Mary Martin Gordon

The graveside service for Mary M. Gordon will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Florence Cemetery in Florence, Miss.

Mrs. Gordon, 77, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Nov. 16, 1999) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Medford Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504, or the Ashland Community Hospital Foundation, 280 Maple St., Ashland, OR 97520.

She was born Jan. 7, 1922, in Jackson, Miss., a daughter of Adam Brinson and Carrie (Tuttle) Martin.

On May 2, 1942, in Florence, Miss., she married Robert Tiffany Gordon, who died in 1987. She moved to Ashland in 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Orf, Ashland; a son, Robert T. Jr., Jackson, Miss.; a sister, Margaret Whittington, Brookhaven, Miss; and four grandsons. She was preceded in death by a brother, A.B. Martin, Jr.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

Dora Rogers Childreth

The graveside service for Dora Rogers Childreth will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Chaplain Paul Hagedorn of Providence Medford Medical Center will officiate.

Mrs. Childreth, 85, of Phoenix, died Saturday (Nov. 13, 1999) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dunn House, c/o Community Works, 900 E. Main St., Medford, OR 97501.

She was born July 15, 1914, in Wichita, Kan., a daughter of Charles Sherman and Lola Faye (Kearnes) Yazel.

On Dec. 31, 1936, in Kansas, she married Art Rogers, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Kansas in 1943.

On Sept. 7, 1976, in Reno, Nev., she married Keith Childreth, who survives.

Mrs. Childreth was a receptionist in the medical profession, and a homemaker.

She was a member of the Talent Garden Club and belonged to Parents Without Partners.

Mrs. Childreth enjoyed reading.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Darrell Rogers, Seward, Alaska; two daughters, Sharon Kay Hayes and Bobbie Leblanc, both Medford; a stepson, Wes Childreth, White City; a stepdaughter, Donna McInnes, in Australia; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ron Rogers, in 1987; and a brother, Charles Yazel.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Edward J. Falls

Edward J. Falls, 79, of Medford, died Saturday (Nov. 13, 1999) at Hearthstone. A private service has been held.

He was born Feb. 24, 1920, in New York, N.Y.

On Aug. 23, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he married Marie Andreas, who survives.

He graduated from St. John's University and Law School in New York in 1947.

Mr. Falls was a corporate attorney. He began his career in New Jersey in the law department of Prudential Insurance Co. He also worked as general counsel of Beneficial Standard Insurance Company in Los Angeles for many years.

Mr. Falls took an early retirement and worked as an independent consultant in corporate matters for insurance companies. He also taught business law at California State University in Long Beach, Calif., for four years. He moved to the Rogue Valley 1 1/2 years ago from Yuba City, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Falls enjoyed swimming and was a world traveler.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Rita Falls, Mount Shasta, Calif., Christina Falls, Palm Desert, Calif., and Sharon Waller, Gold River, Calif.; a brother Joe, Clarkston, Mich.; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Falls; and a brother, Kenneth.

Alan Robert Clum

The memorial service for Alan Robert Clum will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford. The Rev. William Dillard will officiate. Inurnment will be in Jacksonville Cemetery.

Mr. Clum, 51, of Medford, died Nov. 11, 1999, near Gold Hill.

He was born Jan. 22, 1948, in Wellington, Kan.

On Jan. 25, 1969, in Conway Springs, Kan., he married Carol L. Nuessen, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1988 from Wichita, Kan.

Mr. Clum was a paving contractor for many years in the Rogue Valley, where he owned and operated PPM (Professional Pavement Management).

He was a member of The Compassionate Friends and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mr. Clum enjoyed sports, gardening, the outdoors and playing golf.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Morgan, Medford; a daughter, Angie Clum, Medford; his mother, Nina Myers, Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Larry, Maize, Kan., and Mike, Silver Lake, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son, Jason; his father, Lee; and his stepfather, Mervin Myers.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary.

Fay `Sarge' A. Holley

Fay "Sarge" Allen Holley, 90, of Medford, died Thursday (Nov. 18, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 3412, Ashland, OR 97520.

He was born Aug. 7, 1909, in Riddle.

On Aug. 7, 1943, in Mount Shasta, Calif., he married Florence Boussoum, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1957.

Mr. Holley was a state police officer in the Rogue Valley for 25 years, retiring in 1964.

He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Marcia Asher, Central Point, Karen Darling, Ashland, and Shirley Koester, Portland; three sisters, Doris Miller, Astoria, and Gladys Mc Mahill and Muriel Pruess, both Portland; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother; and one sister.

Robert Thomas Hartnett

The graveside service for Robert Thomas Hartnett will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in El Cajon Memorial Park in El Cajon, Calif.

Mr. Hartnett, 82, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday (Nov. 17, 1999) at his home.

He was born July 31, 1917, in Hartford, Conn.

On June 20, 1946, in Munich, Germany, he married Charlotte Baum, who died in 1989. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Klamath Falls three years ago.

Mr. Hartnett retired from the U.S. Army as a master sergeant in 1962, after serving 23 years.

He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Grants Pass and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Hartnett enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Survivors include four sons, James and John, both Grants Pass, William, Klamath Falls, and Robert, San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Twila Rejoyce Stoner

The memorial service for Twila Rejoyce Stoner will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Applegate Community Church in Applegate. The Rev. Earl Best will officiate.

Mrs. Stoner, 87, of Medford, died Oct. 28, 1999 at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Applegate Community Church, P.O. Box 3140, Applegate, OR 97530.
