Melissa Ann Strother
Melissa Ann Strother, infant daughter of Michael J. and Angela M. Strother of Medford, died Nov. 24, 2000, in Pensacola, Fla. The funeral was held Nov. 28 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Casserley officiated.
She was born Nov. 17, 2000, in Pensacola, Fla.
Survivors include her parents, Angela M. And Michael J. Strother, Medford; and two sisters, Mary E. and Amanda M. Strother, both Medford. She was preceded in death by two grandmothers, Sheila Strother and Mary H. Sanders.

Ruby Lenore Boyd Kiger
Ruby Lenore Boyd Kiger, 82, of Portland, formerly of Ashland, died Dec. 20, 2000, at a Portland medical center. Private inurnment will be at Mt. Laki Cemetery in Klamath Falls.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
She was born Feb. 13, 1918, in Drain, a daughter of Hollis H. Boyd and Nellie May Stewart. On Jan. 29, 1936, in Roseburg, she married Kenneth Kiger, who died in 1975. The couple raised their family on a farm along the Lost River near Merrill.
Mrs. Boyd Kiger was a homemaker. She attended high school in John Day and was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
She lived in Klamath Falls for 39 years, Ashland for 25 years and in Portland for the last six months.
Mrs. Boyd Kiger is survived by a son, Hollis C. Kiger, Keno; two daughters, Fran C. McGhee, Sandpoint, Idaho, and Georgia M. Standley, Portland; four sisters, Lucille McClure, Klamath Falls, Christine Carnegie, Gold Hill, Naomi Young, Lake Oswego, and Marilyn Hershberger, Veneta; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mary Ellen Hocevar
Mary Ellen Hocevar, 88, died Friday (Dec. 29, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mrs. Hocevar was born Mary Michaels on Feb. 5, 1912, in Clairton, Penn.
On July 19, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, she married Joseph Frank Hocevar, who preceded her in death in 1967.
She moved to the Rogue Valley from Youngtown, Ariz., in 1997.
Mrs. Hocevar was a clerk at the Standard Drug Store in Cleveland, Ohio, for 20 years. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Arizona.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Fisher, Medford; a brother, James Michaels, California; two sisters, Marie Kendill, Medford, and Dorothy Fallon, Cleveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Clarence Chamberlain Jr.
The memorial service for Clarence Edward Chamberlain Jr. will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Litwiller-Simonsen Chapel in Ashland. The Rev. Don Baker will officiate.
Mr. Chamberlain, 89, died Friday (Dec. 29, 2000) at the Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland.
He was born June 6, 1911, in Riley, Kan., a son of Clarence Edward Chamberlain Sr. and Laura Ellen Popejoy.
Mr. Chamberlain served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1945. He moved to Oregon in 1943, and settled in Ashland in 1946. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and the Elks Club in Ashland.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille, Ashland; and two sons, Kent Chamberlain, Ashland, and James Chamberlain, Eagan, Minn.

Bobby Alfred Schroeder
Bobby Alfred Schroeder, 73, of Medford, died Friday (Dec. 29, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center following surgery.
A private service was held and a memorial service will be held later in the spring. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.
He was born May 14, 1927, a son of Alfred William and Cora Lutz Schroeder in Center, Colo. On Jan. 1, 1947, in Reno, Nev., he married Joy E. Schroeder, who died July 13, 2000.
Mr. Schroeder was a truck driver in California. After his parents’ death, he and his wife continued to farm on the family ranch on Coal Mine Road.
He serviced in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He enjoyed golf and ranching.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Schroeder, Central Point, and Michael Schroeder, Bremerton, Wash.; a daughter, Lana Joy Hawkins, Medford; a sister, Gayleen Packwood, Phoenix; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marva; and a brother, Keith.

Corrine Helen Colver
Corrine Helen Colver, 83, of Medford, died Tuesday (Dec. 26, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private cryptside service was held Thursday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 449 S. Ivy, Medford, OR 97501.
She was born Corrine Crawford on June 23, 1917, in Klamath Falls. On June 16, 1938, in Medford, she married Harold Clifford Colver, who died in 1989.
Mrs. Colver was a homemaker. She lived in the Rogue Valley most of her life.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford.
Survivors include a son, Rick, Yakima, Wash.; three grandsons; and one great-grandchild.

Judy Lee Snider
The memorial service for Judy Lee Snider will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Juanipero Way in Medford.
Mrs. Snider, 60, of Medford, died Wednesday (Dec. 27, 2000) at her home.
She was born Judy Dastrup on Nov. 17, 1940, in Murray, Utah. On June 3, 1978, in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., she married Clark B. Snider, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1978 from South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
Mrs. Snider was a waitress for several years.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mrs. Snider enjoyed camping, cooking, sewing, and especially watching sporting events with her grandchildren.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four sons, Joe K. Denney and Shawn D. Denney, both Medford, Dana L. Denney, Eugene, and Derek S. Snider, Bonners Ferry, Idaho; three daughters, Belinda R. Denney, Medford, Robin Paris, Reno, Nev., and Noella Erickson, Stockton, Calif.; her mother, Dean E. Dastrup, Sunnyvale, Calif.; two sisters, Kathie R. Hawkins, Sunnyvale, Calif., and MarDean Dastrup, Amsterdam, Holland; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Joel Keith Dastrup; and a brother, Jared Keith Dastrup.
Friends may pay their respects from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Bellingham and Arnold Lane, Medford.
Margaret Hazel White
Margaret Hazel White, 78, of Talent, died Tuesday (Dec. 26, 2000) at her home. A memorial service will be held at Missionary Baptist Church in Coalgate, Okla. Inurnment will be in Coalgate Cemetery in Oklahoma.
She was born March 30, 1922, in Breckenridge, Texas. In 1956, in Coalgate, Okla., she married Maurice White, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. White was a homemaker. She lived in the Rogue Valley from 1956-1964, when she moved to Coalgate, Okla. She returned to the Rogue Valley in 1990.
She was a member of the Lozier Lane Baptist Church.
Mrs. White enjoyed fishing, quilting and teaching Sunday School.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Humphrey, Jacksonville; two sons, J.C. Daniels Jr., Phoenix, and Jerry Daniels, Pampa, Texas; a brother, Donald Blackmon, Haileyville, Okla.; three sisters, Ruth Hogan and Bertha Gatlin, both Grandbury, Texas, and Geneva Lackey, Coalgate, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, J.C. Daniels Sr.; her second husband, Maurice White; a sister, Inez Littlefield; and a brother, Leroy Blackmon.
