Molly Jean Carnegie

Molly Jean Carnegie, 67, of Talent, died Monday (Oct. 23, 2000) at her home. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Southern Oregon Humane Society, 2910 Table Rock Road, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born on Feb. 10, 1933, in Seattle. She moved to the Rogue Valley four years ago.

Mrs. Carnegie worked as an office manager with Hi-Tech Computers.

She enjoyed birds, butterflies, gardening and reading.

Survivors include a son, Michael George, Bend; a brother, Mike Carnegie, Seattle; and one grandson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Wills in 1998, a son, Kevin George in 1984; and her ex-husband, David George, 1978.

W. Henry Peck

The funeral for W. Henry Peck will be at 1 p.m. Friday, at the Litwiller-Simonsen Chapel, Ashland. A family friend, Andy Green, will officiate.

Mr. Peck, 96, of Medford, died Sunday (Oct. 22) at his home.

He was born on Nov. 7, 1903, in Albany, N.Y. He moved to Oregon in 1940 from Paterson, N.J.

Mr. Peck was a pastor at churches in several states, and was a missionary in the hills of Kentucky. He built and was pastor at churches in Oregon, at the Triangle Lake and Melrose regions. He was the radio Bible teacher on "The Evening Gospel Hour" in Southern Oregon for 25 years.

He retired 20 years ago and ministered to senior citizens, especially to those in care centers. He also had a gospel tape ministry.

Survivors include his wife, Jean, two sons, Edward, Tampa Fla., and Daryl, Seattle; a daughter, Cheryl Peck, Eugene; and several grandchildren.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.

Roger Charles Jones

Roger Charles Jones, 61, of White City, died Sunday (Oct. 15, 2000) at his home. No services are planned. Inurnment will be in Santa Cruz Memorial Park, in Santa Cruz, Calif.

He was born on May 8, 1939, in Los Angeles. He lived in the Rogue Valley off and on for several years, moving from California.

Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1960.

He worked as a technician in the electronics field.

Survivors include a son, Casey C., Petaluma, Calif.; a step-daughter, Megan Bowen, Santa Cruz, Calif.; three brothers, Gary, Santa Cruz, Richard Pendleton, Brookings, and Phillip, Maryland; and two grandchildren.

Arrangements Memory gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Donna Wilene Hunter

Donna Wilene Hunter, 68, of Central Point, died Monday (Oct. 23, 2000) at her home. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rogue Valley Health Foundation-Hospice, 2650 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford, OR 97504 or Providence Hospice, 1180 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

Mrs. Hunter was born on June 1, 1932, in Potlatch, Idaho, a daughter of Donald and Elva Penwell. She lived most of her life in the Rogue Valley. In 1965 in Reno, she married Donald Thomas Hunter, who died Oct. 21, 1991.

She and her husband owned and operated D & D Radiator.

Survivors include her parents, Don and Elva Penwell, Medford; three sons, John, Monty and Tom Bruce, all of Medford; a daughter, Sheila Crittenden, Central Point; a brother, Monte Penwell, Medford; a sister, Irma Penwell, Portland; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Linda Kay Semm

The informal service for Linda Kay Semm (Budreau) will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Buell Chapel, 320 N. Sixth Street, Springfield. Pastor Steve Singleton will officiate. Her ashes will be scattered by her family along the McKenzie River.

Mrs. Semm, 50, of Palmer, Alaska, died Wednesday (Oct. 18, 2000) in Palmer.

She was born Linda Kay Budreau on July 24, 1950, in Medford. On Dec. 31, 1979, in Gold Hill, she married Larry Allen Semm, who survives. She lived in Medford until 1988.

Mrs. Semm worked at a variety of jobs.

She enjoyed entertaining her family, camping, traveling the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Shirley Budreau in Oregon, two daughters, Rebecca Colley, in Oregon, and Krista Eanes, in Georgia; a son Mark, North Dakota; two sisters, Rosalyn Arbuckle, and Michelle Wickersheim; two brothers, David and Paul Budreau, all of Ore.; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jason Roberts, and her father, Russell Budreau.

‘Gerri’ Phyllis Ross

The Requiem Eucharist service for "Gerri" Phyllis Ross will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Medford. The Rev. Charles Christopher of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will officiate. Private cryptside ceremonies will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mrs. Ross, 77, of Medford, died Friday (Oct. 20, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Medford Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 1172, Medford, OR 97501 or St. Vincent DePaul Society, P.O. Box 1663, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Gerri Furth on Nov. 21, 1922, in Northfield, Minn. On Dec. 12, 1941, in Aberdeen, Wash., she married Bud Ross, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1978 from Hawaii.

Mrs. Ross worked as a bookkeeper for Manpower Temporary Agency in Hawaii and as financial secretary for St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Medford until her retirement.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Reno, Nev., and a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Medford.

Mrs. Ross enjoyed aerobics, ballroom dancing, and classical music, especially opera.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Gordon M., Reno; a daughter, Jeri F. Vigoren, Reno; four brothers, her twin, Gerald, and Donald Furth, both of Elma, Wash., Raymond and William, both of Aberdeen, Wash.; four sisters, Vera Fantozzi and Marguerite Krantz, both of Redmond, Wash., Mary Schmidtke, Hoquiam, Wash., and Elizabeth Goeden, Duluth, Minn.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Delphis L. LeBlanc

The memorial service for Delphis L. LeBlanc will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church, Medford. Pastor Jim Berglund of Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate.

Mr. LeBlanc, 78, of Medford, died Saturday (Oct. 21, 2000) at his home.

He was born on June 28, 1922, in Ashland, a son of Alfred and Zella (Dubell) LeBlanc. On June 1, 1946, in Canyonville, he married Coleen Willhoit, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1963 from Roseburg.

Mr. LeBlanc served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was aboard the USS Buck (DD420) when it was torpedoed and sunk. Of 380 men on board, 88 survived. He received a Purple Heart for injuries he suffered while saving the lives of his fellow shipmates. He was one of the last remaining survivors. He also served aboard the destroyer USS Ingraham, which was the lead destroyer when Japan was bombed. He received many awards and citations.

He worked as a labor foreman for Todd Building Company of Roseburg for 21 years. He also worked in the timber and lumber industry.

Mr. LeBlanc was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and worked with children.

He enjoyed photographing wildflowers, rock collecting, beachcombing and nature.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Adial, Winston; a daughter, Sandy Robinson, Canyonville; two sisters, Lola Blansett, Gladstone, and Laura Gray, Canyonville; a brother, Dale, Medford; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Naylor.
