MaBelle Clarice McCornack

A memorial will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2001, on the Jenkins Estate in Aloha for MaBelle Clarice McCornack, who died June 20 at age 69. Mrs. McCornack was born MaBelle Clarice Neketin on Oct. 8, 1931, in Harrisburg and moved to Banks in 1960. She was a self-employed bookkeeper. She married Jim McCornack in 1962; he died in 1995.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Cutlip, Debra Cheyne and Penny McCornack; son, Pat; father Stanton Culp; brothers Dick Culp, Bob Neketin and Gene Neketin; and three grandchildren.

Interment in Jenkins Estate. Remembrances to the Tualatin Valley Rhododendron Society. Arrangements by Aspen Funeral Alternatives in Albuquerque, N.M.

Annie Pearl Ogren

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Angel for Annie Pearl Ogren, who died July 2 at age 91. Mrs. Ogren was born Annie Pearl Plocek on April 4, 1910, in Lemmon, S.D. She was a homemaker and moved to Monitor in 1944, and then lived in Silverton and Canby before moving to Woodburn in 1998. She was a 50-year member of the church. In 1930, she married Oscar Gilbert Ogren; he died in 1987.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth; daughter, Verna Mae Porter; brothers, Charles Plocek and Clarence Plocek; sisters, Mary Patton and Mildred Fish; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Interment in Miller cemetery in Silverton. Remembrances to the church. Arrangements by Unger in Silverton.

Leonard Joseph Sabrowski

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, in Portland Foursquare Church for Leonard Joseph Sabrowski, who died July 5 at age 56. Mr. Sabrowski was born March 12, 1945, in Seward, Alaska. He attended high school in Tacoma and moved to Portland in the 1960s. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years until retiring last year. In 1974, he married Juanita Field.

Survivors include his wife; son, Tim; daughters, Shannon Richard, Amanda Sabrowski and Jenny Feuerborn; brother, James; and three grandchildren.

Interment in River View cemetery. Arrangements by Wilhelm.

Lois L. Salsbery

A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001, in Pilot Butte cemetery in Bend for Lois L. Salsbery, who died July 5 at age 84. Mrs. Salsbery was born Lois Tanner on May 16, 1917, in Bellvue, Colo., and was raised in Greeley, Colo. She lived in Bend for 34 years before moving to Sandy in 1987, and to St. Helens in 1997. She was a restaurant cook and then a food server for Bend High School and the Mt. Bachelor Ski Team and a volunteer driver for the Sandy Senior Center. In 1942, she married Sidney Cornford; they divorced. In 1964, she married Gene Salsbery; he died in 1976.

Survivors include her sons, Ron Cornford and D.K. Cornford; daughters, Verda Harding and Sara Edwards; stepdaughter, Nadine Bechtel; brother, Keith Tanner; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Norberto Lovio Sanchez

Norberto Lovio Sanchez died June 25, 2001, at age 61. Mr. Sanchez was born May 15, 1940, in Tucson, Ariz. He was a heavy-equipment operator in Nevada and held other jobs before moving to Beaverton from Tucson in about 1990. His wife, Mary Helen, died earlier.

Survivors include his sons, Jose "Joe," Arthur and Tino; daughter, Frances Sanchez; sister, Nynia Lovio; companion, Evelyn Bell; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

No service. Arrangements by Oregon Cremation Co.

John C. Schrecongost

John C. Schrecongost died June 14, 2001, at age 47. Mr. Schrecongost was born Sept. 4, 1953, in Boise. He worked for Albertson's in Boise and moved in 1988 to Portland, where he was senior buyer for the company's Oregon Division for the past 13 years. In 1974, he married Debra Rowe.

Survivors include his wife; son, Robert J.; sisters, Linda Bowden, Penny Campbell and Susan Hammond; and brother, Dennis.

Service held. Interment in Morris Hill cemetery in Boise. Remembrances to the American Heart Association. Arrangements by Summers Funeral Home in Boise.

Raymond Earl Sinclair

A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, in Skyline Memorial Gardens for Raymond Earl Sinclair, who died June 30 at age 88. Mr. Sinclair was born June 20, 1913, in Pollock,Mo. During World War II, he worked in the Portland shipyards and after the war was a maintenance worker for Southern Pacific Railroad for 29 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church.

Survivors include his nephew, Don; and sister-in-law, Ada.

Donna Charlene Smith

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, in St. Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul for Donna Charlene Smith, who died July 3 at age 72. Mrs. Smith was born Donna Charlene Riegle on Oct. 4, 1928, in Garden City, Kan., and was raised in Newberg. She graduated from Newberg High School and worked for the St. Paul branch of U.S. Bank for 26 years, starting as a teller and retiring in 1991 as bank manager. She was an executive board member of the St. Paul Rodeo and chairwoman of its ticket sales committee for 42 years. In 1950, she married William F. Smith; he died in 1989.

Survivors include her son, Bill C.; daughters, Cheri S. Nagler and Lisa Schwabe; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Interment in the church cemetery. Remembrances to the American Heart Association. Arrangements by Attrell's Newberg.

Leota L. Sundstrom

Leota L. Sundstrom died July 4, 2001, at age 84. Mrs. Sundstrom was born Leota L. Hoadley on Jan. 28, 1917, in Portland. She graduated from Roosevelt High School. She was a secretary for a labor union until retiring in 1980. She moved to Vancouver, Wash., in 1986. In 1935, she married Robert Sundstrom; he died in 1995.

Survivors include her sons, Gary and Jack; daughters, Mary Jo Taylor and Sally Kent; sister, Grace Whetstone; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Private service. Arrangements by Hustad Funeral Home.

Lucille Sutherland

A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2001, in the dining hall of St. Jude Care Center for Lucille Sutherland, who died July 2 at age 87. Mrs. Sutherland was born Lucille Amerson on Oct. 2, 1913, in Bismarck, N.D. She was a restaurant cook and lived most of her life in North Bend before moving to Portland in 1998. In 1973, she married Bill Sutherland; he died in 1998.

Survivors include her sons, Pat Main and Stanley Main; stepdaughter, Emy Hopson; stepson, Larry; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Glenn Earl Tucker

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, in Hillside Chapel for Glenn Earl Tucker, who died July 5 at age 75. Mr. Tucker was born Dec. 17, 1925, in McMinnville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He lived in Astoria from 1955 until 1974, when he moved to Oregon City. He was a game warden and peace officer for the Oregon State Police until retiring in 1980. In 1947, he married Jessie M. McNamar.

Survivors include his wife; son, Gerald E. "Jerry"; daughter, Jeanne M. Parkdale; sisters, Elfrita Keplinger and Edna Hulett; and two grandchildren.

Remembrances to the American Lung Association.

Elnora Verney

Elnora Verney died June 25, 2001, at age 77. Mrs. Verney was born Elnora Brundage on July 18, 1924, in Detroit, Mich. She moved to Milwaukie in 1956 and was an apartment manager for 13 years until retiring this past January. In 1950, she married Charles Verney; he died in 1993.

Survivors include her daughters, Pat Verney, Janet Barnes and Betty O'Brien; son, Ron; and three grandchildren.

Private service. Interment in Traverse City cemetery in Michigan. Arrangements by Oregon Cremation Co.

Dorothy E. Wells

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, in Portland Memorial Funeral Home for Dorothy E. Wells, who died July 3 at age 91. Mrs. Wells was born Dorothy E. Hoffmiller on Feb. 18, 1910, in Oregon City. She later lived in Portland and was a clerk for Phoenix Pharmacy until retiring in 1995. She held several offices in the Neighbors of Woodcraft.

Survivors include her niece, Mary Ellen Mason.

Interment in Portland Memorial Mausoleum. Remembrances to Woodmen of the World.
