Margie Gonsalves

The memorial service for Margie Belle Gonsalves will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Dave Humphreys of the Phoenix Church of Christ will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mrs. Gonsalves, 76, of Central Point, died Thursday (Nov. 26, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center in Medford.

She was born Margie Belle Brown on Sept. 22, 1922, in Decatur, Ala.

On July 22, 1989, in Reno, Nev., she married Ralph Gonsalves, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Hayward, Calif. in 1991.

Mrs. Gonsalves was a waitress.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Hayward, Calif.

Mrs. Gonsalves enjoyed sewing, television, reading and collecting cats.

Survivors, in addition to her spouse, include a daughter, Doylene Estill, Sedro Woolley, Wash.; a step-son, Julian Gonsalves, Livermore, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Rose Gimeno, Hayward, Calif., and Gloria Bratcher, Smokey Point, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, 550 Business Park Drive, Medford.

Norwood Licklider

Norwood Licklider, 74, of Medford, died Friday (Nov. 27, 1998) at his home. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Medford Medical Center, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504 or Rogue Valley Medical Center, Hospice, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Sedalia, Mo. He moved to the Rogue Valley 37 years ago from Seattle, Wash.

On Nov. 25, 1948, in Kansas City, Kan., he married Charlotte Hastings, who died in December 1997.

Mr. Licklider served in the the United States Army during World War II. He was an assistant sales manager for Missouri Pacific Railroad, which was later purchased by Union Pacific Railroad. He retired in 1983 after 39 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Jan Espasandin, Medford; a son, Alan, Portland; and four grandchildren.

Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Raymond Rosales

The funeral Mass for Raymond Jesus Rosales will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Bill Ryan of All Souls Catholic Church in Myrtle Creek will officiate. A graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Conger-Morris Chapel, Medford. The Rev. Carmelo Mifsud will officiate.

Mr. Rosales, 77, of Medford, died Saturday (Nov. 28, 1998) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to San Fernando Cathedral, with Attn: Pastor David Garcia, San Antonio, TX.

Mr. Rosales was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Pueblo, Colo.

On Aug. 5, 1946, in Monte Vista, Colo., he married Ramona Medina, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley from San Francisco 31 years ago.

Mr. Rosales was employed by Ford Motor Co., and General Motors. He served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander of the 1st Armored Division in Africa and Europe during World War II. He received the Purple Heart.

Mr. Rosales was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Cynthia Suguira, Medford, and Juanita Grabenhurst, Talent; three sons, Lawrence, San Jose, Calif.; Russel, Limon, Colo.; and William, Conifer, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Rodney, two brothers, a sister, and a grandson, Lawrence Robert Fraumeni.

Friends may pay their respects at 6 p.m. today at Conger-Morris Chapel, Medford.

Jo N. Williams

Jo N. Williams, 87, of Medford, died Friday (Nov. 27, 1998) at Dempsey Care Center in Medford. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3101 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97201.

She was born Jo N. Waldron on March 25, 1911, in Klamath Falls. She lived most of her life in the Rogue Valley where she attended Medford schools, and graduated from Medford High School in 1928.

On Oct. 27, 1929, in Ashland, she married Willis W. Williams, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Williams was a homemaker.

She enjoyed golf, water skiing, gardening and traveling.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara "Bobbi" W. Vawter, Charlotte, N.C.; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, W. Roger Williams.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

William D. `Bill' Stroud

The memorial service for William Daniel "Bill" Stroud will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ashland Christian Fellowship. Pastor Andy Green of Ashland Christian Fellowship will the officiate.

Mr. Stroud, 66, of Ashland, died Thursday (Nov. 26, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Okmulgee, Okla. He was raised in Watsonville, Calif., and lived in Phoenix, Ariz., Fresno and Redding, Calif., before moving to Ashland in 1981.

On Aug. 21, 1982, in Ashland, he married Wanda O'Neal, who survives.

Mr. Stroud was a maintenance man with Ashland Christian Fellowship and the Buggy Bath Car Wash.

He was a member of the Ashland Christian Fellowship.

Mr. Stroud enjoyed woodworking and small engine repair.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sisters, Sally Stroud and Susan Castagna, both of Talent, and Mary Cikuth, Watsonville, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews including Jennifer Woodward, Talent. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Tanner Ray Crist

The funeral for Tanner Ray Crist will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Applegate Christian Fellowship in Ruch. Assistant pastor Rick Cohen of the fellowship will officiate.

Tanner, a newborn, of Medford, died Thursday (Nov. 26, 1998) at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland.

He was born Wednesday (Nov. 25, 1998) in Medford, a son of Ray and Kristina Crist of Medford.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his grandparents, Jim and Lois Hendricks of Grants Pass and David and Dorothy Crist of Medford.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary.

Roger Nielson

The funeral for Roger Nielson will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Second Ward Chapel at 2141 Brookhurst St. in Medford. Bishop Joe Zimmer will officiate.

Mr. Nielson, 41, of Medford, died Friday (Nov. 27, 1998) at his home.

Memorial contributions can be made to: LDS Church Medford Second Ward Missionary Fund, 1600 Springbrook St., Medford, OR 97504.

Mr. Nielson was born April 29, 1957, in Mount Pleasant, Utah, a son of Ethel and Max Nielson. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Indiana in 1988.

On July 20, 1973, in West Jordan, Utah, he married Kim Crowther, who survives.

Mr. Nielson was a professor of chemistry and research at Southern Oregon University in Ashland and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Daniel Max Nielson, Michael James Nielson and Samuel Roger Nielson, all of Medford; two daughters, Jacquelyne Nielson and Marie Nielson, both of Medford; his mother, Ethel Nielson of Manti, Utah; two brothers and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Max Nielson, in 1989.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Eugene J. Love

The memorial service for Eugene L. Love will be held Sunday in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in McKinney, Texas. Burt Palmer will officiate.

Mr. Love, 41, formerly of Medford, died Wednesday (Nov. 25, 1998) at his home in Allen, Texas.

Memorial contributions may be made to Williston Federated Church, Williston, VT 95495 or Suncreek United Methodist Church, 1517 W. McDermott Drive, Allen, TX 75013.

He was born Aug. 15, 1957, in Medford.

On June 1, 1980, in Medford Lakes, N.J., he married Susan Diane Marforio, who survives.

Mr. Love was an engineer for Tokyo Electron of Arizona.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was a member of the Suncreek United Methodist Church in Allen.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Allison Rebecca Love, Allen; a son, Zachary Daniel, Allen; his parents, James Love and Betty Acker Love, Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Linda Marie Ford, Grants Pass; and grandmother, Zaida Acker, in Arizona.

Arrangements: Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow.
