WAYNE W. CROOK
1909-2006
LANGLEY, Okla. - Wayne W. Crook, 96 longtime Pensacola, Okla., resident passed away late Thursday evening May 4, 2006 at Craig General Hospital. Wayne was born on August 30, 1909 in Dawson, Neb. to Albert M. and Teressa A. (Waggoner) Crook.
Wayne was united in marriage to Donna Reaves on May 8, 1930 in Perry, Okla., and from this union they had five children. Wayne was a Retriever Trainer, and a member of the Retriever’s Association, Tulsa Retriever’s Club, and the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ketchum, Okla. Wayne graduated in 1930 from Stillwater High School and was captain of the football team and was very athletic.
Survivors include: his wife Donna Crook of the home; children Boyd Adams and wife June of Pensacola, Charles Crook and wife Donna also of Pensacola, Gilbert Crook and wife Nancy of Tehachapi, Calif., George Crook and wife Diane of Quincy, Wash.; daughter-in-law Ruth Crook of Reno, Nev.; 18 grandchildren 48 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Christie of Battlecreek, Wash.; and numerous nieces, nephews and host of friends.
Preferred memorials are requested to the Alzheimer’s Association or Lab Rescue.
Those unable to attend services may leave a condolence for the family at www.turnerfuneralchapels.com. Click on obituary/condolence.
The family will gather at Turner Funeral Chapel in Langley Monday evening from 5 to 6 p.m. to receive friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ketchum with Pastor Jim Landelius officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Bobby Crook, Brent Crook, Bing Crook, Chuck Crook, Norman Harchar, John Harchar, Mike Crook and Devin Crook. Burial is to follow at Military Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel of Langley.

HOMER GENE EARP
1934-2006
JAY - Homer Gene Earp, 72, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at his home in Jay, Okla.
Homer was born March 12, 1934 in the Rowe Community of Delaware County, Okla. to John Haskell Earp and Golda Pearl (Quick) Earp. He was married to Sally Ann Grantin at Miami, Okla. Homer was a resident of the Jay area all of his life and had lived at the current address for 30 years. He was a construction worker and also did concrete pipe work. Homer attended Jay First Assembly of God and was a member of AARP.
Survivors include his wife, Sally of the home; two sons, Rick Earp of South Lyon, Mich. and Terry Earp of Grove, Okla.; a daughter, Lori Martin and her husband, Robert of Jay; one step-son, Tony Schommer of Neenah, Wis.; two step-daughters, Christine Olsen and her husband, Mike of Neenah and Lisa Engel and her husband, Tim of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Juanita Stephens and her husband, Elzie of Jay and Pam Fields of Grove; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Curtis Earp.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, March 31, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Chapel, Jay. Interment will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

SALLY ANN EARP
1941-2006
JAY - Sally Ann Earp of Jay, Okla., died Sunday April 30, 2006 at her home in Jay. She was 64.
Sally was born October 8, 1941 to Robert and Evelyn (Reinhart) Grantin at Neenah, Wis. She worked at Guinn Nursing Home in Jay as a C.M.A. and also worked at Wal-Mart in Jay for 15 years as a cashier. Sally was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Jay. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Gene Earp on March 29.
Survivors include: five children, Terry Earp of Grove, Okla., Lori Martin and husband Robert of Jay, Tony Schommer of Neenah, Christine Olsen and husband Mike of Neenah, Lisa Engel and husband Tim of Marietta, Ga.; one stepson, Rick Earp of South Lyon, Mich.; one brother, George Grantin of Menesha, Wis.; one sister, Yvonne Kaphingst of Appleton,Wis.; nine grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday May 4, at the First Assembly of God Church in Jay, with Rev. Bill Goldner officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Jay. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay. Family and friends may send condolences by viewing obituaries at www.honoringmemories.com

WESLEY EARP
1926–2006
JAY - Wesley Earp, lifetime Jay, Okla. resident, passed away Monday, May 8, 2006 at his home following an extended illness. He was 80 years old.
Wesley was born February 3, 1926 in Jay, to Robert Lee Earp and Nellie (Abercrombie) Earp. He was a Forest Ranger for the State of Oklahoma. Wesley served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Topsy Assembly of God Church.
Wesley was united in marriage to Lou Vernia Earp on July 15, 1946 in Boise, Idaho. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2005.
His parents, one son, Wesley; two brothers, Roy and Bill; and three sisters, Nola, Bertha, Thelma; and one grandson, Chad McFarland also preceded him in death.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 11, at the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Rev. Chester Crittenden will officiate.
Viewing hours will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.
Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapel of Jay.

BRENDA JO HORTON ENGLISH
1958-2006
TULSA – Brenda Jo Horton English, 47, passed away early Monday morning, April 10, 2006, at her residence in Tulsa, Okla. Brenda was born on September 27, 1958, in Oxford, Miss., to Dr. Ed and Mary E. (Parks) Davidson.
Brenda was a loan officer with a mortgage company in Tulsa. She attended and graduated from Stillwater High School. Brenda loved going to the movies with her girls, working out and learning to fly.
Brenda leaves as surviving: her husband, Guy English of Tulsa; daughters, Lindsay Sykes; Dixie Horton, and Sjolin English, all of Tulsa; sons, Justin English and Cody English, also of Tulsa; parents, Dr. Ed and Mary Davidson of Stillwater; sisters, Debbie Myers and husband Dr. John Myers of Vinita, Sandy Lewis of Tucson, Ariz., Gail Hurd and husband Jud of Berthoud, Colo., and Vickie Craven and husband Jim of Stillwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 13, at 2 p.m., at the Moore Funeral Home Eastlawn Chapel in Tulsa. Rev. Bob Johns of the First United Methodist Church in Vinita will officiate.
Arrangements are under the dir3eection of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

SHIREEN ELAINE BROOKS
1949-2006
MIAMI – Shireen Elaine Brooks died at her home in Miami, Okla., on Tuesday, May 23, 2006. She was 56.
Shireen was born on August 5, 1949. She worked as a Captain’s Secretary for Los Angeles County Sheriff Unit in the Aerobureau out of Long Beach, Calif., before moving to Miami.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 26, at First Baptist Church in Miami.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 25, at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami.
Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.

BARBARA APPERSON LANGLEY MAYS
1940-2006
JOPLIN, Mo. - Barbara Apperson Langley Mays, age 65, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 13, 2006, following a long illness.
Barbara was born on November 17, 1940 in Neodesha, Kan., the daughter of the late Boyd and Faye Apperson. She was a member of the South Joplin Christian Church. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Welch State Bank. She married Jim Langley in 1959 at Edna, Kan., and he preceded her in death in 1981. She then married Bill Mays in 1983 at Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1999.
She is survived by: her two sons, Tim Langley and his wife Laketa and their three sons, Brady, Chad and Tanner of Grove, Okla., Bryan Langley and his wife Susie and their children Wes and Ashley of Miami, and Shelly Shipman of Norman, Okla.; one stepson, Lance Mays of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Marcum of Tyler, Texas and Sharon Snoddy of the state of Indiana; one brother, Jam Apperson of Coffeyville, Kan. Additional survivors include two great grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her brother Ross Apperson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday June 17, at South Joplin Christian Church. Reverend Jill Michel will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday at the Welch Cemetery. Those gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Wes Langley, Brady Langley, Tanner Langley, Chad Langley, Brad Shipman, and Brad Krouse.
The family will receive friends at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary from 6 -7 p.m. Friday evening.
The family has requested that contributions be made to the South Joplin Christian Church or the Ronald McDonald House in care of Mason–Woodard Mortuary.

SONJA CAROL TALBOT
1945-2006
JOPLIN, Mo. – Sonja Carol Talbot died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin. She was 61.
Born on June 9, 1945, she was a homemaker.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 16, at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Friday, at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home.

CHARLES BALDWIN
1919-2006
GROVE, Okla. - Charles “Charlie” Smith Baldwin of Grove, died Sunday July 2, 2006 at the Hillcrest Specialty Hospital at Tulsa, Okla. He was 87.
Charlie was born April 18, 1919 to William and Ida (Smith) Baldwin at Oblong, Ill. He graduated high school at Ira-Ann, Texas. He served in the Unites States Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the Philippines. He started his railroad career at Texas-Pacific Railroad and retired from Union Pacific Railroad at Coffeyville, Kan. as a General Superintendent. Charlie was married to his previous wife, Ruth Constance White Baldwin for over 51 years. In May of 1993 he married Helen Jo Turner Yelton Baldwin at the Washington Church in Rogers County. Charlie enjoyed to fish and do wood working. He was an Eagle Scout and loved jazz music. He had his own jazz band in college and directed the Boy Scout Band. He was a member of the American Legion and the First Baptist Church in Grove. He was preceded in death by: his parents; an infant brother, William Baldwin; and one sister, Helen Black.
Survivors include his wife Helen Jo Baldwin of Grove; four children, Karen Argo of Omaha, Neb., Cheryl Dixon and husband Gerald of Chattanooga, Tenn., Charles “Chuck” Baldwin, Jr. of Abilene, Texas, and William “Bill” F. Baldwin and wife Karen of Delaware, Okla.; three step-children, Shari Yelton Roebuck and husband Melvin of Nowata, Okla., Marci Yelton Postrach and husband Chris of Bartlesville, Okla. and David Turner Yelton of Trophy Club, Texas; three sisters, Mary Alice Baldwin of Lubbock, Texas, Margaret Satterfield of Frederick, Md., and Kay Doyle of Donnel, Texas; nine grandchildren, Charles F. Baldwin, William F. Baldwin, Josh Baldwin, Caleb Baldwin, Michelle D. Howell, Rachel D. Irwin, Jonathan Dixon, Timothy Dixon, and Darrell Scott Argo; one great grandson, Cael Austin Howell; five step-grandchildren, Holly Roebuck Nichols, William Yelton, Andrew Yelton, Patricia Postrach, and Melissa Postrach.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Wednesday July 5, at the First Baptist Church in Grove. Rev. James Wilder and Rev. Derrick Crawford officiated. Graveside services were at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Fairview Cemetery at Coffeyville, Kan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Children Home in Owasso, Okla. Services were under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
