Sean Patrick Coniff

Mass will be celebrated for Sean Patrick Coniff at 11 a.m. Saturday in Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, Central Point. The Rev. Jim Clifford will officiate. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Gold Hill.

Mr. Coniff, 19, of Central Point, died Monday (May 18, 1998) in an automobile accident in Gold Hill.

Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America, 3039 Hanley Road, Central Point, OR 97502 or M.A.D.D., 1490 La Loma Drive, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born April 20, 1979, in Medford.

He was a senior at Crater High School.

Mr. Coniff was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church.

He was an Eagle Scout and president of the 4H Gold Valley Beef and Sheep clubs for three consecutive years.

He enjoyed motorcycle riding and four-wheeling.

Survivors include his parents, Patrick and Brenda Tocher Coniff, Central Point; a brother, Shea, Central Point; and three sisters, Heather Coniff, Grants Pass, and Alicia Smith and Amber Coniff, both Central Point.

Friends may pay their respects from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church.

Pallon S. Kapadia

Pallon S. Kapadia, 80, of Ashland, died Tuesday (May 19, 1998) at Ashland Community Hospital. A private service was held. Interment was in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.

He was born June 28, 1917, in Bombay, India.

Mr. Kapadia grew up in India.

On Jan. 19, 1947, in Bombay, he married Najoo Shaukar, who survives.

They moved to Sherman Oaks, Calif., in 1971, where he was an electrical engineer in the steel industry.

In 1990, he retired and they moved to Ashland.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Freny Munshi, Ashland; a brother, Homi S., in India; and two grandchildren.

Arrangements: Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

Frances L. Antonucci

The memorial service for Frances L. Antonucci will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. The Rev. B.J. Holland will officiate. Private interment will be in Scenic Hills Memorial Park.

Mrs. Antonucci, 98, of Ashland, died Friday (May 15, 1998) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Frances Glass on April 28, 1900, in Clovis, Calif.

Mrs. Antonucci and her nine siblings grew up in Tollhouse, Calif.

On Feb. 8, 1917, in Fresno, Calif., she married Steve B. Antonucci, who died Dec. 16, 1979.

They lived in Big Creek, Calif., where Mrs. Antonucci was a telephone operator for Southern California Edison Co.

In 1927, they moved to Monterey Park, Calif., where they lived until moving to Ashland in 1960.

Mrs. Antonucci, a member of the Ashland Community Hospital Auxiliary, had been recognized for more than 1,000 hours of volunteer work there.

She was president of the Ashland Senior Citizens, a member of Ashland Ladies of Elk, Alpha Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Upper Valley Community Club, and Bellview Grange.

Survivors include two daughters, May Dunn and Pat Wells, both of Ashland; a sister, Celia Button, Cudahy, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Blair Antonucci; a daughter, Betty Clupney; and a great-granddaughter.

Maxine H. Ferg

Maxine H. Ferg, 87, formerly of Medford, died Thursday (April 30, 1998) in a Brookings care facility. Private interment was in Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 33 N. Central Ave., Suite 330, Medford, OR 97501 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501

She was born Aug. 31, 1910, in St. Paul, Minn.

On June 21, 1930, in Medford, she married Lloyd Ferg, who died in 1977.

Mrs. Ferg lived in Medford until moving to Brookings three years ago.

Survivors include two sons, Marshall, Brookings, and Russell, Leavenworth, Wash.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Arrangements: Scantlin's Brookings Mortuary and Chapel.

Marie Comstock

Marie Comstock, 87, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday (May 20, 1998) at her home. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to Yerba Buena Mission, in care of Anita Franklin, 2400 Limpy Creek Road, Grants Pass, OR 97527.

She was born Marie Graham on Oct. 15, 1910, in Fort Collins, Colo. She moved to Oregon in 1936.

On Dec. 26, 1937, in Brookings, she married Ray Comstock, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Comstock founded the Yerba Buena Mission in Chiapas, Mexico.

She was a life member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Anita Franklin, Grants Pass; a brother, Willard Graham, Grants Pass; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Burton; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral.

Janet Ruby Pickens

The memorial service for Janet Ruby Pickens will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the United Methodist Church, Medford. The Rev. C. Bunny Oliver will officiate. Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Pickens, 81, of Medford, died Monday (May 18, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Janet Fickenscher on July 1, 1916, in Great Falls, Mont.

On Feb. 25, 1940, in Roseburg, she married Kenneth E. Pickens, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Pickens lived most of her life in the Rogue Valley.

She was a member of the Medford First United Methodist Church and the Rogue River Valley Knife and Fork Club. She enjoyed concerts, camping, and bowling.

Survivors include a daughter, Dianne Pickens, Friday Harbor, Wash.; and a brother, Harold Fickenscher, Albany.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Wilma Ella King

The funeral for Wilma Ella King will be at 10 a.m. today in the Conger-Morris Medford Chapel. Pastor Kay "Katie" Lee of Faith Bible Center will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Coos Bay.

Mrs. King, 97, of Medford, died Sunday (May 17, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Wilma Leibee on May 6, 1901, in Sterling, Colo.

On Dec. 9, 1940, in Columbus, Kan., she married Gerald King, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. King was a home missionary for 17 years in Tulsa, Okla.

She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1989 from Albany.

Mrs. King was a member of Faith Bible Center in Medford.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Gregory, Medford; a sister, Edna Groh, Greeley, Colo.; eight granchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, and two brothers.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

M. Lee Sprang

The graveside service for M. Lee Sprang will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Paul Robinson of the Medford Congregational United Church will officiate.

Mr. Sprang, 78, of Medford, died Sunday (May 17, 1998) at his home.

He was born June 8, 1919, in Willow Lake, S.D.

After graduating from airplane mechanics school in Louisiana, Mr. Sprang was commissioned an officer in the Army Air Corps, serving during World War II.

On Aug. 29, 1948, in Quartzsite, Ariz., he married Claudine Barough, who survives.

They moved to Oregon in 1966 from Kanab, Utah, where he was active in community affairs.

Mr. Sprang retired as plant superintendent for Oregon Cut Stock and Molding in White City.

He was an American Legion commander and a member of the Kanab Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Marc, Medford; two sisters, Bertha Cherrington and Della Stanley, both Stockton, Calif.; and two granddaughters.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral, Medford.
