noblin and wife Rachel of Bernice, Okla.; one grandson Byron Chase Panther of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one granddaughter Jordan Nicole Noblin of Bernice; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
George was preceded in death by both of his parents Earl and Pauline Smeltser of Tulsa, one daughter Charlotte Stevens-Jackson, two brothers, Burt Smeltser and Layton Jackson, one sister Evelyn Ruth Jackson.
Preferred memorials are requested to be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
The family will gather at Burckhalter Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. to receive relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at the Family Praise Center in Vinita with Rev. Jerry Ogdon officiating. Casket bearers will be Ron Scott, Alan Copeland, Kressley Hayes, Joe Armstrong, Ron Harvey, and Billy Dick. Honorary bearers will be James Shambles, Byron C. Panther, Jordan N. Noblin, Skip Panther and Wesley Noblin.
Services are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.
