Barbara Rae Montgomery

Barbara passed away in the afternoon hours of January 27, 2010 at her home in Brooks, OR at the age of 73. She was born to Theron and Doris Wise May 8, 1936 in McMinnville and graduated from Neah Kahni High in 1955. Barbara spent most of her adult life in the Willamette Valley, living in Salem for the past 22 years where she worked as a florist for Olson’s Florist.

Barbara was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed genealogy, temple work, flower arranging, sightseeing, traveling and making people laugh. She is survived by her spouse Lawrence; Daughter Lauree (Doug) McLain of Redland, Carree Clinton of Keizer, son Eric Clinton of Forest Grove, and daughter Angela Wanless of Milwaukie; 5 grand children, 3 great grand-children and brother Robert (Myrtle Ann) Wise of Aloha.

A Funeral Service is going to be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 862 45th Avenue NE, Salem. Interment will take place at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Odyssey Hospice of Salem, www.odsyhealth.com. Arrangements entrusted to Crown Memorial Center – Salem.

James Marshall Morris, III

James Marshall Morris, III May 11, 1921 – January 26, 2010 James (Jim) Marshall Morris III passed away on January 26th, 2010. He was born on May 11, 1921 and graduated from Grant High School and Oregon State University. Jim worked as a food technologist for Stayton Canning Company. He is known to have the largest railroad photograph collection in the world.

Jim is survived by his sons Jim and Robert Morris; daughter Marilyn Hopkins and 1 grandson. He is preceded in death by his wife Louise, who passed away to cancer in 2000. After Louise’s battle with cancer, Jim would request that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. A Memorial Service will be a Crown Memorial Center, 412 Lancaster Drive NE, Salem, OR. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Tualatin.

Randon “Randy” Bob Putman
July 31, 1952 ~ January 23, 2010

Randy Putman, 57, passed away on January 23, 2010. Randy was born in La Grande, Oregon on July 23, 1952.

Randy worked as a Construction Superintendent.

Randy is survived by his wife, Beth Putman; mother, Karma Rose Edington; and sisters, Kay Akers and Tanya Putman.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, January 31, 2010, at the Museum of The Oregon Territory at 211 Tumwater Drive in Oregon City.

John Roland Koch

John Roland Koch of Milwaukie, Oregon, passed away on January 23, 2010, at the age of 90. John was born in Merna, Nebraska to Andrew and Clara Jane (Dale) Koch on August 12, 1919. He was raised in the Eads, Colorado area and graduated from Eads High School in 1937. He later lived in Florence, Montana from 1945 until 1986, then moved to Vancouver, WA and then to Milwaukie, OR in 1991.

John joined the Navy in June of 1941 and served as an aviation mechanic until September of 1945. During his time in the service he married Bertha Helen (Lehto) on November 7, 1943 in Oakland, CA. John worked as a rural mail carrier in Florence, Montana for 25 years. He enjoyed traveling and working in his yard. He was a member of the USS Lexington C-V2 organization for 50 years.

John is survived by his wife and three daughters: Vivian Healy (Pat) of Milwaukie, OR, Judy Van Hoven (Kent) of Milwaukie, OR, and Barbara Faust (Charlie) of Springfield, OR, as well as five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time. Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center at the Milwaukie location.

Tammy Lynn Rader

Beaverton resident, Tammy Lynn Rader, 40, passed away on January 23, 2010. Tammy was born to Deane and Margarita Rader on May 13, 1969 in Vallejo, California. She attended Vallejo High School and Solano Community College in Cordelia, California. Tammy spent 3 years doing an apprenticeship with IBEW- International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, she worked for Orowheat for a few years and she was also a customer service representative for a Call Center. Tinkerbell was Tammy’s favorite icon, she loved watching movies and Perry Mason, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Tammy is survived by her husband Ray Rogerson; father Deane Rader; sister D’enne West and husband and son Michael and Matthew. She is preceded in death by her mother Margarita Rader. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Tualatin.

William “Cliff” Beardsley
March 28, 1916 ~ January 18, 2010

William “Cliff” Beardsley, 93, passed away on January 18, 2010 in Gresham, Oregon. Cliff was born in Wieser, Idaho on March 28, 1916. The youngest of 10 children, Cliff as a young boy moved to Oregon and grew up in the Clatskanie area. He graduated from Rainier High School this was because Clatskanie was not big enough to have a high school of their own.

Cliff proudly served his country in the Marines and was a sharpshooter, after the service he was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service and retired from Piedmont Station in 1973. Cliff married Lillian Jones around 1939 and they later adopted their son Arthur as a baby in 1948. Lillian later passed away in 1962. Cliff then married Leda Surface around 1964 and inherited her adopted daughter Ginny, Leda later passed away in 1992.

Cliff was an active member of the Rose City Church of the Nazarene in which he helped build. He loved all sports especially bowling and playing a little golf.

Cliff is survived by his son, Arthur Beardsley; daughter, Ginny Glaspey; 3 granddaughters, DNaydavina James, Lillian Bussey, and Alexandra Glaspey; and 1 grandson, Max Glaspey. He was preceded in death by his wives, Lillian Jones Beardsley and Leda Surface Beardsley.

A service with be announced at a later date.

Robert “Bob” A. Evenson

Bob passed away in the early morning hours of January 17th at his home in Keizer. He was born to Robert and Billie Evenson Aug. 22 1952 in Denver, CO. Bob grew up in the Salem area, graduating from McNary High School in 1970.

After graduation, Bob joined the US Marines and served for 3 years as a Lance Corporal. Returning from the military, he attended Chemeketa College where he studied welding and fabrication and later returning to study specialty building inspections. Bob owned and operated R & R Construction for many years and worked for Ivalor Realty/property Management group doing repairs and remodeling.

Bob loved Crater Lake, visiting the Oregon Coast and going to the Woodburn drag strip. He had a great interest in battleship books and was able to visit the USS Arizona Memorial and the USS Missouri in Hawaii. He was also an active member of the Keizer Elk’s.

Bob is survived by his longtime companion and love of his life, Joanne Foreman; son Ryan; step-children Robby and Lisa; several grandchildren; brother Paul; sister Beth and mother Billie. He also leaves behind his faithful dog of five years, Boomer. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Keizer Elks, 4250 Cherry Avenue NE, Keizer on January 23, at 2 PM. Memorial Contributions can be made in Bob’s memory to any US Veterans organization. Arrangements entrusted to Crown Memorial Center – Salem.

Eleanor May Dibala

Former Silverton resident Eleanor Dibala died in a Portland hospital on January 15, 2010 after suffering from pneumonia and Parkinson’s disease. Eleanor and her husband Peter moved from Silverton to the Roseburg area in 1978. After her husband’s death, Ellie moved back to Silverton in 2005. After heart surgery in 2009 she moved to Beaverton.

Eleanor “Ellie” May Dibala was born June 21, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts to Jack Tarr and Elizabeth Lloyd and died in Portland on Jan. 15, 2010. Ellie worked many years as a waitress and short order cook. Eleanor Tarr married Peter Dibala on May 1, 1952 and was married for 49 years when her husband died in 2001. The Dibala family moved to Oregon in 1968 following Peter Dibala’s retirement from the U.S. Navy.

Ellie is survived by her sons Peter Jr of Beaverton., Harold of Salem, Dennis of San Jose, CA, and her daughter Dorothy “Dottie” Dunn of Silverton. Brother Harold “Butch” Tarr of Lakeville, MA and 11 grandchildren; Sadie Vetter, Derek Dibala, Dale Amstutz, Erin Dibala, Dennis Dunn, Chelsea Dibala, Blake Dibala, Giana Dibala, step-grandchildren Gina Bergstrom, Brian Yearian, Kevin Yearian and step great-grandson Peyton Barney. Besides her husband Peter, Ellie was preceded in death by siblings David, John, Rita, Alma, and Gladys who died as an infant and daughter Christina who died as an infant.

A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Beaverton. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center - Tualatin.
