Nicholaus Orion Walch

The memorial service for Nicholaus Orion Walch will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland. The Rev. Scott Dalgarno will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to any environmental or nature organization.

Mr. Walch, 20, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Dec. 5, 2000) at Ashland Community Hospital.

He was born Jan. 9, 1980, in Ashland, a son of Willard and Christina (Woods) Walch.

He attended Ashland schools and enjoyed culinary arts, music, traveling, and nature.

Survivors include his parents; a sister, Danielle Walch, Seattle, Wash.; and grandparents Willard and Jodie Walch, Eagle Point. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marcus and Erma Woods.

Friends may pay their respects from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

Robert James King

The memorial service for Robert James King will be at 11 a.m. today at West Main Church of Christ. Pastor Stan Johnson will officiate.

Mr. King, 57, of O’Brien, died Tuesday (Dec. 5, 2000) at his son’s home in Central Point.

He was born Feb. 14, 1943, in Williston, N.D., a son of Robert and Mildred King. He graduated from Salem High School. On June 18, 1965, in Salem, he married Marilyn Arthur, who survives. He moved to White City in 1976 from Salem.

Mr. King was a diesel mechanic for F.V. Martin Trucking in White City for 15 years, and for Covered Bridge Construction in Rogue River for two years. He lived in White City from 1976-1988, when he moved to O’Brien.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. King enjoyed bowling, hunting, the ocean and four-wheeling.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Kerry, Central Point, and John W. and Robert E., both Medford; two daughters, Angelia King, Medford, and Robbin King, Fort Wayne, Ind.; his mother, Mildred King, Salem; two sisters, Kathi Lehmann, Salem, and Susanne Forman, Scotts Mills; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Louis.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation and Funeral Care, Central Point.

Clyde C. LaFever

The memorial service for Clyde C. LaFever will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Medford Friends Church. Pastor Mark Burton will officiate.

Mr. LaFever, 86, of Medford, died Monday (Dec. 4, 2000) at a foster care home in Central Point.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Oregon Humane Society, 2910 Table Rock Road, Medford, OR 97501, or the Animal Care and Control Center, 5595 S. Pacific Highway, Phoenix, OR 97535.

He was born May 5, 1914, in Sammamish, Wash., a son of George and Philena (Caron) LaFever. He graduated from Kelso, Wash., High School in 1933. On Aug. 13, 1934, in Vancouver, Wash., he married Grace Sparling, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1955 from Kelso.

Mr. LaFever worked in lumber mills, retiring as head saw filer from Medco in 1977.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Margie June Cranston, Central Point, and LaVonne Hildwein, Grants Pass; a sister, June Ham, Kelso; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry, Lloyd, George and Roy; and a sister, Doris Harlan.

Reuel Austin Myers

The memorial service for Reuel Austin Myers will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Chaplain Paul Hagedorn of Providence Hospice will officiate. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Myers, 90, of Medford, died Sunday (Dec. 3, 2000) at his home.

He was born Feb. 9, 1910, in Oklahoma City, a son of David and Sadie Myers. In 1934, in Oklahoma City, he married Mildred Keeler, who died in 1989.

Mr. Myers was an aircraft mechanic and later an aircraft inspector with United Airlines. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1963 from Redwood City, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Myers was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1168 and the International Association of Machinists.

He enjoyed music, hi-fi stereos and restoring old cars.

Survivors include a daughter, Rue Jean Massing, Redwood City; and two grandchildren. A brother, Eugene, preceded him in death.

Edwin Lyle LaFleur

The memorial service for Edwin Lyle LaFleur will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Stan Johnson of the Church of Christ will officiate.

Mr. LaFleur, 79, of Grants Pass, died Monday (Dec. 4, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 42 N. Front St., Medford, OR 97501, or Providence Community Health Foundation, Hospice, 1180 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

He was born June 16, 1921, in Wabeno, Wis., a son of Daniel and Dora LaFleur. He lived in Klamath Falls from 1945 to 1955, when he moved to Grants Pass.

Mr. LaFleur worked for Rogue Valley Plywood, which became Boise Cascade in 1962. He helped build the mill.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. LaFleur was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Grants Pass Elks Club, and the Red Arrow Club 32nd Division in Milwaukee.

Survivors include two nieces, Kathie Bray, Eagle Point, and Mary Alvarez, Phoenix. He was preceded in death by his wife, Letha.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

B.H. ‘Ben’ Hart

The memorial service for B.H. "Ben" Hart will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lodi Avenue Baptist Church in Lodi, Calif. A local service will be held later at Grace Baptist Church in Rogue River.

Mr. Hart, 78, of Rogue River, died Sunday (Dec. 3, 2000) at his home.

He was born June 10, 1922, in Cloud Chief, Okla. On Jan. 26, 1946, in Davenport, Iowa, he married Hazel Grimm, who survives.

Mr. Hart was a tire man with Les Calkins Trucking in Lodi, retiring in 1993. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1995 from Lodi.

During World War II, he served as a medic in Europe.

Mr. Hart was a member of the Lodi Avenue Baptist Church for many years. In Rogue River, he was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and fishing.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanine Felker, Rogue River, and Jerris Austin, Lodi; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Timothy Ernest Bishop

Timothy Ernest Bishop, 41, of Medford, died Nov. 30, 2000, at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. A private service will be held later.

Memorial contributions may be made to ACCESS Inc. — Food Share, P.O. Box 4666, Medford, OR 97501.

He was born Feb. 11, 1959, in Medford, and lived in the Rogue Valley all his life.

Mr. Bishop was a former construction worker. He was a member of Labor Union 1400. Mr. Bishop was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, camping and fishing.

Survivors include his stepmother, Maxine Bishop, Burns; a brother, Larry Willis, Gold Hill; stepbrothers Mike and Duke, both White City, David, Klamath Falls, and Richard, Burns; two sisters, Karen Bishop, White City, and Jean Shelton, Palm Springs, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest J. Bishop and Blossom Nadine (Jarry) Herring.
