I. Kratavil
The graveside service for Helen Imogene Kratavil will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pastor Dick Kirk, retired, will officiate.
Mrs. Kratavil, 99, of Medford, died Sunday (Aug. 15, 1999) in Medford.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Medford, Wycliff Bible Translators, 649 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.
She was born Dec. 24, 1899, in Warnerville, Neb., a daughter of Oren and Iola Sleeper.
On April 18, 1922, in Stanton, Neb., she married L.W. Kratavil, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley from California in 1971, and later moved to Eugene. She returned to Medford in 1991.
Mrs. Kratavil was an elementary school teach in Nebraska for four years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Medford.
Mrs. Kratavil enjoyed drawing and reading.
Survivors include three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joy Stites
The graveside service for Marveline Joy Stites is planned for Brazoria Cemetery, Brazoria, Texas, at a later date.
Mrs. Stites, 74, of Medford, died Monday (Aug. 16, 1999) at Medford Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
She was born Aug. 7, 1925, in McCrory, Ark., a daughter of Lem and Irene Roberts.
On April 5, 1940, in Tennessee, she married Clarence Royal Stites, who died in 1996.
Mrs. Stites was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Siemers, Central Point, and Jean Pederson, Roseau, Minn.; a brother, Kenneth Roberts, Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Lotta Jean Holiday, Little Rock, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Theodore; and a brother, Quinnen Roberts.

Gladys Dillman
Family and friends of Gladys Dillman will gather for a potluck at 1 p.m. Sunday at Lost Creek Lake.
Mrs. Dillman, 87, of Medford, died Friday (Aug. 13, 1999) in Medford.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 33 N. Central Ave., Suite 330, Medford, OR 97501.
She was born Aug. 17, 1911, in Hesston, Kan., a daughter of Oliver and Ella Cummings.
On Aug. 11, 1934, in Newton, Kan., she married William Jacob Dillman, who died in 1969. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Kansas in 1962.
Mrs. Dillman was a cook at Becky's Cafe in Union Creek from 1965-1969. She later worked for the U.S. Forest Service fire crew in Union Creek.
She was a member of the Reese Creek Christian Center in Eagle Point.
Mrs. Dillman enjoyed cooking, quilting and crocheting.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth, Eagle Point, and Larry Wayne, Prineville; five daughters, Sally Smith, Medford, Virginia Dillman, Eagle Point, Sherrie Stockebrand and Patricia Karmun, both Prospect, and Sherri Dillman, Prineville; two sisters, Ruth Barnes, Austin, Texas, and Ila Jean Sauerwine, Newton; a brother, Warren Cummings, Goessel, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and a great-grandson.

Roy Roger Smith (Roy Quantarrow)
The memorial service for Roy Roger Smith, also known as Roy Quantarrow, will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Chapel of the Valley, 2065 Upper River Road, Grants Pass.
Mr. Smith, 61, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (Aug. 12, 1999) at his home.
He was born Sept. 5, 1937, in Durango, Colo.
On June 22, 1994, he married Joan Gail Lewis, who survives.
Mr. Smith worked for the California Highway Patrol. He also worked in the rodeo and as an outfitter.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five sons, Shawn T. Quantarrow, Grants Pass, and Frank Quantarrow, Hemet, Calif., Gary Smith, Roger Smith and Ronald Smith, all in Colorado; two daughters, Brenda McCain, Oroville, Calif., and Debra Slegle, in Colorado; a brother, Ronald Ziegler, in Oklahoma; and three sisters, Sharon Curtis, Sacramento, Calif., and Patricia Matteson and Betty Rohrbacker, both Hemet.

N. Gale Culy
N. Gale Culy, 88, of Tempe, Ariz., formerly of Medford, died Aug. 7, 1999, in Tempe. The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 5, at Hillcrest Mortuary.

He was born June 24, 1911, in Grants Pass, a son of C.N. (Ned) and Georgia Culy. He lived in Medford from childhood until 1996.
On Aug. 31, 1935, he married Helene Coke, who survives.
Mr. Culy was a lumberman and worked for several sawmills in Medford and Prospect.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Mr. Culy served in the U.S. Army from 1931-1935.
He enjoyed gardening and travel.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Douglas, Tempe, Ariz., and the Rev. Stanly, Worcester, Mass.; two sisters, Jean Ohrt, Manson, Wash., and Kathleen Ferrin, San Mateo, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ruth R. Boling
Ruth R. Boling, 89, of Medford, died Thursday (Aug. 12, 1999) at her home. No service is planned. Interment will be in Siskiyou Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 11, 1909, in Lenora, Kansas, a daughter of Fred and Maude Tamm. She lived in the Rogue Valley all of her life.
Mrs. Boling worked as a motel maid.
She enjoyed crocheting.

Henry W. Jackson
The memorial service for Henry Walter Jackson will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mr. Jackson, 92, of Phoenix, died Friday (Aug. 13, 1999) at his home.

Mr. Jackson was born Aug. 4, 1907, in London, England. On Oct. 2, 1937, in London, he married Agnes Jones, who survives.
He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1975 from Southern California.
Mr. Jackson enjoyed traveling and studying history. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Jacksonville.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a sister, Hilda Davis, in England. He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Patricia L. DeWoody
A memorial service for Patricia Lou DeWoody will be Sept. 4 at Tom Pearce Park near Grants Pass.
Mrs. DeWoody, 72, of Grants Pass, died Aug. 8, 1999, at her home.
She was born Patricia Lou Woolley on Nov. 15, 1926, in San Diego, Calif.
In 1978, in Reno, Nev., she married Kenneth Merle DeWoody, who died in 1985.
Mrs. DeWoody was a sales clerk for the Orowheat Food Co. in Grants Pass.
She enjoyed gardening and animals. She was a member of the Eagles and Moose lodges.
Survivors include a daughter, Tomra Churchill, Grants Pass; a son, Mike Young, Veradale, Wash.; a brother, Doug Woolley, Eugene; and three grandchildren.
