Charlotte Elaine Fowler

The memorial service for Charlotte Elaine Fowler will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Applegate Community Church. Pastor Kurt Krowel will officiate.

Mrs. Fowler, 70, of Applegate, died Thursday (July 20, 2000) in Central Point.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 691 Murphy Road, Suite 236, Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Feb. 24, 1930, in Paisley, a daughter of Charles and Pauline (Cooper) Pike.

On Sept. 10, 1947, in Lakeview, she married Vernon P. Fowler, who died in 1993. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1948.

Mrs. Fowler was active in Home Extension and Bible studies.

She enjoyed square dancing, making dolls and horseback riding.

Survivors include three sons, Vernon "Gene, " Prospect, George, Applegate, and David, Craig, Alaska.; two sisters, Ellen Clark, Jacksonville, and LaVerne Parnell, Sutherlin; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Owsley; and a brother, George Pike.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Juanita Ala Silver

The funeral for Juanita Ala Silver will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Christian Church of Ashland. Bob Friend will officiate. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland.

Mrs. Silver, 88, of Ashland, died Thursday (July 20, 2000) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Church of Ashland, 318 B St., Ashland, OR, 97520 or to the Ashland Library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland, OR 97520.

She was born Dec. 20, 1911, in Arrow, to Ralph Osborne Reigel and Edith Jennie (Roberts) Reigel. In 1924, her family moved to Ashland, where she attended Ashland schools.

On June 22, 1929 in Ashland, she married Leland R. Silver, who preceded her in death on June 6, 1971.

For 32 years, Mrs. Silver worked as a fruit packer for Harry and David. She attended the Christian Church of Ashland, where she was a member of the choir. She loved animals, especially her cats and dogs, and reading.

Survivors include two daughters, Catherine (Kitty) Ellis, Ashland, and Juanita (Ala) Dailey, Sublimity; four sons, Leland, of Lebanon, Harold, of Medford, Ted, of Salem, and Donald, of McMinnville; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Clifford, in 1939, and two sisters and three brothers.

Friends may pay their respects from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, 1811 Ashland St., Ashland.

Stuart Charles Reeves

The funeral for Stuart Charles Reeves will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, Medford. Father Anthony of Sacred Heart Church will officiate.

Mr. Reeves, 86, of Talent, died Friday (July 21, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Committed Alliance to Strays (C.A.T.S.), P.O. Box 56, Medford, OR 97501-0004.

Mr. Reeves was born July 28, 1913, in Portland, a son of Charles and Pearl Reeves. He served in the U.S. Army from 1932 to 1937. A retired switchman for Southern Pacific Railroad, he moved to the Rogue Valley in 1988 from West Point, Calif.

On Sept. 24, 1978, in Lockeford, Calif., he married Alma I. Martin, who survives.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Daniel, of Reno, Nev., and a stepson, Johnny Church, of Watsonville, Calif.; daughters Nancy Cagle, of Jacksonville, and Kathie Koftinow, of Lodi, Calif., and stepdaughter Anita Hyland, of Ashland; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, 2201 N. Pheonix Road, Medford.

Victor Joseph David

Victor Joseph David, 88, of Central Point, died Wednesday (July 19, 2000) at his home. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mr. David was born March 8, 1912, in Rugby, N. D., a son of Alexander and Marie (Hatoum) David. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Sacramento, Calif. in 1950.

Mr. David served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He owned and operated a restaurant supply business until his retirement in 1985.

Mr. David was a member of the Elks, VFW, American Legion and the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Windsor, Medford, and Joselyn Houk, Bend; two sons, Steven, Phoenix, and Jonathan, Portland; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Victoria David and Sophie Boddy; and three brothers, Habib "Hap", Edward and William.

Robert Lee Jones Sr.

The memorial service for Robert Lee Jones Sr. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harvest Baptist Temple in Medford. The Rev. Bob Gass will officiate.

Mr. Jones, 72, of Medford, died Tuesday (July 18, 2000) in Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 10 Crater Lake Ave., Suite 10, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born April 20, 1928, in Louisville, Ky. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1947.

In February 1960, he married Linda Lou Miller, who survives.

Mr. Jones worked for Paramount Pest Control in Grants Pass for 12 years. He later worked for various paving companies in the area, and for the last few years as a boilerman for Timber Products.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Jones enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Robert Lee Jr., Medford; two daughters, Robin Calzada and Kimberly Ann Jones, both Medford; and nine grandchildren.

Larry Lee Wright Sr.

A celebration of the life of Larry Lee Wright Sr. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at River Park in Happy Camp, Calif., followed by a potluck.

Mr. Wright, 63, of Happy Camp, died July 14, 2000, at Madrone Hospice in Yreka, Calif.

He was born Oct. 20, 1936, in Cottage Grove, a son of Eva Ruth and William Howard Wright Sr.

On Feb. 14, 1983, in Reno, Nev., he married Karolena Ruth, who survives.

Mr. Wright was a self-employed truck driver in Yreka, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Marines as a private first class at Camp Pendleton.

Mr. Wright was a member of the Lions Club and the Assembly of God.

He collected match box cars and enjoyed race car driving and gardening.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Larry Wright Jr., Happy Camp, Calif., Lucky Wright, Vancouver, Wash., and Wayne Ambrose, Grants Pass; six daughters, Sharyl Snipes, White City, Karolena King, Lafayette, Theresa Wright, Culver, Linda Kemper, Tacoma, Wash., Mary Harris, Redding, Calif., and Ruby Smith, Crescent City, Calif.; two sisters, Juanita Gillet, Eugene, and Betty Lou Dobbs, Prairie Grove, Ariz.. Two brothers, Frank and William, preceded him in death.

Arrangements: Ashland Funeral Care.

Marian Jane Clouse

The memorial service for Marian Jane Clouse will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Eagle Point National Cemetery Interment Shelter. The Rev. William McHugh of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Shady Cove will officiate.

Mrs. Clouse, 63, of Shady Cove, died Tuesday (July 18, 2000) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 691 Murphy Road, Suite 236, Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Aug. 21, 1936, in El Cerrito, Calif., a daughter of Raymond and Lottie (Sousa) Morris.

On Sept. 3, 1955, in San Pablo, Calif., she married Phillip Clouse, who survives.

Mrs. Clouse was an office manager for 40 years, retiring in 1994. She moved to Shady Cove from Phoenix, Ore. in 1983.

She enjoyed her family, bowling and crocheting.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Dennis Lee, Phoenix, and Richard James, Norman, Okla.; her stepfather, James C. Helland, Hayward, Calif.; a brother, Raymond Morris, Hercules, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
