Evelyn Bashaw Gould

Evelyn Bashaw Gould, 94, of Medford, died Sunday (March 11, 2001) at Three Fountains Nursing Center. No service is planned. Interment will be in Mulvane, Kan.

She was born Jan. 26, 1907, in Chicago, the daughter of Herbert and Irene Bashaw. On Nov. 25, 1944, in San Francisco, she married Richard Delay Gould, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Gould was a teacher. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1990 from Arizona.

Survivors include a niece, Sharon Jackson, Haysville, Kan.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral, Medford.

Clinton Heizer

The graveside service for Clinton Heizer will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Dan McCall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses will officiate.

Mr. Heizer, 87, of Medford, died Monday (March 12, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 5, 1913, in Garden Valley, Idaho, a son of Roscoe and Susan (Hedden) Heizer. On Jan. 7, 1950, in Vallejo, Calif., he married Doris Simcox, who died in 1996. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1977 from Vallejo, Calif.

Mr. Heizer worked in maintenance and construction for C & H Sugar in Crockett, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Armed Forces on a troop transport ship during World War II.

Mr. Heizer was an avid fisherman, apple orchardist, and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include two sons, Clifford Heizer, Frederick, Colo., and Bill Brooks, Russellville, Ky.; three daughters, Linda Stocklin, Omaha, Neb., and Cathy Heizer-Winn, San Diego, and Sandy Schoonover, Yuba City, Calif.; one brother; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ross; and eight brothers and sisters.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

Mary Lorene Brown

Mary Lorene Brown, 88, of Ashland, died Monday (March 12, 2001) at Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland, following a long illness. A private gathering was held Wednesday in Eagle Point. Private interment will be in Longmont, Colo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Oregon Chapter, 1311 N.W. 21st Ave., Portland, OR 97209.

She was born July 28, 1912, in Milliken, Colo., the daughter of Joseph and Cora Lee. She married Rolland A. Brown, who died in 1991.

Mrs. Brown was active in the Catholic Church in Longmont, Colo. She moved to the Rogue Valley four years ago from Fresno, Calif.

Survivors include two sons, Roger, Eagle Point, and Rolland, Fresno, Calif.; a daughter, Rolene Dorcik, Fairfield, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives and Crematory.

Jerry David Shinkle

The funeral service for Jerry David Shinkle will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Table Rock Fellowship in Medford. Pastor Tom Sabens will officiate. A graveside service will follow at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the local ASA Girl’s Softball.

Mr. Shinkle, 39, of Central Point, died Tuesday (March 13, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 16, 1961, in Myrtle Point. He attended Central Point schools, graduating from Crater High School in 1980. In 1985, in Central Point, he married Fawn Elizabeth Harper, who survives.

Mr. Shinkle worked at Safeway Stores in Medford, Ashland and Grants Pass from 1979 to 1994. From 1995 to 2000 he was employed at Williams Bakery in Medford. Most recently, he was a distributor for Pepperidge Farms.

He coached girls softball in Medford and Central Point.

Mr. Shinkle enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Josh, Central Point; two daughters, Reighly and Daysha Shinkle, both Central Point; his parents, Jerry and Sally Shinkle, Central Point; two brothers, Jim, Columbia City, and Mark, San Diego; an adopted brother, Tom, Central Point; a sister, Lois Engles, Medford; and his grandmother, Marie Shields, Coos Bay.

Florence Mae Nelson

Florence Mae Nelson, 90, of Medford, died Saturday (March 10, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center. Memorial plans are pending.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Home Endowment Committee, c/o Adarel Chapter, 3248 Lone Pine Road, Medford, OR 97504, or Reames Chapter, 830 Bennett Ave., Suite A, Medford, OR 97504.

She was born March 2, 1911, in Sacramento, Calif. In February 1971, she married Charles Nelson, who survives.

The Nelsons moved to Lake Tahoe, where they ran a motel on the South Shore.

Mrs. Nelson was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star and served first as worthy matron of her home chapter, and then as deputy grand matron for her district before moving to the Rogue Valley in 1978. In Oregon she continued her work with the Order of the Eastern Star as worthy matron of both Adarel Chapter and Reames Chapter, royal matron of Roxy Ann Court Order of the Amaranth, and high priestess of nativity shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was also a member of Zuleima Temple Daughters of the Nile.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Jack Hall, Federal Way, Wash.

Nancy Lorraine Page

The memorial service for Nancy Lorraine Page will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Church in Grants Pass.

Nancy Page, 48, of Cave Junction, died Wednesday (March 14, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Arrangements: Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives.

Michael Cameron Teaters

The memorial service for Michael Cameron Teaters will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Central Valley Chapel.

Mr. Teaters, 44, of Medford, died Monday (March 12, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Crater High School Baseball Department, 451 N. Second St., Central Point, OR 97502, or the Transverse Myelitis Association, 1787 Sutter Parkway, Powell, OH 43065.

He was born May 3, 1956, in Long Beach, Calif., the son of Buddy Teaters and Marylss Wellington. He attended Crater High School. On Dec. 30, 1977, in Fullerton, Calif., he married Denise Lee, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1994 from Orange County, Calif.

Mr. Teaters was an electronic inspector for Rockwell International in Anaheim, Calif.

He was involved with the Central Point Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball, and was a supporter of Crater High football and baseball.

Mr. Teaters enjoyed fishing, rafting the Rogue, and riding motorcycles.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Sean, Central Point, a daughter, Kimberly, Central Point; his father, Bud Teaters, Banning, Calif.; his mother and stepfather, Marylss Wellington and Don Wentworth, Ashland; a brother, Tim, Pleasanton, Calif.; and his paternal grandmother, Ovia McDevitt, Medford.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation and Funeral Care, Central Point.

Marion N. Flowers

Marion N. Flowers, 78, of Medford, died Sunday (March 11, 2001) at her home. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born July 7, 1922, in Ajo, Ariz., the daughter of Elbert D. and Carita L. (Blythe) Nichols. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1996 from San Diego, where she had lived for 35 years.

Mrs. Flowers was a member of the Rogue Valley Country Club. She also belonged to various bridge groups in the Rogue Valley.

Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Harper, Medford, and Teri Martin, Central Point; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements: Neptune Society of Southern Oregon.
