Marie Z. Wilson
Marie Z. Wilson, 83, of Medford, died Sunday (June 25, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford. A private service will be held later. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.

She was born Marie Arzt on May 14, 1917, in Boyds, Wash. She moved to the Rogue Valley 20 years ago from Yakima, Wash.
Ms. Wilson was a homemaker.
She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening and raising cats.
Survivors include a son, Larry Irby, Medford; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Kenneth Arzt.

David Elliot Moten
David Elliot Moten, 66, of Ashland, died Saturday (June 24, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. The memorial service will be held later.
He was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Huntington Beach, Calif.
He married Marian B. Moten, who survives.
Mr. Moten was an equipment operator. He moved to the Rogue Valley 15 years ago from Klamath Falls.
He enjoyed young people and woodworking.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Monica Dawson, Klamath Falls; two sons, Ernest, Centreville, Va., and Matthew, in Washington; a foster son, Jeffrey Slater, Brisbane, Australia; a brother, Juanas, Compton, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Patrick F. Hawthorne
Patrick Frank Hawthorne, 49, of Medford, died Thursday (June 22, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private family memorial service will be held.

Mr. Hawthorne was born March 17, 1951, in San Francisco. He moved to the Rogue Valley 22 years ago from California.
On Oct. 9, 1979, in Reno, he married Patsy Vega, who survives.
He graduated from Eugene Diesel Training School in 1990.
He worked as a millworker and truck driver in the lumber industry.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Jessica Hawthorne, Medford, and Kimberley Hawthorne, Magalia, Calif.; three brothers, Mike, Chico, Calif., Jimmy, Cloverdale, Calif., and Gary, Los Angeles; two sisters, Marsha Gardner, Chico; Marion Sneed, Fayetteville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert A. Wiegand
The memorial service for Robert A. Wiegand will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Dick Boden will officiate.
The family requests no flowers.
Mr. Wiegand, 82, of Medford, died Sunday (June 18, 2000) at his home.
He was born on Nov, 17, 1917, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Alfred and Rose Wiegand. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1959.
Mr. Wiegand was a graduate of Ohio University.
He served as a captain in the Army Air Force during World War II.
He worked as a terminal manager for Consolidated Freightways for 33 years.
Mr. Wiegand enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Survivors include companion Esther Kennedy; two sons, Mark, Medford, and Robert B., Grants Pass; a daughter, Carol Aarmio, Tualatin; a sister, Carolyn Collamore, Beaverton; former spouse, Vivian, White Rock, British Columbia; four grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

Harriet ‘San’ Waits
Harriet "San" Waits, 74, of LaPine, died Wednesday (June 21, 2000) in Bend. A memorial service has been held.

She was born Harriet Tuski on July 12, 1925, in Barnsville, Minn. In 1977 she married Herb Waits, who survives. She lived in the Rogue Valley from 1955 to 1977.
Mrs. Waits worked in retail in Medford until her retirement in 1977.
She enjoyed cooking, hunting and camping.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Steven Williams, Medford, and Gerald Williams, Renton, Wash.; a brother, Robert Tuski, Kirkland, Wash.; two sisters, Grace Tuski, Bend, and Audrey Gard, Eugene; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Donald G. Stewart
A memorial gathering for Donald G. Stewart will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Medford Moose Lodge.
Mr. Stewart, 71, of Lakeside (formerly of Medford), died Saturday (June 24, 2000) at his daughter’s house in Gold Hill.

He was born March 24, 1929, in Glenna, Mo. He moved to the Rogue Valley 50 years ago.
On March 6, 1961 in Reno, he married N. Lila Stillwell, who survives.
Mr. Stewart owned restaurants in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, and Medford. He worked as a chef at the Rogue Valley Country Club for 17 years. He retired to Medford then moved to Lakeside in 1994.
He was a member of the Medford Moose Lodge for 44 years and the Eagles Lodge for 21 years.
Mr. Stewart enjoyed playing poker, hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Laura Lindahl, Medford, Patty Wells, Sams Valley, and Virginia Bedingfield, Gold Hill; two sons, Jim Richey, Sumner, Wash., and Shawn Coval, Anchorage, Alaska; three brothers, Haskel, Medford, and Paul James and Charles, Palmer, Alaska; a sister, Lucile Vanderpool, Central Point; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Wiilliam Van Holt
The graveside service for William "Bill" Van Holt will be at 10 a.m. July 8 at the Rock Point Cemetery in Gold Hill.
Mr. Van Holt, 63, of Gold Hill, died Sunday (June 25, 2000) at his home.

He was born on Aug. 31, 1936, in New York, N.Y. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1993 from California.
Mr. Van Holt served in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed fishing, watching sports on television and playing poker.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda, Gold Hill; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.
