Hazel Mae Roberts

Hazel Mae Roberts, 90, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (April 23, 1998) at Royale Garden Health Care in Grants Pass. A family service has been held.

Miss Roberts was born Jan. 23, 1908, in Cove, Ark.

She moved to Oregon in 1951 from Hatton, Ark.

She was a hotel housekeeper and attended the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two nieces and four nephews.

Arrangements: Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives.

Carl E. Mohr

Carl E. Mohr, 61, formerly of Medford, died Friday (April 17, 1998) at his home in Albuquerque, N.M. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the University of New Mexico Children's Hospital, 2211 Lomas Blvd. N.E., Albuquerque, NM 87106 or Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born Nov. 20, 1936, in Centralia, Ill., a son of Carl and Gretchen Elkind. He was later adopted by Emil H. Mohr.

Mr. Mohr graduated from Medford High School in 1954 and Oregon State University in 1958. He member of the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) at OSU, and entered the U.S. Army at graduation. He earned a master's degree from OSU in 1971.

On April 4, 1959, in Illinois, he married Charlotte "Jody" Campbell, who survives.

He served in the Army for 26 years, with duty in South Korea, South Vietnam, and West Germany. He retired a lieutenant colonel in 1986 in Albuquerque.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Paul, Albuquerque; and two daughters, Dyan Walling, Salem, and Kathryn Mohr, Albuquerque; a brother, William H., Medford; and two grandchildren.

Arrangements: Sunrise Society of New Mexico, Albuquerque.

Donald Earl Brierley

The graveside service for Donald Earl Brierley was held Friday in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor John Dungey officiated.

Mr. Brierley, 72, of Shady Cove, died Tuesday (April 21, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born May 20, 1925, in El Monte, Calif.

On April 23, 1943, in San Bernardino, Calif., he married Barbara Jean Edwards, who preceded him in death.

During World War II, he was a motor machinist's mate in the U.S. Navy assigned to a patrol boat (PT).

While stationed on Tarawa, he relieved a brother who had been assigned there. Later he served on Kwajalein.

On both islands he was involved in desalination of sea water.

Mr. Brierley was a glass bottle blower for Ball Brothers Glass Manufacturing Co. in El Monte, where he lived until retiring in 1980 and moving to Shady Cove.

Mr. Brierley enjoyed fishing on the Rogue River and gardening.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Robin, Prospect; two brothers, Bud and Mickey, both El Monte; three grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Dwight and Gordon.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral.

Maureen Ann Mockry

The memorial service for Maureen Ann Mockry will be at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, 520 N. Holly St., Medford. Pastor Bud Coffman will officiate.

Mrs. Mockry, 46, of Medford, died Tuesday (April 21, 1998) at her home.

She was born Maureen O'Brien on Aug. 28, 1951, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

On Feb. 15, 1997, in Medford, she married Tom Mockry, who survives.

Mrs. Mockry was a model in her earlier years. Later she was a medical assistant.

She was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God. She enjoyed helping others.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Erin Lopez-O'Brien and Katie Mockry, both Medford; and two brothers, Jerry O'Brien, Central Point, and Pat O'Brien, in New Hampshire.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral.

Elizabeth E. Davis

The memorial service for Elizabeth Elsa Davis will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in the West Main Church of Christ, Medford.

Mrs. Davis, 74, of Talent, died Tuesday (April 14, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center in Medford.

She was born Elizabeth Lee on Sept. 14, 1923, in Hertfordshire, England.

She grew up in Hertfordshire and becamea nurse. She was in southern England in 1940 when 350,000 British, French, and Belgian soldiers were evacuation from Dunkirk, France, by a fleet of military, commercial and pleasure crafts in the face of the German onslaught.

She was in Britain throughout the war.

In the late 1940s, she moved with her husband, Dennis Lee, to British Columbia. They were later divorced.

She moved to Southern California in the early 1950s and worked in nursing.

In California, she met and married Arthur Davis, who died in 1986. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1976.

Mrs. Davis worked at Providence Hospital in Medford until retiring.

She has been active in the West Main Church of Christ. She enjoyed knitting and hooking rugs.

Survivors include a son, Michael Lee, Ashland; a brother in England; and two sisters, in England and Australia.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Richard Frank Mundy

The memorial service for Richard Frank Mundy will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Portland. Interment will be in the Willamette National Cemetery, Portland.

Mr. Mundy, 78, formerly of Medford, died Friday (April 17, 1998) in Portland.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501 or Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1207, Medford, OR 97501.

He was born April 6, 1920, in Rolla, N.D.

On May 27, 1946, he married Roberta Edwards, who survives.

From 1942 to 1947, he served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Mr. Mundy was a civil engineer for Chevron Oil prior to retiring in 1977.

He lived in Medford from 1948 to 1955.

Mr. Mundy enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Richard D., Medford; a daughter, Peggy Busby, Bothell, Wash.; a sister, Jean Kirby, St. Paul, Minn.; a brother, L. William, Minneapolis, Minn.; and two grandsons.

Arrangements: Killingsworth Little Chapel of the Chimes, Portland.

Ina May Reynolds

Ina May Reynolds, 92, of Medford, died Wednesday (April 22, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.

She was born Ina Shinn on Aug. 25, 1905, in Hull, Ill.

In 1925, in Hannibal, Mo., she married Benjamin Ross Reynolds, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Reynolds moved to the Rogue Valley six years ago from Oakland, Calif.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed reading, crocheting afghans and quilting.

Survivors include a son, Marvin R., Medford; two daughters, Phyllis A. McDaniels and Dorothy J. Hennessy, both Medford; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
