Barbara Lee Foster

The funeral for Barbara Lee Foster will be at 1 p.m. today at Rogue Valley Christian Church. Pastor Dale Meador of Bear Creek Church will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Ms. Foster, 66, of Medford, died Saturday (Nov. 25, 2000) at Northridge Center.

She was born Jan. 1, 1934, in Medford, a daughter of Gracie and Virgil Swanson.

Ms. Foster worked for US West for 17 years, retiring in 1996. She lived in the Rogue Valley all her life.

She played the piano, and enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk with her aunt Cora, and listening to music with her cousin and caregiver, Bette Eppinger.

Survivors include two sons, Robert D. Johnson, Medford, and Randy W. Johnson, Milwaukie; a daughter, Kathy Spano, Medford; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Ronald Johnson.

Edward J. Marcoulier

The memorial service for Edward J. Marcoulier will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Applegate Community Church. Pastor Jason Burns will officiate.

Mr. Marcoulier, 77, of Applegate, died Saturday (Nov. 25, 2000) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Creekside Dialysis, Rogue Valley Dialysis Patient Trust, 2868 Creekside Circle, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born Jan. 8, 1923, in Warroad, Minn. On Feb. 6, 1945, in Greenbush, Minn., he married Wilma Erickson, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 38 years ago from Bend.

Mr. Marcoulier was the Applegate District foreman for the Jackson County Public Roads Department, retiring in 1985. As a young man he helped build the Alaskan Highway.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Marcoulier enjoyed hunting, woodworking, dancing, and camping during winters in Arizona.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Richard, Applegate, Peter, Yachats, Roger, Waldport, and Gregory, Seattle; four daughters, Barbara Barnhill, Talent, Mary Lumsden, Applegate, Jan Willis, Grants Pass, and Laurel Alexander, Medford; two brothers, Paul, San Diego, and Felix, Bend; a sister, Beatrice McCloud, in Texas; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Cel Henderson, in 1995; and a brother, Bill, in 1997.

Loren Lewis ‘Doc’ Elliott

The memorial service for Loren Lewis "Doc" Elliott will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at 2121 Old Green Springs Highway, Ashland.

Mr. Elliott, 60, of Ashland, died Nov. 18, 2000, at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 18, 1940, in Los Angeles, a son of Don and Jerry (Tucker) Elliott. On Sept. 28, 1975, in Reno, Nev., he married Floramay Bonnett, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 12 years ago from California.

Mr. Elliott worked in construction, building lumber mills.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Tim, Stephen and Terry Elliott, all Redding, Calif., and Michael Adams, Eureka, Calif.; a daughter, Tina Clark, Healdsburg, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation and Funeral Care, Central Point.

Darrel LeRoy Sanné

The memorial service for Darrel LeRoy Sanné will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Applegate Christian Fellowship in Ruch. His son, Pastor Jon Sanné of Olympia, Wash., will officiate.

Mr. Sanné, 59, of Medford, died Saturday (Nov. 25, 2000) of cancer.

He was born Nov. 8, 1941, in San Francisco, Calif., a son of Norbert D. And Margaret Madeline (Ball) Sanné. He graduated from North Bend High School in 1960 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. In 1968, he married Dorene Alice Huffman, who survives.

While in the Air Force, he was trained in logistics and transferred to the Azores Islands. While stationed there, he participated in a religious retreat to Europe, where he traveled to Spain, France, Germany and Switzerland.

In 1964, after finishing his military tour, he moved to Portland, where he worked for Tandy Corporation and was transferred to the Seattle area.

In 1968, he left Tandy, and accepted a position as a sales manager with Penney’s department store in Eugene. In 1969, he began working with Weisfield’s Jewelers, managing stores in Oregon and Washington over the next several years.

Mr. Sanné moved to Medford in 1974, where he worked for the Jackson County Parks Department, managing the equipment service division for more than five years. For the past seven years, he was the manager of a storage facility in Medford.

He was a member of the Applegate Christian Fellowship in Ruch.

Mr. Sanné enjoyed photography, scuba diving, motorcycles and camping.

Survivors include his former wife, Dorene, Klamath Falls; a son, Jon, Olympia, Wash.; his father, Norbert, North Bend; a twin brother, Don, North Bend; and three grandchildren.

Mark Leland Gilbert

The memorial service for Mark Leland Gilbert will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Brookings Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Gilbert, 47, of Brookings, formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Friday (Nov. 24, 2000) at his home, of cancer.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brookings Presbyterian Church, 540 Pacific Ave., Brookings, OR 97415.

He was born Nov. 6, 1953, in Salem, a son of Gilbert Leland and June Rose (King) Gilbert. He was raised and educated in Coos Bay and the Rogue Valley and graduated from Eagle Point High School. On Aug. 28, 1993, in Coos Bay, he married Glenda Smith, who survives.

Mr. Gilbert worked in the fisheries and played music. In Brookings, he was a tanker truck driver for Colvin Transport Company.

He was a member of Brookings Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Gilbert enjoyed his family, playing music and working with guns.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Andrew and Luke, both Brookings; three brothers, Phil and Jeff, both Trail, and Chris, Eagle Point; and two sisters, Melanie Chappell, Trail, and Jodie Lilya, Shady Cove. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements: Scantlin’s Brookings Mortuary and Chapel, Brookings.

Donna May Edwards

The funeral and graveside service for Donna May Edwards will be at 1 p.m. today at Redmond Memorial Chapel. Pastor Neil Mason will officiate.

Mrs. Edwards, 77, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Nov. 22, 2000) in Central Point.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Donna Barber on Feb. 25, 1923, in Rapid City, S.D. On July 21, 1938, in Payette, Idaho, she married Lester D. Edwards, who died in 1991.

Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Redmond.

Survivors include two sons, Dave, Flagstaff, Ariz., and Michael, Redmond; two daughters, JoAnn Silviera, White City, and Beverly Walther, Gold Hill; a sister, Norma, Payette, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis.

Arrangements: Redmond Memorial Chapel.

Robert O. Weaver

The memorial service for Robert O. Weaver will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Ronald Crouse of Central Point Masonic Lodge No. 135 will officiate.

Mr. Weaver, of Central Point, died Nov. 10, 2000, in California.

He was a native of Geona, Ill. He later moved to Sacramento, Calif., where he graduated from Sacramento High School in 1935. On Oct. 7, 2000, he attended his 65th high school reunion.

Mr. Weaver was a retiree from the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco.

He served in the Merchant Marines from 1937 to 1945.

Mr. Weaver was a 33rd-degree Mason and attended meetings in Gold Hill.

Survivors include a daughter, Florence E. Weaver, Carmichael, Calif.; a son, Robert O. II, Gold Hill; a brother, Larry Larson, Navajo, Calif.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Edith.
