Herbert W. Andrews
The graveside service for Herbert Winslow Andrews will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Andrews, 68, of Medford, died Thursday (Sept. 24, 1998) at his home.

He was born April 13, 1930, in Winchester, Mass.
On Dec. 5, 1959, in San Francisco, Calif., he married Martha E. Jensen, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1986 from San Jose, Calif.
Mr. Andrews was a service manager for Xerox Corp. in San Jose and Medford, retiring in 1992.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War and later in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Andrews was an assistant coach for Babe Ruth Little League. A Mason and member of Scottish Rite, he also was active in the Rogue Eagles Flying Club.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Scott W., Medford, and Craig H., San Jose; a sister, Ruth Magrath, in Massachusetts; and two grandchildren. A sister and a brother preceded him in death.

Phillip Vance
The graveside service for Phillip Vance will be at 2 p.m. today in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Vance, 51, of White City, died Friday (Sept. 25, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 26, 1947, in Iager, W.Va. The family moved to Oregon in 1959.
Mr. Vance served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1973.
On Nov. 15, 1974, in Medford, he married Robin Lester, who survives.
Mr. Vance was a baker for Northwest Bagel Co.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and rock hunting.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Melissa Ann Vance, Medford, and Emily Rose Vance, White City; his mother, Polly Vance, Iaeger; and a sister, Georganna Butler, Iager. His father, Arnom, preceded him in death.

Eleanor C. Anderson
Eleanor C. Anderson, 65, of Medford, died Wednesday (Sept. 23, 1998) at the Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness. No service is planned.
She was born Eleanor Colbert on Nov. 15, 1932, in Omak, Wash. She attended Chesaw, Wash., schools, graduating from Molson High School in 1950.
On Dec. 31, 1950, in Oroville, Wash., she married Sidney R. Anderson, who survives. They moved to Medford in 1956 with two small sons. A daughter was born later in Medford.
Mrs. Anderson attended Southern Oregon State College from 1975 to 1981, graduating with a master's degree in psychology. She was involved in volunteer work with the mentally disabled and the Rape Crisis Center.
She was baptized in the First Free Methodist Church in 1956 and later attended the Eastwood Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Danny, Central Point; a daughter, Cheryl Anderson, Medford; four sisters, Ruby Shirling and Velma Hill, both Oroville, Wash., Letha, Chewelah, Wash., and Betty Grigsby, Spokane, Wash.; two brothers, Marvin Colbert, Chesaw, and Orin Colbert, Chewelah; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael; and two brothers.

George H. Raines
Friends of George H. Raines will gather for a celebration of his life at 2 p.m. Wednesday at his home.
Mr. Raines, 81, of Central Point, died Saturday (Sept. 26, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 18, 1917, in Los Angeles, Calif.
On Nov. 25, 1948, he married Grace Smith, who survives.
Mr. Raines worked in the petroleum industry until retiring in 1981. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1982.
Mr. Raines was an avid golfer.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a sister-in-law, Bettie Sharp, Central Point; a brother-in-law, Jim B. Martin, Central Point and Cathedral City, Calif.; a niece, Joyce Riker; and a nephew, Charles Martin.

Wayne Ralph Harris
The graveside service for Wayne Ralph Harris will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford. Pastor Jay Wolfman will officiate.
Mr. Harris, 75, of Medford, died Saturday (Sept. 16, 1998) at Hearthstone.
He was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Ashland, a son of Ralph and Irene Harris.
On Feb. 21, 1947, in Medford, he married G. Joyce Cave, who died in 1989.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps in the Samoan Islands.
Mr. Harris worked in retail sales at Western Auto, Gates Furniture, ENESCO, Vinton Co. and Red Barn Furniture. He retired in 1990.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth W., Medford, and Ralph M., Duvall, Wash.; a sister, Marjorie Hanson, Ruch; and two grandchildren.

Alice L. Quackenbush
The funeral for Alice Lenore Quackenbush will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford. The Rev. Mark Cach will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Quackenbush, 81, of Medford, died Saturday (Sept. 26, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Alice Abbott on Dec. 2, 1916, in Swink, Colo.
On July 19, 1936, in Delta, Colo., she married Tyler H. Quackenbush, who died in March 1998. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1973 from New Dehli, India.
Mrs. Quackenbush was a volunteer with the Red Cross, Loaves and Fishes and St. Vincent De Paul.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Rogue Valley Country Club, and was past president of Southern Oregon Women's Golf Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Williams, Medford; a son, Chuck, Medford; a brother, Phillip Abbott, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Two brothers preceded her in death.

Erlice L. Corbett
The graveside service for Erlice L. Corbett will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. James Clifford will officiate.
Mrs. Corbett, 70, of Medford, died Friday (Sept. 25, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Erlice Wolseth on Aug. 25, 1928, in San Francisco, Calif.
On Nov. 2, 1947, in San Francisco, she married William E. Corbett, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1984 from Santa Rosa, Calif.
While living in Walnut Creek, Calif., she was a member of Diablo Light Opera Company and had leads in shows including "Finian's Rainbow," "Paint Your Wagon" and "Most Happy Fellow."
Mrs. Corbett enjoyed the theater and classical music, often attending the Shakespeare Festival, Britt concerts and Rogue Valley Symphony performances.
She was an avid tennis player and a member of Southern Oregon Tennis Club. She also was active with the Trail Mary's hiking group.
Most of her relatives are farmers in Minnesota.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Mike, Medford, and Glenn, Eugene; and a daughter, Jamie Barton, Medford.

Margaret V. Tilden
Margaret V. Tilden, 71, of Talent, died Tuesday (Sept. 22, 1998) at her home. A private service will be held.
She was born Margaret Valentine on June 12, 1927, in Peekskill, N.Y.
On Dec. 10, 1949, in Hempstead, N.Y., she married Frederick Tilden Jr., who preceded her in death.
Before retirement, she was a church secretary. She was also an artist.
Survivors include two sons, Frederick Tilden III, Ashland, and Lon Tilden, Newberg; a daughter, Carolyn Freed, Janesville, Calif.; a sister, Muriel Farley, Talent; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Valentine.
